I could ride that with flats.

    Technique innit.

Bit weird how when the equipment is on the ground people walk around it in hair nets but when it’s ‘up’ there…

There’s absolutely nothing I could say that would even remotely cover it.

Sat looking at this little text box for a while and I couldn’t come up with anything meaningful. Hope you find the strength you need.

    Rest in peace little one.

Good but I’m finding the Disney style story telling style a bit sickly.

That sardine hunting thing was done better in that same place when they did it in Blue Planet too.

    EDIT – IMO

I said I wouldn’t go see it if it came down the main road I can see from my window.

Turns out it will and I may have been hasty passing that comment

Will be weird seeing them on roads I’ve ridden on for years.

There are a few candidates for road gaps around here too 8)

Where were these scummy chavvy places you speak of?

Obviously depends what time of year you go as to how busy.

Went over christmas and it was eerily quiet in the touristy bits. Obviously it’s low season but every bar person I spoke to said they’d never seen it so quiet.

Valetta is nice and busy. Reasonable shopping.

Sliema and St Julian are the best places IMO. Plenty of life and beautiful Maltese women, opposite of Bugibba which is full of British pensioners.

Thinking of spending Feb over there. Fly a bike over for £150 and stay in some nice digs I found for £12 a night.

Overcrowded roads. Cheap seafood. Very friendly people unless they’re in a queue then oowee you’d better watch out. About 18 degrees when I went.

    Sleasyjet are the same.

Flight attendant barked at me for taking more than 3 seconds to put hand luggage above. After I’d just shuffled onto the plane for a good 10 minutes behind people taking forever.

Aggression on a plane will not be tolerated unless it’s from an orange scouse employee.

    Was cheap mind 8)

A friend spent around £400 on a HT from Halfords.

Took it over Norland Moor once which, DBW or Ton will tell you, aint that gnar. He weighs about 8 stone. By the time we’d reached the bottom he’d snapped something in the forks and the front brake stopped working.

2 trips to Gisburn later, cracked frame.

I don’t know what the manufacturers intended that bike to be used for, bumpy roads maybe.

I’ve not seen any mainstream accounts of this yet.

    Is it still like this?

“And they blame it on Marylin and the heroin
Where were the parents at? And look where its at?
Middle America now it’s a tragedy
Now it’s so sad to see, an upper class city”

I’m guessing the scapegoat of today is xbox games and weed?

The US has such a short history and it’s mostly a history of US and THEM! Of division.

There’s more profit in a system of division. People will defend what they know and love more fiercely if it’s perceived there’s a band of others out there doing the same for an alternative.

The military moved away from relying so heavily on sharpened blades when firearms became more readily available.

    And now they use bombs.

Then the next level was drones. Now there’s an even further ‘detachment’ through the use of robotic drones. Can killers be more detached from the action of killing than certain modern militaries have become?

Anyway, I wandered off there. War is too big a business for there not to constantly be one going on for the USA.

    9/11 deaths: ~3000
War on Terror per capita: ~ $4 mil per person (1.283 tril / 313 mil)
Gun deaths: Chicago alone, over 4,000 people age 21 or younger (over last 4 years)
Mental Health budget per capita: $90-270 dollars per person (cut by 1.6 Billion)

As sad a reflection of modern western politics as it is, the only time such a decision will be made is not for the safety of a country’s children but whether more votes will be gained from the ban than those lost.

The US does seem to do a bloody good job of creating these disturbed individuals like no other country can

They have The American Dream. Most people can’t live it. Some people can’t accept it. Be it socially or financially.

I’m no gun advocate and would agree that a ban would reduce the ‘efficiency’ as was pointed out but whenever there is a ban called for it’s easy to focus on this and ignore underlying problems which cannot be got rid of by such a simple single action.

There will always be an individual of a species who feels they aren’t and never will be where they want to be, connected in a certain heirachy.

In this case the individual may, for want of a better expression, turn rogue. I don’t believe this can ever be changed. It’s animal nature and we as a species can’t monitor the mental health of every individual all the time.

Some people can’t get their head around this. The world will never be perfect.

Ban guns and psychos will disappear? Even Goldie Lookin Chain know this is bullshit.

Sounds like a similar theme to the war on drugs where nobody looks at the buyer in a society that’s made most of us addicted to something.

Fair to say that guns allow a certain cowardice in such tragedies. Some disconnected being may not take such measures if they had to stand toe to toe.

    No single, simple answer.

    Another very, very sad story.

A friend of mine is a tutor at a college for construction skills.

They have been given the funding and permission to offer a cash incentive to students upon completion of modules. It now seems this isn’t proving as big a hook as necessary as absence is rising and new enrollment falling.

Now they are beginning to offer approx £10 a week for attendance. This friend has stated that attendance has risen once again, albeit probably temporarily. He has been openly told by a few of the students that they do it for the phone credit/weed/beer money. They have now even bought a minibus to go around and pick the students up in a morning.

I know, ridiculous isn’t it BUT

You can’t tar all youth with this brush and more importantly even the ‘dossers’ are only a product of their environment. It’s not a genetically hard wired trait. Most of them are made to feel that by a certain age they should no longer be where they are, living in houses with their parents who themselves feel shafted, parents who will question why their own child is wasting their time going to such courses when there aren’t even any jobs to land at the end of it all.

It takes a strong willed child not to become embroiled in all the negativity that surrounds them. Be it on the news every day or from the mouths of the people that keep them sheltered and fed.

Watched the last half hour of the FIM gala on Motors TV last night.

Don’t think I’ve ever watched a more cringe-worthy, awkward piece of TV ever. She is pants. Nice bum though, which will be enough for most F1 fans.

Her getting all the names wrong and being awkward and Coultard raving about someone getting his tyres dirty, DRS and KERS should be mega.

    I live in ‘the north’.

My parents were employed in the primary (mining) and secondary (manufacturing) sectors.

The government killed off/did nothing to help these sectors over time and put all its our eggs in the tertiary (financial/service/insurance etc) sector. The most globally mobile sector. They took the piss and now unless gov cuts them some slack they’re leaving.

    Yes it’s my fault.

Who is this clown? I’d rather he be unemployed and my taxes pay to keep him than be employed for this drivel.
