Also bear in mind most suspension systems are designed to work the most efficiently in the middle ring and the Hammerschmidt size wise is like a granny ring so it may muck up the suspension performance. Obviously no such issues with hard tails though.

Used to be a load of us skive off high school in Coniston in the late 80’s to watch the British RAC in grizedal. Couldn’t believe the speeds they got up to……

    Here’s a rather ” rotund ” pic of me when I was 16, in ’90

Thankfully got rid of my ( rather large amount ) puppy fat.

Can’t read that rainbow bridge poem. The last time I did I was a blubbering wreak. As I’ve just posted on the other post, RIP Rex 🙁

Always like running low pressures on my tyres which resulted in a lot of nip punctures. The last straw was three in the space of 5 minutes one day in the lakes. Converted to tubeless ( albeit the ” cheapo” ghetto method ) 12 months ago and haven’t had a single flat. Able to run even lower pressures ( 20f,23r) without any worries of nip punctures.

Keeping alive is more important to me than upsetting someone in a car.

Been knocked off twice on my commute to work. Broad daylight both times. “Sorry mate, didn’t see you” was what they both said. So from now on I have my 900(ish) lumun torch on flashing all the time. Always pointing down about 5 yards in front of me though. A driver once started moaning about how bright it was once. ” so you saw me then?” I said. “Saw you?, I couldn’t help but see you. ” Came his reply. ” Mission accomplished” I said back to him. And with that he nodded in a fair cop type of way. I’d rather be seen than be dead.

I know this may sound daft but in the long run it may help him. When I was young I can always remember being ill right up to the age of 14-16. Any cold, virus or bug I seemed to get it. But now I hardly ever become ill. The last cold I had must of been 15 years ago and I can’t remember the last time I had a sickness bug, even when everybody around me is going down with one. I’m no doctor but I believe all those times I was ill when I was a youngster has built up my immune system.
    Edit-
Obviously I’m not telling you to mtfu over things like taking him to hospital, illnesses like chicken pox and other fevers have to be taken seriously

Went round gisburn last week and saw Edd oxley doing a one to one session with a lady ( oh er ). So great rock could be worth looking up. You could always do a couple laps of the 8 while she’s being coached. A win win situation 8)
    Edit- beaten to it…

Hmmmm … I do believe there is a need for diplomacy skills and I reckon only blokes need it.
Seriously guys – you’re all far too quick to react in an aggressive manner rather than attempting to diffuse a situation.

It’s the caveman in us, we can’t help it 😆

Richc- he’s 26 3/4″ at the withers which is just under the maximum breed standard. Some of those pics were taken a while back so he’s grown slightly since then. Quite a few breeders are breeding bigger and more muscular dogs which is a shame because they are making them not fit for purpose. I.E the ability to have immense endurance and athletisim. There was a big thing at this years cruffs when a lot that qualified were thrown out because of there size.

Haven’t wanted another motorbike for 15 years but if I could afford one ( which I can’t 🙁 ) one of them would look very nice in my garage.

Moved over to mg1’s and shimano am40’s a couple of years ago after 10 years on spd’s. Very surprised at the amount of grip whilst pedalling. Started doing more technical trails and found flats much easier to get going again after a stall when climbing. Still use spd’s on my road bike though.
