I ordered a new lid from UKBikeStore. It came the day they said it would be despatched. Wowsers, that’s a fast postie.

Bought one a year ago.

One of the best things I’ve ever bought for a bike.

As has been said, depends where you ride.

I don’t spend £200 easily so I wasn’t sure at first either.

It’s not even all about the DH stuff either, if you’re at full stretch (leg wise) on a tough climb that turns rocky it’s nice just to be able to ‘squash’ it an inch on the move to give you that ability to pop up onto/over things.

I must be getting old because I’m getting nearly as much satisfaction from riding tech stuff slowly without dabbing as I do riding faster bits without dying.

The way the front goes early on the way into the corner and he just manages to let it skate enough of it’s way round to kind of glance the wall instead of smashing it is amazing.

Yeah it’s dangerous and as someone said above the only 2 things that really make me sit up and watch are road racing and wing suit flying but the danger doesn’t need promotion. People have worked hard to ensure a future for road racing by taking the laymans mind from purely being on the danger aspect.

Liked the way it will have made some people realise wingsuit guys will have a ton of skydives/base jumps behind them before they do this stuff. It’s showing the progression. A lot of people would look at them and just think they are insane without realising the build up to doing what they do.

I’d just like to state I don’t defend them. I don’t even see the point to be honest 15ish mph for minutes on end like riding a jackhammer, can’t see the fun.

It’s just all this talk of image I object to. I ride because it’s fun. I have for 20+ years and I will do if MTBs have a good/bad image. Just be courteous but don’t pander to them. They could have stopped and let every single walker past but some would still probably have looked at them like they were in the wrong for being on ‘their’ mountain.
