Crocs and seal skins socks if you’re in and out of the tent/van. Not so much if you’re out and about

but I just don’t get it.

The thinking may be that one small speaker is better than two tiny ones and that you don’t really get much stereo separation with speakers 5cm apart.

My daughter got a ViewQuest Retro mini for her birthday, not a fan of the styling but can’t knock it for features or sound – quite jealous.

Question for the fishing folk – seen loads of you about this year – seemingly more than normal in Herts maybe?

Anyway question is why do so many dress up like paramilitaries? Swap the AR-15’s for fishing rods and a ton of gear you look like these dingbats

Current Nexus 6 is on sale but a huge phone.

    Moto G – for budget

Moto X Play budgetish big beast with big battery available now

Moto X Style – Still on the cheaper side of things again a big beast 5.7″ but flagship specs, available soon

I found “The Girl With All the Gifts”, a great listen on the talking books.

Also, a bit formulaic, but Peter James, “Roy Grace” series is a compelling listen, bought one in an audible deal, since bought all 11.

Tried everything except group riding to enjoy riding road, just can’t get on with it, so consequently I occasionally go exploring on my CX and investigate off road

The other analogy then would be, deciding to have a go at mountain biking, rushing out and buying a £4000 carbon mince tank and then, after a couple of rides, realising you didn’t like mountain biking.

But but but that would make an evo like a £2000 Giant or something 😀

If you can just stick it in the garden, even if it’s raining for a few days afterwards it only takes a dry day and you’ll be fine especially if sunny/windy, you can then reproof, get the seam sealer out at your leisure, we had our main tent up in the garden for about 5 days this time last year (mainly due to our laziness)

Disagree with Wrecker and Banana, buying Ego stuff is like getting into Mountain Biking and buying a £500 hardtail, you know you’re going to upgrade within the year and you may as well have bought the £1k hardtail from the off.

Plus, never mind the metaphors, the bigger stuff works much much better, if you’re a heavy smoker you’re much more likely to have success with some mid range kit than the low end stuff, even the mid range kit that I linked to above is what, a week on the fags, two?

Things have moved on from the days of Ego batteries and are much much better know, although I was able to quit my 30 year (jeez) smoking habit with them, I’d recommend something like

    WISMEC PRESA 40W

    or

    Innokin Cool Fire IV

I went for the former based on the larger battery size and a couple of disappointments with Innokin products.

    Combine with Kanger SubTank Mini

    and you’re good to go

Some people like their phones to be pocket devices and don’t want to be forced down the route of ever expanding screen size. There is a diminishing choice of decent phones who haven’t followed the supersize fashion and an ignored market segment.

Have you got particularly small pockets? Because my daily driver Nexus 5 + large case fit in all of my pockets as does a Note 4. Maybe the diminishing choice reflects the fact that the market segment is small and, well, bigger screens are just better.

After being with Android virtually from the beginning, I’m getting tempted by the new iPhones, mainly because of the anti-Googleness of the recent pronouncements from Cupertino, and the fact they finally have some decent sized screens, 4″ – ha!

No back button though – how that work?

Often wondered, kids and the poor aside, why people buy really cheap smartphones?

If you can make it to Hertford I’ve got a 2007 vintage Outwell Montana 6 (big heavy tent) looking for a new home, I’ve the tent, footprint groundsheet and sun canopy, it’s getting old and the polyester on the roof is getting a bit “crispy” so obviously towards the end of its useable life but might last a couple more seasons. Oh there’s also a patched hole on the side which happened in a big blow last year in Dorset. Free to a good home.

Steer clear of anything pre-1945 unabridged, boring

    😀

For 10 and 11 year olds, and prolly under O-Level GSCE age.

Just finished the Count Of Monte Cristo, great story but another “book” written as a serial and suffers for it. See also Dickens and the aforementioned Boring Garden.

Under no circumstances read “The Secret Garden”, struggled through that turgid over long “classic” with my 10 year old in the summer term. Gove owes me untold hours, if there’s a way to halt children’s desire to read it’s getting them to read the unexpurgated “classics” outside of proper EngLit classes.

My recommends would be Narnia, Hobbit, Lord of The Flies, Wyndham etc. Steer clear of anything pre-1945 unabridged, boring.

I’d go for it, iPads are generally much better than the android equivalents, in fact the best Android tablet I’ve used is still the 2013 Nexus7, I’ve recently bought a Nexus 9 which was absolute garbage returned it and have a Samsung Tab S which is brilliant hardware wise, TouchWiz however while not as craptacular as I’ve been led to believe is excrement.

I’d be inclined to do a clean install, probably quicker than all the checking and tweaking and with a more certain outcome.

The cheapest way I’ve found other than stealing them from the Internet is by spending a load of money. If you buy 24 credits from Audible for something like £110,this gives you the cheapest cost per book you can then supplement these with the Daily Deals and the frequent sales.

In your situation just try and get one of the many audible trials either one credit free when you sign up or 3 months membership at a discount. Good bonus of Audible is that if u you don’t like the book they refund your credit /cash

I have a problem with iTunes too. Downloaded an update (on pc) for it after ignoring the update thingy for months/years – 154MB (ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY FOUR MEGABYTES) bloody nora, that’s massive.

Shop around for a Note 4, they’ll be punting them out cheap as the Note 5 is on the way, maybe last Samsung flagship to have SD card. Also some Samsung Galaxy S5 can still be had for cheap

Dunno. But I was in the City the other day and walked past a couple of “hole in the wall” foreign exchange bureaux and there were queues outside both of them – so I guess they must have good rates?

Although the weather in the south has been ok in terms of rainfall sunshine it’s been pretty cool, we’ve only had, what? 6 or 7 days with temps over 20C plus windy, so this

Cool, dry, and very windy is my impression of the ‘summer’ so far

    .

Good for the renewable energy production I suppose.

Another vote for Full Fat Outlook, much better than Thunderbird imo due to all the calender etc integration. Overall I’m just a huge fan of Office 365, just integrates so well – finally Microsoft have pulled their finger out. Outlook for Android is also pretty good ime and is now my Android go to email client.

One Plus One as above or Motorola Moto X – both on sale, both brilliant high end phones being marked down to make way for 2015 models.

Edit: If you’re considering Windows the 640 is getting great reviews, £130 from Carphone Warehoose
