Have you tasted it? It’s absolutely disgusting. All I can say is that those teenagers must have a very different idea of what tastes good – maybe because they were brought up on Cola and other sugar-laden gloop.

I’m 46, in the 70’s my Unigate milkman used to deliver pop, Corona in glass bottles. So it’s not just kids of today who have been brought up on “Cola and other sugar-laden gloop”

Comfy chairs, a lot of camping is sitting.

Decent lantern, gas ones are the best but they’re a bit scary, so decent battery lamp.

    Concur with pillow.

    ime simple ? nice.

If you’re doing it yourself cook double or 4x and freeze.

If you ever see these Meah curry sauces [/url]around then they’re well worth getting as a store cupboard/fridge standyby for a quickish curry.

The jar stuff is meh at best imo.

I’ve found Thai stuff to be a bit quicker and easier to cook especially using Mae Ploy red/green curry paste, the ultimate Thai meal “cheat”

This dude obviously thought protein was harmful

I hear good things about hemp protein for the lactose intolerant.

All high end phones have decent cameras, certainly worthy of snapshots. If you want the best camera on a phone then I think the Nokia 1020 “wins”. There’s also the Samsung S4 Zoom, which as the name suggest has a big old optical zoom.

Even the humble old Nexus 5 (which is what I’ve got) has got a decent camera now (thanks to software update) , tieing with the S5 on this test

Eskimos and black Africans, both homo sapiens but with minor genetic difference, each better adapted to their local habitat. Just like pyrenean and Slovenian bears.

The bears will adapt in a couple of generations. 4‰ of Alaskan population is African American.

Genetically brown bears = brown bears. On a population level they’re identical. Given similar environment the Slovenian (Brown) bears (you can almost feel your distaste) will become just as adept as the Alpine (Brown) bears were.

The rest of your post is based on your “prediction”.

I’m intrigued. Did they admit that the Pyrenean bears are Slovenian and the wolves are back after years of absence

I’m intrigued, do bears have nationality?

Had one of these a few weeks ago. I had to go for a blood test, then after a week or so I went to the GP practice and they go over your blood results and measure your weight and blood pressure.

I was very taken with a Boston Terrier I met recently, bags of character. Love Cockerpoos but more medium sized really. Can’t go wrong with a Border Terrier, great dogs.

Mirroring the screen or VPN-ing into the phone from the tablet might be a way around it

Ah got it ta. It wouldn’t be alot of use – just evenings really and not downloading data so it wouldn’t ‘spike’/alert the provider anyway to possibly hotspottin

If you’re using it at home then you realise tablets are all about wifi?

Seems a good deal but I’ve never seen the point in buying these ‘tablets’ with how good mobiles are nowadays, I mean I can do everything that thing can do on my HTC one right?
Vodafone keep pestering me all the time offering me these tablets for free because I’ve been such a good customer! yeah right…
So apart from it being bigger what’s the point? Or is that the point, I don’t get it..

Size is the point. Phones can do everything that tablets can do and are usually higher spec but tablets are much better for consuming media, playing games etc on. Reading Comic books on Comixology and the like is just about do-able on a 5″ Nexus 5 but much better on a tablet. If you’re not going to do any of that then stick with the phone and don’t bother with a tablet.

    Thanks Smudge, nice one.

Made one of my daughters very happy and the other pretty miserable. Happy daughter wanted one of these very much but wasn’t prepared to spend £200 on one, miserable daughter got one as the entirety of her birthday present last month.

Great tablets, if I were to critique it they’re a touch laggy compared to Nexus devices no doubt due to semi-shonky LG Android skin. 8.3 is a very good inbetweeny size for a tablet, makes 7″ seem teeny and “too small” in comparison.

Neal Stephenson had this all nailed in the “Diamond Age”, drones, a more advanced form of 3d printing (nano technology based) and tablet computers, in 1995.

Lots of nice bikes here, (realistic) front runners for me are Croix De Fer (wish they still used BB7’s) and Peregrine.

Had “the chat” with our white goods vendor (a proper white goods geek, of all things) recently. Only Miele are as good they were, if you haven’t got Miele money then a mid priced Bosch is the pick of the bunch. Our 10 year old Bosch refuses to die, despite sounding like a walrus with toothache at some points in the cycle.

You can put a Peregrine together for less than you might think. I got the frame, forks and a selection of bits (levers, no-name bar tape, gatorskins, Open Pros, SLX hubs, spokes, chainring, chain, tubes, ) to the value of £940 from A Shoppe. Bought a couple of things cheap from . on-one – BB7 calipers, bars, headset) and a few bits from the parts bin – ST cranks, BB, saddle, seatpost.

Started SS for fun and savings. Bit later I bought a cassette, Dura Ace bar end shifters and rescued an old mech for a ride on the SDW. Oh, some knobblies too.

600 after tax (ish) + £150 in bits from On-One, + parts bin stuff for the 1st SS road build.

I can send you the spreadsheet if you’re interested?

Yes thanks, would be very interested to see that, email in profile I think

I’m on a Singular Kite. It’s real nice for exploring the dirt back roads

Singular Kite does look good but I’ll be selling my straight up CX bike (Focus Mares Cross 2008 in 58cm, less than 700 miles if anyone is interested) to fund this purchase just want something more versatile and comfortable than a CX race bike.

I still like my Deuter Race EXP air, it’s got one of those mesh thingies to reduce sweat – not sure it works but it means it does sit well – only problem is it seems to have gone up in price by over 50% in a couple of years. It’s also not massive at 12l + 3l.
