Started to do more road miles on my hybrid in the last few weeks. Got up to 50-60 miles around the trough of bowland in Lancashire and have to agree with crashtestmonkey, god its so boring!. I only do it so I can improve my fitness so to enjoy my mountain biking more.

Also most owners get recomended by the vets to send in there dog in for the snip around the one year old mark. This is the ” teenage years” for dogs and castrated or not can be a right pain in the arse. I know of a lot of owners have said it made not one bit of difference to the dogs behaviour. Well apart from the vets being £80-150 better off 😉

Our dog is whole but we show him so he has to be. When out and about with him you you can tell if a bitch in season is around from his behaviour. Nose to the ground, foaming at the mouth ect. When he’s like that you just have to be aware of the situation and recall him as and when needed.

When I’m on my mtb on my own I vey rarely stop. When I’m out with my mates the same route can sometimes take an hour longer due to us putting the world to rights.

Yeh that was for the whole bike. Forks were goosed but even so it still was a steel.

Here’s my old deore disc model (2002 I think). My first foray into full suz and served me well. Sold it a couple of years ago for £180. Looking back I gave it away for that price.

Paramo windproof. Ticks all the boxes you require. Got the men’s version and it’s very good. Use it all the time from walking the dog to biking. If you wash it in nickwax proofer it will also stand a good shower.

Rain I can put up with. Ride mostly in the lake district so it drains pretty well.One of my best rides of the year near Ambleside was in consistent rain from start to finish. Wind however, I pigging hate it.

Really disappointed with India this summer. Was hoping for a real test for England but it turned out a walk in the park. This winters tour on the sub continent will see how good they are.

Was like you before I changed to flats a couple of years ago. As long as you get the right shoe/peddle combo you will be surprised how much grip you have. still use clipless on the road though.
