There's definitely a reaction to the chippy anti Englishness of the Scots down here yes.

My 8 yo daughter is really enjoying the naughtiest girl at school series. Not quirky though, at least I don't think so.

6'1" (long legs)

18" Scandal 29er – just on the cusp of this being a bit small but fits well with a lot of seatpost and 100mm stem

58cm CX – 56cm felt too small, this felt a bit big, went for the big, maybe need a shorter stem.

19" Nail Trail SS'ed utility bike – never liked the geometry on this, tall and short

Pinged my back as I leapt out of bed this morning. I only leapt out as I was in such a good mood due to the prospect of riding in the sun and (whisper it) dry trails. Ho hum, I guess two years is too long to stop pilates :-(

Thanks uplink. The old HD is pretty much superceded now I can only get much bigger drives with more cache. How can you tell wich of the drives is the wrong'un?

Is the dead one still under warranty?

No, the PC is about 5 years old.

Do I need to buy a similar hard drive in terms of size etc, or doesn't it matter?

Yep. We use some old school camping roll mats and fleece blankets. Makes a huge difference.

If you're planning on streaming media around it's prolly worth looking at something with DLNA – it's meant to be the new standard for streaming media so TV's ipods etc can talk directly to any attached storage

Kinds of local in Hertford – all I can say is there are lots of restaurants in Hertford

My recommends would be, if you want ethnic go to Baan Thitiya (the other Thai restaurant is closed for refurbishment), if you want modern British type affair I've heard lots of good things about The Bluecoat. My own preference for a relaxed bite is Lussmans. The only one to swerve ime would be Bollywoods, unless you like a loud dressy Indian restaurant with average food and cursory service.

Prolly worth booking wherever you go as Hertford gets very busy at the weekend.

Da Bomb

I like this one

DA BOMB

Used as an interjection to convey emotion of excitement of the speaker, which usually has no
grammatical connection to the rest of the sentence and simply demonstrate the explosive feeling
of a particular experience.

With regards to Truvativ BB's, I bought a Stylo chainset last year (bargainacious £60) not realising Truvativ BB's were not the same as "normal" EBB's. After reading up on them I thought I'd been a bit of a mug as everyone says the BB's don't last. Sure enought after about 2 months they started feeling a little gritty and lumpy. I bought myself a Hope BB and adaptors to replace the GXP but thought I'd just regrease the bearings and see how they got on. I really packed those mofos and a year and another regrease later they're still running fine (wee bit gritty if truth be told). So maybe GXP BB's aren't so bad after all and it's just really pss poor grease? Maybe I'm just lucky?

2 bikes? A fixie or SS for the commute maybe and a secondhand hardtail for the weekends.

Ours have been going since they were about 6 months-ish. They have mostly enjoyed it. However if the goal is to give your children a "head start" in swimming compared to other children who start lessons at a later age then I don't think it really works.

I just want someone to develop some sea algae farms that capture CO2 and can be rendered into a complex hydrocarbon for use in cars. Come on scientists! Show your metal!

I probably will just because I feel I ought to but there's really sod all point, the Tories got over 50% last time and a mahooosive majority, so a bnit of a wasted vote. Some kind of proportional/transferable vote (ha just realised that wouldn't matter in my constituency anyway) system can't come soon enought imo.

Hated mine, really wanted to like it (I had spent £70 on it after all) but had to flog it on here after 3 rides, most uncomfortable saddle I ever owned. :-(

Jury trial is a great idea but is sadly flawed in many instances; rape (often one persons word against another), fraud (complexity) and organised crime (initimidation of witnesses).

It's not as if countries which use Civil Law as the basis of their legal systems are all hopelessly barbaric illiberal hell holes

Yep I've seen them sandwiched between B1502 and A10 and completely visible from the A10 so in no way cheeky really. Accessible from the B1502, opposite that small garden centre place ish, been there for a while iirc – maybe abandoned?
