3 bikes, a Soul for most MTBing, a crosser for when I’m in the mood, and a single speed currently set up for family riding, riding to town and wet weather rides – might stick some mud tyres on and venture into….the woods.

I actually like many of the cars on this thread. I suppose with the 70’s cars like AMC pacer and Allegro they have passed from being ugly to being retro.

The ssangyong and the Pontiac though

I was thinking about it muchly a couple of years ago, particularly interested in primary education as I feel it’s sad and detrimental for kids to be educated in an environment where there are no males. My daughters school has zero male teachers with just the head being a male. However my partner is a stay at home mum for the moment and there’s no way I can afford to give up my job, so kinda stuck really.

Tried Media Monkey – didn’t really like it, I’m now trying Songbird, not sure if they’re Linuxy – yes it seems it is

iTunes is truly tragic – only beaten in the crap media player stakes by the abomination that is/was Creative MediaSource

if you don’t understand how good an MPs package is, especially pension, (also consider allowances, perks etc) how much it will cost everybody (inc you) in the future (ie when they are not working) then you might want to try some research.

The point is I don’t want to consider perks, privileges and allowances and I don’t want them to either. I want them paid at least as much as a mid-top ranking civil servant and then that’s it, no moonlighting, no gifts. A very decent wage and no distractions.

Bimbler, I don’t think rank & file MPs are worth that much really

Well they get that now anyway. Check out what your MP “earns” “in expenses”>>>

    They work for you[/url]

My MP gets £128k in expenses.

The problem is MPs are paid too little. Every time they have a debate to discuss their pay or an enquiry says that they should be paid the going rate for what they do (or who they are)there is uproar in the media. This has led to the situation where they are paid via the back door – ie. expenses.

Pay them £200k/£150k (whatever)pa – but with no expenses, other than legitimate ones (travel etc) no John Lewis list, no second dwelling expenses. Provide office and secretarial support at Westminster.

And that 200k should be their sole earnings, no company directorships, no part time legal work etc. They should also have to attend the house and vote on a certain % of business. No part time dilettante MPs, proper professionals paid properly.

I can see why so many pubs are going out of business though. £6.50 plus for a couple of pints , only a couple of years ago when I still used my ST at the footy it was £4.50. £2 increase in two years – why?

Not sure in your particular case. But I was chatting to the owner of a camping shop, mainly for “family/car” camping and any polyester tents that they put out in April/May for their summer display will be trashed by UV by the time they come to pack it up.

Another vote for Endura. This time the FS260’s these are for warmer weather but I run hot anyway and when it’s really cold I wear some Northwave leg warmer things underneath. Coming up for their fourth year.

I’ve just bought 4 pairs of sintered pads. I’ll stick one on the back brake tonight and I’ll be interested to compare it to the Formula sintered that’s about 3 rides old in the front brake.

Never happened to me during the times I’ve been off the booze. I think if you’re a moderate drinker cutting out the booze altogether makes no difference whatsoever to feelings of sprightliness.

Return to Toby at Propel, he’s really helpful. I had the same problem that Crispy Bacon describes – the material on the seals on some early K24’s was of the wrong type and eventually broke down due to reacting with DOT4

We, the taxpayers and therefore partial owners of RBS et al will never get our money back if the banks aren’t allowed to carry out business more or less as normal (no toxic derivatives pleased). Sponsorship is part of marketing and advertising and as such should be allowed to continue – it’s how business is done.

Thanks for all the advice people.

I hate cats, I hate their sneaky feline ways, I hate the sh1t they leave in my garden and the corpses of all the birds that they kill :-( Plus I’m allergic to the rapacious little buggers

The SO was seriously thinking about greyhounds but I don’t really like them that much so that’s out. In terms of breeds I really like Springers but I know they’re pretty crazy, so I think we’re going the mutt route. At the mo the Missus is a stay at home mum so there’ll be somebody around and they’ll get a good walk on the way to school in the morning/lunchtime/afternoon

On average I eat in a Little Chef twice a year, I thought that the breakfast was already a little better as were the chicken nugget things the kids ate. However the £26 bill for a breakfast, a sandwich and two kids meals plus drinks reminded me why we didn’t eat in there more often on family road trips.
