However, BBC bosses completely rejected the allegations, insisting the report contained factual inaccuracies with quotes from people who did not feature in its reports and lines that its journalists did not say.

    Yeah just minor things.

THM BikePawl asked if the Scottish Government could ask Westminster to approach the European Commission. I thought that was a fair point so decided I would check up when I had time. So it seems an approach was made and rejected over a year ago.

That is interesting, cheers for looking.

Numerous people have posted on this thread about the legal advice on EU membership sought and publicised by the UK government, yet the simple fact remains that the UK government has not approached the appropriate body the European Commission .Since so many great experts, Mr Barosso for example tell the government what a strong case they have why not go ahead and ask the question? What are they afraid of?

I think from reading THM’s link the UK government can’t ask until there has been a Yes vote, as otherwise they would not be representing the best interests of the union.
I’ve been asking the same question, but from the other side, why doesn’t the Scottish Parliament/Government ask Westminster, what are they afraid of?

The Scottish Parliament can’t ask, as it doesn’t represent an existing member state. The UK government could ask, but have chosen not to.

Yes I understand that the Scottish Parliament can’t ask, but have they asked Westminster to ask the question for them. It seems that would be the official way to do it.

So does anyone know anything about this?

So the EU will only give the information about iScotland joining the EU to an existing member state. Has the UK asked for this information and is keeping quiet, or is it waiting for the Scottish Parliament to ask the question.
I suspect the Scottsh Parliament hasn’t asked the question or otherwise the SNP would be very publicly telling us about further bullying from Westminster. Has anybody got any facts on this.

I think a fitting punishment for Clarkson for this behaviour, would be to do Bikeability 1,2 and 3 training with schoolchildren and have it broadcast on Topgear.

I used to use that path commuting Edinburgh to Rosyth and Dunfermline and in c. 2001 it was great. But by the time I stopped working there end 2009, the greenery had started to grow in a bit, but it was still preferable to the road.

It’s not that green now, since Jimmy of this parish did a great job of cleaning it up.

Wait till you get a hard frost, then early in the morning go out with a piece of thin plywood just bigger than the molehill. Slide it under the frozen lump, then transport it to a neighbours perfect lawn. Dead centre is most pleasing to the eye, remove wood then wait to see their horrified faces when they think they’ve got moles. It’s even better if they come storming out and destroy it to find their grass is okay underneath.

Chew the insulation off any electric cables you can find, nibble on the corner of cereal packets and then leave lots of tiny droppings all over the house, especially in the kitchin cupboards.

Yes parental consent would be needed, but any group I take out there is always parental consent or they don’t go. The parental consent can be term or year long, but if the trip is extraordinary then new consent is needed.
As a first aider you are not qualified to administer any medicine.
I’m led to believe there was a first aider charged after using an epi-pen on a child who had been stung by a bee.

    Found it

I think this it what I was looking for, it allows parents to legally administer. So would that cover anyone acting in “loco parentis”?

Not a worry, I’m redoing my B.A.S.P first aid course this weekend, and on previous cousres we’ve been told not to administer epi-pens as we are not trained, this is working with under 18’s. But I saw a thread on here a while back with links to gov websites with guidance on using them legally.
