Had them twice. First time was in 2010. Second time was about 18 months ago and had laser treatment under general anaesthetic. Going for a pee afterwards was torture and looked like beetroot juice. Had a stent in for 3 weeks. No anaesthetic or sedative when they go in to take the stent out 8O
Similar issues here. Shortsighted (-4.0) and been wearing contacts for over 30 years but now struggle with closeup stuff and use +2 reading glasses over the contacts. Wonder if I can get away with wearing just one contact :?
OP, you could be talking about me in your post. Low self esteem and social anxiety all my life leading to long term depression. Feel I’ve missed out on so much that life should have to offer and at 50+ feel I’ve missed my chances. Going through NHS counselling (again!), it helps to talk but can’t see it curing anything. Meds make no difference. Sorry you’re in the same boat.
I went from 100mm 26″ Anthem to 140 27.5 Trance. TBH don’t really notice the extra travel that much, what made a far bigger difference was going from 71 degree head angle to 67. Penalty is the Trance is 3.5 lbs heavier.
Secondly, I have hypermobile thumbs to the extent that I can independently bend the upper portion of my thumb back at 90° to the lower portion. Useless for everything except frightening the squeamish
I’ve been going abroad on the motorbike for years. Rosyth was handy but now I go from Newcastle. If you’ve got Tesco club card points you can use them with DFDS, you get 3 times the value to a max of 70 quid in vouchers / 210 quid towards your ferry fare.
I had a kidney stone blasted away about 18 months ago under general anesthetic and a stent left in for 3 weeks between kidney and bladder. Couldn’t believe it when they said the stent would be removed by endoscope without anesthetic or sedative. Not a pleasant experience, though peeing after that was a doddle compared to after having the stone lasered.
Might be about to go through it all again. CT scan last week for another suspected stone and waiting on the results.
It was ok going up but didn’t go right round the loch as the last time was very boggy. At the far end I took the track to Tullimet then Ballinluig for lunch :-)
