I have a Blur XC with propedal and I reckon the VPP design makes it almost redundant. It’s a useful crutch on older, less-evolved suspension designs though.

Meaw 😀 . To be honest I tend to agree with you. Owned a 5 and a nomad (so the same vvp as the blur) and IMHO the nomad, although heavier, climbs better. It seems to track the ground far more than the 5.

My lads 10 and he is in bed by 8pm on a school night. Add an hour on that for a fri and sat. School holidays are a bit later, maybe 9:30.

Trek. But I’m biased and I don’t like ribble. Live near Preston (where ribble are based) and they are like the orange five of the road world. Every man and his dog has got one 😉

Sorry I wasn’t very clear on my op. I already have a trutrive 3*9 chainset. I ordered a 36t middle chainring to replace the 32t that is already on. But on receiving it this morning I found out that it’s for the triple set up and not the double. I’m led to believe that the ring for the double set up is designed slightly different to help shifting of the chain. Just wondering if I should send it back and swap it or fit it and stop worrying.

Learnt my lesson last year when my hanger broke in the middle of a ride. Always carry a spare one in my pack now. Good job I do aswell- rear mech sheared off last Sunday doing a route round the lakes. Half an hour later we were on our merry way again.

Wouldn’t worry about the litter because the midges will keep the people away. Was up there last wednesday and was eaten alive by the little critters 😀 . On a serious note I do agree with the litter problem. How hard can it be to take your litter home with you?. After you’ve eaten the contents the packaging doesn’t take up as much room as before so TAKE IT HOME !

The fuera is available in either a full length zipp or half length smock. I have the full length zipp because I find putting on a smock over a helmet abit of a hassle. Doesn’t pack down as small as a velo but like Captainmanwearing said above is much more robust. Also I wasn’t very clear above about the sizing. I’m 5:11 and 85kg’s so a small should be tiny on me but for walking the dog it fits quite well. What I’m trying to say is try before you buy.

Paramo windproof smock/zipped jacket is also worth a look. Bit more robust than the velo and if you wash them in tx-direct will stand a good shower. They do seem to come up big though, wear a small when walking the dog but a medium for the arm length when on the bike. Got mine for about £27 in a go outdoors sale last year. Normally retail around £50 for the smock, £60 for the jacket.

Telesales from mumbai who call themselves Dave, Steven or any other British name. When clearly they are Asian. Any (slim) chance they had of selling me something went straight out of the window the moment they blatantly lied to me.

Often thought the same question because I mainly ride in the lake district and there would be no way I could ride with just one ring up front.

Here’s rogue with our new arrival, messi

So much for the fearless Rhodesian ridgeback, bred for hunting lions. The only thing he’d chase and hunt down is a doughnut. Still, I wouldn’t have him any other way.

When I used to go to the gym for a change or when I was pushed for time I did tabata deadlifts. Now they are hard. Only lifting 60kg but at the end it felt more like 260kg. (not that I’d know what 260kg’s would feel like). At the start I could do 14/15reps. By the end I was struggling to do 8/9 reps. Always got funny looks when I collapsed on all fours panting like a rabied dog when I’d finished.

I’m sorry to say but the chav was in the right. If I had my dog on it’s lead and another dog came running up to him I would do the same. My dog has just turned two and I spend 5 minutes everyday training him so episodes like that don’t happen. I cannot stand owners of badly trained dogs because they give the owners of well behaved dogs a bad name. If an owner can’t control his/her dog they should either keep it on a lead or don’t have one at all.
