I don’t rate the current quality

I’ve just had a right ding dong with the Rohan shop in Exeter, mum a 70 year old hill walker type knackered out a pair of Rohan/Brasher shoes in only 6 months of weekend towpath walks.

Lady in the shop called it wear and tear and suggested she should take them down to Timpson for a repair….several emails aback and forth with HQ on behalf of mother dear and they’ve just replaced the shoes.

Funny thing is I’ve got a 1970’s cotton smock handed down from my dad thats still going!

The stuff you’re mentioning looks perfect for hosting your own WordPress style site.

Image maps have their place they degrade nicely and they are native html 5 code.

I think a grid based layout would work a treat with what you’re looking at, but perhaps look at the wordpress option purely from the free CMS backend perspective.

Hope Sandoval. Sounds so fragile… yet utterly beautiful. Gives me the horn.

+1 Roseblood is particularly a great song.

Pearl Fishers duet always deserves to be played ridiculously loud
So does in the hall of the mountain king
But the most cathartic of all musical experiences has to be a Lamb of God circle pit.

Nah! Lucas can’t write dialogue if his life depended on it.

My Arse, he wrote American Graffiti.

Ok fair enough, since American Graffiti he’s not really matched the promise but still.

I tolerated about 6 months of my Trek EX8 couldn’t get to grips with it, pedal strikes, bobbing up hills, probably a great bike for ‘Trail riders’ I just never liked it.

Hateful thing, I’ve now stripped it, the frame lying under my drawing board.

You could start production with Metallica’s Black album to ease you into it!

How dare you sully the name of a once great band by mentioning them on a thread about such musically illiterate low brow dull monotonous tripe as the clash.

I think you need to have ridden ‘back in the day’ to get the whole steel twang thing.

Steel bikes these days just don’t have it perhaps the Voodoo one by Joe Murray did, i’ve not ridden a soul to see if they do.

food for thought. I’m not one for the internet buying much but just on Merlin and Winstanleys like you say

I get SIDS, 2×10 XT Gruppo, Elixir Carbons, Hope/CRests for £1750

I knew it would cost more it always will, but thats very much the build it will turn into for only 500 more (obviously need stems bars post saddles etc but thats all covered)

Damn, this was just meant to be what size frame…I’d really hoped to order a new bike this week!

I’ve got a wierd set up with Rotor Cranks and a ‘Plastic’ frame (that has a different chainline to the seemingly industry standard HT2/Middle ring chainline)so the lateral adjustability of the Superstar was what drew me to it.

The first one bent, the second one bent, I bent it back and fashioned something a little bit stronger using various bits of ‘plastic’ rod…it’s now lighter and stronger and hasn’t bent 🙂

But this is the one I reeeeallly hope santa brings me next christmas 🙂

I was going for the £1299 X9 version saving £300 or so for Hope/Crests possibly an XO upgrade flog the O-One fishing and replace it with the USE stuff kicking in the shed.

I’m going to take my Rotors my current fancy bike and it will go 1×10.

Now you mention it I could go the frame/reba route but the only groupset I’ve got kicking around would be XTR 9sp that’s now getting long in the tooth, and there are so many little thing I always forget to budget for…hence plumping for a new bike and saving a few quid, I can save up for SIDs later!

There is a Whyte in L at my bike shop but we’re over the 1.8k loosely self imposed budget, although I’ve had a fairly good tax year I’ve saved more than I owe I want it to be a cheap as possible.

I’ve a very front heavy riding style you see, scared a bit by the length oh and the fact it’s my first Complete bike I’ve bought from the internet, I’ve bought a frame from them..my inbred is 16″ from bb-clamp.

I don’t know about the scene as such is there one?

But Bontrager Twentyfour12 is brilliant and very friendly , I think this will be my fifth now great bunch of people the only support I’ve had is the missus. One year my mech took a wander through the spokes ( the only year I ever took a phone on the course by chance) I called her and some blokes in another team stripped my other bike got it ready with a new chain as I ran the 5k back to the Van.

In last years Hell a team opposite us would hose down my bike every time I came in for a clothes change, they even removed the stone that was cutting a nice hole in my stanchion and my lowers broke the several hundred pound news to me with a cup of bovril 🙂

Being in Devon it makes travelling up country pretty hard so to have in on the doorstep is also a bonus.
