It depends on what you want to do.

If you already own a ps3 or xbox then it doesn’t do much that they can’t do. If however you want a nice integrated way to look at your iphoto’s & play drm itunes music through a central hub on your telly & browse youtube etc then it’s very good.

I think. I was tempted earlier this year – even to the point of wandering into an apple store to see if they could convince me I needed it, in the end I stuck with my ps3 & medialink on my mac.

Make sure to ride a 140mm hardtail before you decide – it is my considered opinion that most of the time that is too much fork for a hardtail for XC / trail centres unless you are doing big tricks, and a lighter more XC oriented setup is in fact more fun and more ridable for most people

A 140mm hard tail? At a trail centre? Are you mad? You will probably die! You need a 6″ trail bike just to attempt some of the obstacles there! 😉

Personally I ride a PA (in 853 flavour..) so am slightly biased, a mate runs a Cotic Soul which is also very nice (lighter as well). The Evil is a lovely looking bike & I’ve always wanted one, until I picked it up!
Still want one, however I don’t think it’d make a good xc bike compared to the others mentioned, as a ‘freeride’ or ‘downhill’ hardtail then yes please!

Pinch punctures are generally caused by having pressures too low, do you know what pressure you’re running at?

I’m using BMX grips, I was converted & have since converted about 5 people to them thus far. Bit of GT85/hairspray & they don’t go anywhere & they are soo much softer & more comfortable than most specific mountain bike grips.

Only downside is you need to cut off the flange (oo-eer!)

I managed to get a rock shox reba off the classifieds here for about £120, it replaced the suntour unit on my girlfriends avalanche, the difference between them was like night & day. It is an 07 model & has IS mount & just having them serviced they apparently have a spaced inside that allows us to go from 100 to 120mm travel if ever required.

I’m enjoying this – adds an extra dimension to a very good track, in my opinion, when listening to the original now it sounds flat in comparison…
