Crossed hammers (work) for the vehicle check. Should change automatically when you start driving. Digital or analogue tachograph? Also are you using it for work or borrowing it for private use? Do you have a driver’s CPC card?

Just throwing stuff out there. An older Audi S8? BMW 850? A classic merc saloon AMG? VW Phaeton W8? Or Audi W8? Or an older Bentley?

I saw this one the other week – line in place, but not bothering with the harness.

I loved my Capri’s – favourite being the 1.6 Laser I had Caprisport put a 3.9efi V8 under the bonnet:

I found a mint shell for it to make it perfect, but alas it never got to see tarmac again…

Quite aptly I bought a car in the colour ‘inferno’ orange to replace it. It was a very competent performer and I spent a stupid amount of money on it, but I still hankered after something with a V8.

At least it didn’t didn’t go up in a blaze and got sold on as it was too impractical.

I had hundreds of pounds worth of fines to deal with at work when our account ran out of funds. I found them really helpful on the phone and only had the crossing charges to pay for every occurrence. I didn’t have to ask for the fines to be overturned either, it just seems they ask for the crossing fair first. The paperwork looked like they wanted big money for each contravention though!

I did it a while ago. Worked out really well. Just used a new wheel sticker as a template and cut them out.

Ahhh, right. Ok, I get it now. The add ons expire, but the credit remains. Many thanks all.

Giffgaff’s bundles all expire after 30 days – it’s stated clearly in their terms and conditions. No credit will roll over to the next month. Same goes for Vodafone.

I can’t see that either offer traditional PAYG options!

Did she actually pick it up though? Or did you get on your high horse before she even had the chance?

I’ve had people do this to me on a pavement walk with the dog and it annoyed the hell out of me.

You’ll come down with a cold in the next day or so.

Use a decent bike and mount a Bafang BBS02 at 48v (or more) – should be 750 watts which is enough for just shy of 30mph. Pick a bike that will allow you to mount the battery in the main triangle for best weight distribution.

You may need to toughen up the cranks, so something from Middleburn as they are square taper.

Be prepared to spend lots of money on a lightweight high capacity battery.

Not much that hasn’t been done already when it comes to bicycles – have a Google for the bellywhopper bicycle from 1956. I think the bellywhopper looks better though!

Just write nice and clearly on a piece of paper along the lines of ‘don’t be a hunt to cyclists’ and stick it on his windscreen nice and early in the morning. Using expoxy rezin.

Waterproof boots with converted drysuit leg cuffs that cost me £8 from eBay. Stops the rain getting in the top of the boots and never had wet feet no matter how hard it rains.

What data are you thinking they might steal? Have you actually looked at the data available with the new online checks? No address, no full licence number, no date of birth. Just your name, vehicles you can drive and points.

Thanks all, the DSLR we got was second hand – she’s smashed enough phones, I’d be nuts to buy a new one!

I’ll just put elements 10 on, it sounds like it’ll be good enough and not cost me anymore!

I run Schwalbe Kojaks most of the year and rarely have punctures. I’ve found the most effective method in avoiding them is to check tyres weekly and prise out any flints or glass before they worm their way to the tube.

All road users have to abide by the limits in place on that section of road.

Not quite. All motorised vehicles must abide by the speed limit. So ebikes must, especially if it were derestricted as it would most likely be classed as a moped.

A human powered bicycle could exceed the speed limit quite legally if the rider had the legs for it.

Out of interest is it possible to change the limited speed if you wanted to? Ignoring the legality for a moment the US version is a little faster isn’t it?

Is the assist speed still only up to 15mph? Can’t see drops being a worthwhile upgrade unless the assist speed was higher.

I hope this doesn’t become yet another ebike slagging off thread.

Lovely bike, having ridden a gocycle and had a right laugh on it, would love to see what that’s like!

Interesting! Can I ask what made you go for that over any other ebikes available?

I think I’ll continue with the lottery. There are so many things that can screw your life up in an instant, but very few that can improve it, and in my eyes winning the lottery jackpot would be a wonderful thing to happen.
