I’m hoping to be attending this to. Les gave me a heads up about it a few weeks ago, but I’ve missed any threads on it. See you Saturday.

The ringmoor cottage descent was interesting today to say the least!
Glad I changed my back end to Medussa’s last week to. The rain held off though and I pretty much had the western side of the moor to myself.

Cornwall is for Surf boards and second rate rugby. For EVERYTHING else, it’s Devon….including “proper MTBing”
Not that I’m bias or anything.

There’s also a bridleway on the other side of the river, it starts out on the road in between Hill head and Churston and goes down to the Dart and then heads towards Kingswear, you can then loop back to the road for the higher ferry. Its mostly open lanes and bridleway, but its good for an hour or so blast.

Yunki, I hope the account of my “little off” on the nutcracker during our brief encounter yesterday didn’t have anything to do with you walking a bit of it. Was slippy though wasn’t it.

Bucko, I was also wondering yesterday if the nutcracker is do able with lights. I’m sure Trailmonkey or Slugwash could enlighten us.

I concur Foxy, some excellent riding today and some trails I’ve flown past before and not realised existed. Top day all round, cheers Trailmonkey, and everyone else for a thoroughly enjoyable day. I’m sure that the tea van on Houndtor are getting stingeyer with their tea bags though!

All down to those white wheels I reckon. Fantastic news Mark, and I look forward to our paths crossing again sometime, hopefully in the not to distant future.

12, but part of that was whilst sat on my bike as the ferry crossed over the river Dart, so maybe more like 11.7, do ferry crossings count if you sit on your bike?

@ STM, Bryn was in no state to Woof last night, the joy!
Great description of the course Sharki, it was almost like riding it again, although obvously I had to read it slower to get a better perspective from my point of view!
Cheers again to one and all, especially the Bullheart teams.

Cheers to all concerned. Fantasic riding, fantastic event, but more importantly, first class company. A weekend to remember.

Brings it all back, although my legs are still reminding me of the weekends exploits. Cheers to all involved for a fantastic 3 days, and special thanks to Les for putting it all together. Good times.

Great ride today, cheers to all involved. That climb up to Dunkery was emotional to say the least!
Part 3 tomorrow and the more familiar surroundings of Dartmoor, well for me at least.

I used to quite like Bt vision, but ditched it last year due to it being unable to keep up with the advances in HD, and the fact that nothing was in the pipe line to rectify this. If your not bothered about HD then IMO its not a bad service.

Hi OF. I’m on Les’s list. Whilst a cream tea isn’t something I’d normally turn down, I don’t think I could manage one mid ride. A cuppa and a choccy muffin will suffice for me. Looking forward to my weekend oop norf!, see you soon.

Princetown, Meavy, Burrator and back with the dog leading the way. Perfect weather, perfect day. One tired dog now flaked out under the table. Work tomorrow…bring it on :-)

I’m a bit concerned with this thread as I’ve been just been persuaded into doing a TT next week. The borrowed road bike will be here tomorrow to get some miles and practice on. I really don’t want to become one of those lycra boys slip streaming each other across Dartmoor, passing perfectly good trails without a second thought. But by the sounds of it, hopping on a road bike is like taking a hit of some class a drug !!!! I may have to tell them I’ll give it a miss!

The more notice the better I say. Any weekend with enough prior warning is fine. July…any weekend, I’m in.

It’s worth trying to wangle a day off work just for another slice of Yunki’s cake….but alas it’s not going to happen.

    Enjoy

Cheers for a fantastic ride crispy. And as most predicted, the shower was emotional when I got home! Thanks to all who went and made me feel so welcome, appoliges again for the slight delay in getting there.
