I think it depends on the individual, the counsellor and the approach. It hasn’t so far for me for lifelong social anxiety, low self esteem and depression. I don’t seem to be able to take the steps they ask or if I do it’s only once then back to my comfort zone and avoidance. Meds (Sertraline and Citalopram) made no difference either.
