I was at Birnam last night too. Didn’t know it was on and had only gone to the arts centre for a coffee after riding up there and saw all the posters. Good evening.

Hope they’re good, getting one installed this week. Will it last as long as the old Baxi that came out? They stopped making that model in 1984 8O

While it would do me good to meet up my social anxiety and low self esteem mean I rarely do, especially with strangers. Outside of work I think I socialised once in the last month, that’s fairly typical. Being so isolated really isn’t healthy.

    They will also price match.

When I bought my Garmin I got them to price match, then 10% off with CTC, then paid a chunk with vouchers.

Mine came with 10sp 34/28 too. Fitted an 11-34 cassette and 9sp mtb derailleur, works fine.

    and broke the saddle mount

I lost my rear light when the mount broke, presumably too many vibes and potholes. Half still clamped to the saddle, the other half and the light gone :(

    https://www.gov.uk/calculate-your-redundancy-pay

“You’ll normally be entitled to statutory redundancy pay if you’re an employee and you’ve been working for your current employer for 2 years or more.

    You’ll get:
    – half a week’s pay for each full year you were under 22
    – one week’s pay for each full year you were 22 or older, but under 41
    – one and half week’s pay for each full year you were 41 or older
Length of service is capped at 20 years.

If you were made redundant on or after 6 April 2017, your weekly pay is capped at £489 and the maximum statutory redundancy pay you can get is £14,670.”

Are most suicides in men because more of them go through with it, or is that 80:20 split between men and women also seen in those who have suicidal feelings?

More women consider it and attempt it but many more men ‘succeed’.

“The Adult Psychiatric Morbidity in England 2007 survey found that 19% of women had considered taking their own life. For men the figure was 14%. And women aren’t simply more likely to think about suicide – they are also more likely to act on the idea. The survey found that 7% of women and 4% of men had attempted suicide at some point in their lives. But of the 5,981 deaths by suicide in the UK in 2012, more than three quarters (4,590) were males.”

Bit of a disaster. The year started ok, march to april was dry and managed a few routes I’d wanted to try for a while. Knackered my back at the end of april and was off the bike for 5 or 6 weeks. Back on for a couple of weeks then away on hols for a fortnight. Back for 3 weeks and fell off cycling to work and have had my wrist in a splint for 3 1/2 weeks. Meh.

You can get motorbike phone/gps holders with a shroud round the screen but might be a bit bulky for cycling.

First block of NHS counselling was 4 years ago, 6 sessions then put into a group, can’t remember how many that was, maybe 8 sessions. Then about 2 or 3 years ago I had 6 sessions with a local charity. Currently back with the NHS, had a dozen sessions so far.

I applied for a Monzo card via queue jumping MSE link on 29th June and got a message via the app that it should arrive on 3rd July. It still hadn’t turned up when I left on the 6th. Meh!
