Emailed them before I started this thread, good to get the forums opinion.

See nothings changed here regarding at least one smart quip reply. The bike had some damage in transit so I was offered a free collection/replacement

Totally agree with the points made on the last page about that mod guy being a fun sponge in the name of technically being correct.

Haven’t posted on here for a while because of the general negativity, the only people who seem to have nice things to say about this forum are the ones who have engineered themselves into the clique.

The only thing that makes me come back is the very faint chance that there will be an interesting topic pop up containing posts from a username I’ve never seen before or haven’t seen for a long time. Other than that it’s just 99% people who I imagine love the sound of their own voice or have to live with some such person and come on here to vent their frustration.

I will not be looking on here again for a while because the minority is bringing me down, so if you’re that whitty chap that’s deciding which part of my grammar you should pull me up on by using somebody elses gif in a post that contains the word ‘flounce’ that’s already been used on here 375,458,880 times, save it.

There has never been a community of people who should pay more attention to this saying as STW..

It’s nice to be important but it’s more important to be nice.

You could have at least had a word and made the conman feel uncomfortable to look in your eyes while telling you why he stole your money, at most you could have got a grand of pain but you decided to come on this forum full of ponsey handwringers so one of them could tell you that you took the high road and did the right thing. No offence like. It’s just this forum in general.

    Think I’m done with it

I’d regret doing nothing more than doing something. You had your chance to make a difference in the world and instead you went home for some internet sympathy

I don’t really see a problem. The 11 going off after would already be at the top of the hill so not affected by crowd reaction plus it’s most likely to be the top 11 guys in the world ie. professional athletes with an abnormal ability to focus.

Think they should be consulted and a decision made. I think it would be a nice touch.

I pick mine up but this ‘cool story bro’ makes me think people need more important things happening in life that they could post about on the Internet.

I was the same. 9 months also. Job was taking up a lot of time, back problems and a fur baby. All that plus the great British weather.

So I bought a new bike.

    Worked a treat.

Been out three times this week

Does anybody sell one of the smaller mudguards for the Manitou fork. Marshguard/Bender fender style. I’d imagine a 3 inch tyre makes for a muddy face

Good tip, I’ll try it next time. Always been a bit hesitant to do something similar because the metal is so soft.

Last time I did the splash oil change it took me quite a while to get the nut to a point where the leg held firm. Nipped it up only to realise I’d not replaced the oil 8)

Managed to get 1/8 of a turn on the air valve today which seemed to stop the air bubbling out. I’ll know more in a few days. 10 MM. socket was slightly loose and I didn’t want to round it, 3/8′ fit nicely.

Ordered a 7. Picked it up today. I’ll add my twopeneth soon.

What swung it for me was talking to several people who worked in the industry, mechanics, shop owners etc who all raved about theirs.

It’s the core. I’ll give it a go over the weekend. Just didn’t look like it would screw straight out to me.

The lowers services are always a ballache, one nut just spins the internals when reassembling unless the forks are under load, even then I struggle.

Think I’m going to order a 7 tomorrow.

Been umming and arring for a couple of weeks after getting a small tax return. Test rode one the other day and couldn’t believe how light it was, even with tubes. I haven’t been able to motivate myself to ride enough in the last 12 months and a few things beyond me being a lazy turd have got in the way. New bike might give me the kick up the chuff I need.

I usually stay in Adinkerke at a campsite in the dunes, bang on the Belgian border. Buy some cigs and booze. Half an hour drive to the chunnel. I did see people walking down the motorway the last time I was there mind you.

Maybe I turned it over to Jo Brand walking around the countryside too soon.

Voiceoverman was boring me and car vs bike has been done to death. Then there’s team Guy turns up in a van blah and I felt like I watched it a few times before. Sounds like I should have stuck with it

Job I’m on now has had 2 brand new transit tippers go, what happens when people leave keys above the sun visor. They both had stihl saws inside. Lads were sat in a welfare cabin eating their dinner, left a big breaker in the doorway and some scrote picked it up and ran off up a side street with it, into a car and off.

Last job I was on someone put a vis vest on, came into the offices, picked up they keys for the engineers pickup and took it. 20k pickup with 30k of gear inside. I smell an inside job for that one though.

We topsoiled a load of verges on the job I’m on before Christmas, looked sweet. Came back after to 4 inch deep tracks across every one. Residents complaining saying they should have been tarmacced and asking when they will be tidied up.

    My answer was

My z3 was unresponsive the other day so I held down power first, then volume up at the same time for a few seconds. It vibrated and did a kind of soft reset. Didn’t lose any data.

Just been through exactly the same. Local shop with dodgy reputation wanted £80 to fix. Tesco wanted £130 because it’s not covered by warranty as Sony has apparently not notified them of a fault. Sent it to Sony and took the chance they might fix it for free as the same thing happened to crack it, was on a table at the time. But no, palmed me of in computer says no style.

Ended up paying them £120 to repair. It was that our they charge me £20 to return it unfixed.

    Sony, never again

Their strongest argument was to provide housing. I live the other side of the hill and there’s so many houses for sale in this village. Rush hour where they will eventually build, probably after a pause in order to secure extra funding, is ridiculous as it is. None of the housing will be anywhere near entry level because of the costs.

Not one aspect of it makes sense. It starts when some powerful developer puts an idea forward, makes some influential friends and gains that much funding it becomes unstoppable no matter how many thousands of proles object.

Those same councillors who are asking on Twitter at the moment for people to give generously to the flood appeal.

Shame they won’t be asking GenR8.

I’m working on a similarly crazy project to build the Leeds-Bradford cycle superhighway with £29m European funding. Our stretch runs down Barkerend Road where things like this are a regular occurrence http://youtu.be/yIqZJQ_IHow I must see 6/7 cyclists a week, it could be a case of build it and they will come but you couldn’t pay enough for me to ride a bike around there.

The people making these decisions need a good shake.

Worked on the industrial/housing project at Copley for 4 months this year. It was a crazy idea to bring thousands of tonnes of 6f2 onto what was previously a contaminated flood plain to raise the whole area and pass the problem further on down the Calder Valley.

Made some developers a fortune and got some councillors some nice kickbacks. Nobody will ever be held to account. All they’ll have to say is there was a shortage of housing in the area. We put a small concession in by building a few settlement/catchment ponds to re home some frogs and direct groundwater off parts of the site, down to the river. Pay lip service to environmental factors and you’ll get permission granted if there’s enough money involved in the project.

It would benefit from a bit more focus on the privateers. Maybe an hour long roundup at the end of each week. I’d still watch the big teams but be more interested about that programme.

Same should happen at the TT.

At the moment it’s just the odd mention and minute or two of footage but there’s something more engrossing in watching people who give up everything in life to pursue their passion even when they know it will never lead to them making a living from it

From what I’ve read and I’ve read a lot, it seems that they fix the odd few to keep the many at bay. The many are then left even more disgruntled at having to pay £21 to have their useless phone returned to them

    billysugger

I might risk the £21 return charge and send it to Sony with a covering letter.

Not sure what angle to take, whether it should be strongly worded or emphasising the fact I have been very loyal to their brand in the past. I have TV,stereo,PS4 at the moment.

I hope you got in touch with sony MrNutt.

I don’t know how they can refuse to fix a phone that has a hairline crack in it and a customer saying they didn’t do it.

How would a person cause one single hairline crack in a screen?
