Almost, I’ve got an XL Karate monkey with 29×3″ front tyre.
Fantastic bike, but as with all surlys could do with more stack. But I can live with spacers, a stem with a bit of rise and 50mm rise bars. Sorely tempted by the new swift though.
Naff picture but a lovely ride.
40km of quiet back lanes and tracks. Short sleeves and no gloves for the first time in what feels like forever, hopefully get out again tomorrow and make the most of the weather.
A rubbish picture and not a very exciting ride, managed to force myself out and did around 30km of mainly back lanes and farm tracks.
It was my first ride since boxing day though and I bloody loved it!
I’ve got one on pre-order.
I’ve always fancied a stooge since I first saw them but being over 6 foot they were too small. I missed out on the large MK3 so I jumped on this when I saw that there would be a large.
Really excited for it, just need to decide whether to build it geared or singlespeed.
Should have mine built up tomorrow, everything but the dropper post has now turned up. Really looking forward to getting it built and ridden it’s been a pile of boxes for way too long.
Wish is read the other thread about winstanleys before ordering though.
It looks like they will be coming directly from the supplier so fingers crossed I should get them.
Forks arriving today.
Wheels ordered.
It looks like I’ve done the same as @snotrag it’s gone from being planned as a cheap hack build to a nice but expensive build.
Just got home to find mine has arrived.
It’s not quite as orange as I expected.
Was packaged reasonably well, the gear hanger was poking out of the box though, doesn’t seem to be bent so all’s good.
So I’ve ordered one, after much thinking I’ve decided it’s too good a deal to pass on. I wanted the bootzipper but I’ve got a straggler for bimbling duties, so I’m going to build this up for a bit more gnar use.
It’s a 60cm frame I’m around 6’3″.
Yeah I don’t think the angle of the picture is doing it any favours it looks relatively normal in person. The steerer is quite long as I’ve not decided where exactly I want my stem yet and the bars could do with being rotated forward a little.
If you’re not bothered about luxury this place http://www.jessejamesbunkhouse.co.uk/
Is good, stopped there a few times while I was working around there. It’s very basic but you have access to a kitchen area was around £15 a night last time I was there.
He’s a very interesting guy, ex mountain reacue, he loves a chat and a drink.
