What is the accepted term for non-smart phones now that EVERYONE has a “Smart” phone then?

    Feature phone, I think.

Thinking about “downgrading” or possibly just not upgrading, Smartphones can be such a time thief if you’re not careful, but so damn useful.

The computer on board is considerably less powerful than my phone

Mars Curiosity rover on-board computer specifications: 200MHz CPU, 256MB RAM, 2GB SSD drive. Runs VxWorks as operating system.

I’ve had, in succession, a hugely swollen ankle,

Darn sarf but I had an old lady style cankle last week, never had that before, daughter needed antibiotics for her bites, Doctors Surgery was apparently “overrun” with peeps calling about insect bites.

I went through a lot of this thinking when I moved into a house with a pond, being tight and skint I just bought some very good trellis (I can stand on it and I’m 80kg) and then just let the plants grow up around it, job done. But then again I have girls, some boys are a little more stupid adventurous.

It was the Coleman Comfort double that we used to buy, went through 3, never got more than 3 seasons out of one. They can be pretty sturdy though, the remaining chamber of the last one we had was used as a trampoline by numerous kids for a 2 days straight and didn’t pop.

We’ve binned off air beds after going through a few air mattresses, also had enought of all the attendant insulation to stop the air getting cold and condensing, we bought some Alpkit Wideboys, very happy, much better nights sleep.

Barney (tsk) st nearly 5 months old

Barney now at 10 months old – apols for cruddy phonecam pix

He’s alright, calmed down massively thank f. Fast as a fast thing, has become totally ball obsessed and seems to bring the best out of other dogs, has hugely impacted on my riding as I’m always walking the blooming dog.

s there any chance that radio communication between the cyclists and team managers will get banned in future?

I think it would certainly make for a better, more interesting race, but the teams/riders are dead against it

I too have just signed up with Direct Line house insurance, I thought the cover for bikes was £1000 but checking Direct Line Home Insurance Plus cover – bicycles are insured “Up to Contents sum insured”

Much Cheaper than John Lewis too

I got an e-class back from the airport last week and the driver told me it had 448000miles on the clock. A replacement gearbox after 300k and wear tiems. It didn’t rattle or squeek and you be hard pressed to tell how many miles it had done unless you knew.

Similar story, got in an eclass from airport, chatting to driver, I thought the car was newish but it had 260k on the clock. Not a rattle or aqueak, I was amazed, and nothing done except regular servicing. I guess MB are back in terms of reliability? Although coming to think about it I’ve seen a few MB 61’s and 12’s stuck by the roadside/in the middle of the road recently, very odd.

If you only do 5000 miles per year that would make it a 21 year old car, not that many of those about

As above I’ve seen 2 together but not 4. Looked into getting one when they first came out, but a bit excessive for a family of 4. Saw them survive the winds in North Norfolk in that last big blow we had back in June, impressed.

Are they really midge proof? That would be the acid test for my missus.

Just found these peeps, Karma Canvas, they have mesh front door + zig

Does seem to be a bit of price fixing going on.

A 4m would be fine for a couple, canvas is much less flappy than polyester.

As far as I understand they’re pretty much the same, rebranded from either China or the Czech republic, you used to be able to buy them far cheaper (half price-ish) in Europe but checking the prices on Obelink they seem to have gone up there too. Partly no doubt because of the pound/euro but also the prices that UK peeps seem prepared to pay. I really fancied one but the uk rip off put me off and the missus wasn’t a fan either.

A quick Bing found me these chaps, heavier weight/better canvas, cheaper

Also these guys Seem better quality, a bit more spendy though and a bonkers 6m bell

    So either

    LED lantern

    Plus some D batteries

    or maybe

    Camping Gaz lantern

    Plus Gas canisters and mantles,

gas is nicerer but LED won’t burn your tent down hmmmm

I’m looking for something to replace our never very good fluorescent light.

Now the kids are a bit older tending towards Gas (campingagaz jobbie, brightest + nice light “color”). Some of the LED lanterns seem get good reviews and should be much better than the stuff available a few years ago if they’ve followed the trend of bike lights.

GM made over 1bn dollars in the first quarter of 2012, they have used fear to force workers to take an effective pay cut. The unions were basically powerless to do anything but agree to any deal offered.

The fact that he wanted to make London “the beacon for Islam” lost him a lot of votes, possibly the entire Jewish vote right there. A lot of people will remember the cronyism of his tenure when Lee Jasper embezzled funded various organisations with hundred of thousands of pounds with nothing to show for it. Despite all this it was the tax dodging what done it. No one likes a hypocrite.
