A lot more manufacturers now in the headphone/IEM market now than there was when I bought my expiring CX300’s (mark 1), just to reiterate they will almost certainly be fakes at that price.

Love my Quito but it seems a bit too fragile (made from the Analogy stuff) and too nice to mountain bike in. Still I hardly ever need to wear a waterproof anyway.

what rims? – my 2.4 rrs have narrowed significantly when swapping from 24 to 19 mm (internal) rims

loved the look of the rims on the Jones in ST this month, are they Velocity P35? Never heard of Velocity before but they are an Australian rim maker (moving to US soon) and do their rims in loads of colours. Not sure if they have a UK distributor but seem available from US. They’re gonna be next rims I think, although I think my TN719’s are unkillable.

    No.

It’s a ponzi scheme fuelled by the idea of constant growth, unsustainable. Definitely support their right to strike though and if I was in the public sector I’d be right out there (or more probably on my bike/in bed/in the pub) with them. I’d still know though that the current contract is pie in the sky.

See one regularly on my commute, great looking bike but the one I must see must be one of the smaller engined one or maybe ridden by an extremely slow rider because it is slowwwwwwww

The missus has, another name that I seem to remember is Jo Nesbo. A bit more leftfield and humorous than the Scandies you may also consider the Dr Siri series bu Colin Cotterill and the Montalbano series by Andrea Camilleri

I’d go hope and flows. Shame Mavic don’t build a slightly wider rim. Sun ringle black flag look good too.

Psa black flags going cheap on crc £175 f&r

How would that stand up against some of the dealextreme xml t6 stuff?

Pretty easy to root, surprisingly so, I prevaricated about it for ages but the continual “low memory” icon pushed me to do it, it’s like having a new phone really. I’ve only just discovered about s-off but it’s like an ultimate root.

    What is s-off[/url]

You can brick your phone though.

Just bought some Bolle Contour clear for night riding, unused as yet but very light and optically great, much better than a crappy pair I bought years ago. They do them in various tints, look a bit roadie maybe not enough coverage for mtb? Their ESP lens looks like a good UK day riding lens too. I’m sold, depending on how badly they steam up or not.

What do you guys do for packed lunches?…I eat one everyday and it’s usually bread dominated…microwave in work but thats it

I’ve been eating variations on bean salads, the most common one I eat is about 225g of green lentils (or puy) 225g of bean of choice, Cannellini, borlotti, haricot all work well. Prepare, add a dressing of choice I usually add extra virgin olive oil (get a robusto), white wine vinegar, salt + pepper, capers, sun fried tomatoes – as I make in advance garlic, spring onion etc gets a bit pongy. I then get something meaty from the local deli to go with it. Should be enough for 3 or 4 days, other day I’ll get a chicken shish mmmmmmmm chicken shish.

Thanks, it’s very easy to get carried away and over-spec stuff when friends ask you for advice.

When they do I immediately tell them to get an Islabike, but even for relatively well off people £350 on a kids push bike (and they need 2) seems a stretch for bimbling along prepared paths and riding up and down the street.

    the loss of flatulence

lol – jesus I’ve been dropping huge quantities of uber nasties, I just blamed it on the massive quantities of beans and pulses I’ve been eating, must have been the white bread cheating I did last week.

Me too Morgs, stay strong. My nth attempt over the last 9 years.

Giving up is fairly easy, I’ve found, preventing yourself from having a celebratory “yay I’ve quit smoking” cigarette less so.

    I’m giving these a go

too early to say if they help or not as my cravings don’t normally kick in till about day 4. Having said that I did wake up at 4:10 this morning, not sure if that’s a side effect or coincidence.

I liked them when we were looking, I think a lot of the poor reliability reviews were for one particular model (maybe the CVT one?) which were shocking apparently and the customers were treated appallingly by ford. Ultimately it wasn’t really big/flexible enough for us.

Depending on the rules of this notional 25k to spend I’d prolly by a van and get it campered out. The sprinter on page 1 looks good but too lux for my tastes

Energy savers seem to last twice as long as normal tyres btw. And they grip just as well now. They are not just a harder compound.

    What’s the trade off?

Yup Google listen is the one I use, browsecast will also browse all BBC shows and let google listen download them, as surprisingly for Google, searching for pods is crap. Doggcatcher seems the big paid for app – interested to see what it’s like but not £4 interested. Stitcher will let you stream some stuff but it’s a bit meh imo. Just discovered that there’s another one called BeyondPod

My old man was a nurse at Moorfields Eye Hospital, my yoot was punctuated with the latest horror stories of how people had injured/ blinded themselves in stupid ways.

Consequently I always wear eye protection of some sort, have some Bolle safety glasses for night riding and Specialized adaptalites for the day (why the hell did they stop making them?). The Bolles give you goldfish bowl vision and steam up very easily, so as a lucky recipient of free pair of Oakley Jawbones I’ll be treating myself to some clear lenses.

I use a windstopper one from Northwave, not sure if they do them anymore, but it’s brillant although does make you a bit mutton.

If properly cooked, somewhere between bloody as hell or burnt to a crisp, resting makes the most difference imo
