FYI Lenovo installs a rootkit which reinstalls all of their crapware even if you delete it. Lenovo are the same company that installed Superfish adware malware on to their computers until early this year.[/url]

Recently replaced my Brasher Supalites which wore out after 2 years (never liked them much anyway otherwise I’d have them re-soled) with some Scarpa Terra GTX, just much better (to me) than the Brashers, comfortabilish out of the box but after a couple of walks perfect. Trail walking rather than hill boots though.

wrt spirits is it worth getting high end stuff (obvs will for G&T) or just stick to the mid-end big brand stuff?

Very pleased with our (Grand) Scenic Mk III (please don’t let this be a jinx), nothing wrong with it in 4 years of ownership. They’re probably one of the most popular cars I see on French motorways and I notice there are quite a few of them popping up as taxis.

Vitamin D3 10,000 iu, Fish Oil, Multi Vitamin and a probiotic. Pleasingly enough all the stuff at the top of the Snake Oil chart with the exception of multi vitamins. Why? Dr Rhonda Patrick on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast. Definitely worth a listen.

Interesting to see the qualifications of the naysayers and how recently they’ve had their bloodwork done

My interactions with young people (daughters are 13 and 10) have shown me a far better mannered, polite and helpful bunch than my generation of 70-80’s kids ever were. It’s the lack of lead in petrol dontcha know, perhaps.

Really wanted to upgrade to the 6p from my N5 but my N5 is still working perfectly but I couldn’t quell the “want” however this video has gone a long way to extinguish that particular fire.

It’s bloody annoying vets bills but it isn’t a massive money making business, daughter expressed interest in becoming a vet, I looked how much they earned, answer not that much

Fridge is from Refrigerator, their brand is a play on that.

    twas why I said possibly

fridge (n.) Look up fridge at Dictionary.com
shortened and altered form of refrigerator, 1926, an unusual way of word-formation in English; perhaps influenced by Frigidaire (1919), name of a popular early brand of self-contained automatically operated iceless refrigerator (Frigidaire Corporation, Detroit, Michigan, U.S.), a name suggesting Latin frigidarium “a cooling room in a bath.” Frigerator as a colloquial shortening is attested by 1886.

Gout, had my first and only proper attack after a couple of camping trips last year involving mucho barbeque + ale = 5 weeks of pain when even the weight of the duvet on your toe would lead to unbelievable stabs of pain.

Managed to avoid a repeat by cutting down on meat, don’t really drink ale or wine anymore.

I go for the annual 24 credits for £110, works out much cheaper on a cost per credit basis and with the daily deal, £2 or £3 per book, and occasional 2 for 1 sale keeps me going in listening material

The first three, got into Metal around when NoTB was released, kind of gave up on them and the whole NWOBHM/trad metal sound when thrash happened. Much prefer the punky energy of the early stuff

Royal Canin isn’t great imo, chock full of Maize, Wheat and other fillers. From looking at the ingredients in RC the only thing premium about it is the price

isnt that gramafon thing just a bigger more expensive version of that chromecast audio jobbie

Pretty much, but it’s been around for a while now, isn’t google, supports AllPlay network (not sure if Chromecast does this) looks nicer, has an ethernet port and according to their website act as a wifi hotspot. But yeah could easily use ChromeCast Audio.

The best way to get Spotify into your stereo is

1/ Buy a Spotify connect amp/media streaming unit
2/ This thing called Gramofon which seems to have expanded to a lot of streaming services

really cool that he drilled a bore hole for his own water source, but I was a bit disappointed he didn’t do a wind turbine or something to generate his own electricity.

They didn’t mention sewerage at all – presumably its on a sceptic tank?

They only mentioned that water and sewerage cost £20K, not sure how a pump out truck could get down that track.

We’ve a lurcher, which is cool but the non running dog (whippet) part of Barney is a collie, and he’s a bit collie-ish, too damn smart for his own good.

In terms of the dogs you listed I encounter a lovely Spinone, he’s just so great, super friendly, super smart looking, can apparently go all day in their comedic trotting manner. I totally love this dog but every time I see him he’s absolutely covered in mud, I think they love rivers/marshes/big puddles even more than springers.

Edit Oh yeah, Spinone is definitely a big rather than medium dog.

Super popular in my Herts locale are Cockapoos, they just seem like such perfect dogs, just happy and scatty.

Friend has a French bulldog – incredibly cute and characterful, hates trains, cost £2k

I see it comes with Marshmallow – had that been seen yet?

It’s been in the wild for a while now in the various developer previews, haven’t bothered myself but it’s meant to be a tune-up tweak of Lollipop rather than a new-new OS. Certainly from the videos of the new Nexii the OS looks pretty much indistinguishable from Lollipop.

Having been down the road with no brand Chinese android devices with a tablet back in the early days of tablets, the whole thing is a gamble. In all likelihood there will be no/very few software updates (it’s got a Meditek SoC, so will be untouched by the modding community) and no guarantee/warranty. Most of the componentry on these ultra low cost devices will be bottom shelf stuff and the software will be crap, even the bigger Chinese manufacturers can’t do software, hell even Samsung and especially LG do crap software.

If you’re happy with these caveats and the phone lasts a year then bargain. If not, not so much.

Hmmm not sure what to do now, 6p is a bit more expensive than I hoped, but I’m a spec whore and so torn between Nexus 6p and Xperia Z5. Or maybe just hold on to my og Nexus 5 which is till working fine and wait for next year’s phones which I suppose is the wise thing to do.

Yup have Virgin bb, afaik there’s really no saving in not getting phone, currently pay about £32ish for the base 50Mb, which others have said is to be doubled, and landline phone with unlimited calls. Up speed is really slow though compared to BT fibre etc

In the real world I bought my old dear a Ipod Nano – s’alright, disagree with the nothing else like it bs, hate the fact that when you plug it in loads of stuff starts happening, but it’s the apple way I spose.
