as I always say….wheels are the most important bits of anybike.
So spend more than you budget on them,I have a similar build on olympics on rapido progress hubs and the hope on 355s too the olypics are way better and lighter too.I ride in the north peaks regularly doing stuff most 6inch day riders wouldnt dare on these set ups.

I'm a cat two road racer and live in the peaks….mtfu is all well and good.But you need to be reallistic,I ride a 34-27 on my training bike and 38-27 0n my race bike.Im 10st wet through and 6'4 so dont worry,big cassette and compact.

this simulates it.

Gt make a world cup downhill bike….from carbon.
Get an Ibis tranny for a carbon bike if you throw you bikes around/ learn to ride over rather than into stuff.
