    I am talking about people who have been riding motorcycles for decades still doing it – actively practising technique and analysing / reflecting on it.

    TBH it doesn’t work like that for me. When I try to think about what I’m doing it generally goes to pieces. If I just get on and ride it’s fine.

    I’ve done Mt Keen, just from Glen Esk side up and back though it can be done as part of a bigger day out. Rideable a fair way up.

    Also did Beinn a Bhuird about 15 years ago but sure I read somewhere that the track was done away with.

    I’ll be at the Scottish, It’s a pilgrimage innit.

    Tis a bit. My Dad was SSDT secretary for a few years late 90s and I did some route marking with him prior to that (on road parts only, good fun but very early starts, 4:30-5am).
    Cousin’s husband has competed about 25 times :-)

    I just got back into couple of months ago, did it late 70s-80s. Probably one of the cheapest motorsports to get into, picked up a Montesa 315 for 900 and a trailer for 150, still had my old boots, helmet was 45 and I just wear my mtb jacket, gloves and tracksters. Two local clubs have a trial each per month, 10 entry fee and 1/2 gal of fuel :-)

    Fuel price comparison for europe;

    Seems to be only us and the swiss that pay more for diesel than petrol.

    Been meaning to do that. Seeing as you’ve done it both directions, which is better?

    How about … from Callander take the cycle route by Loch Lubnaig then up Glen Ogle to Killin. Over the Ben Lawers road to Glen Lyon. At Innerwick take the Lairig Ghallabhaich to Rannoch then via Trinafour to the A9. Cross the A9 and take the Gaick pass to Kingussie.
    Someone else can suggest where to go from there …

    Just got back into motorbike trials earlier this month after a 24 year gap! Done 3 so far and really enjoying it :-)

    Yes. I was on a motorbiking holiday and watched the Tour at Galibier/Lautaret the day before then stayed that night in Bourg d’Oisans. Next day hired a bike and rode up. Quite a slog in the heat but good atmosphere with so many others doing it too.
    Also cycled the Stelvio pass on that holiday.

    Done a fair few of them by motorbike on touring hols. For a change of pace sometimes hire a bike for a day so have done Alp d’Huez on a road bike and the Stelvio (sometimes part of the Giro) on a full suss, deffo the wrong tool for an 1800m road climb :roll:

    I had a 1.7 for 5 years. Great fun to drive. Sadly went via the scrappage scheme when the MOT bills were getting silly.
    2 people and 2 bikes were no problem.
