But who will decide what is meant by good on a bike, and then test applicants

In the mid eighties I worked as a life model, if there happened to be a fine looking young lady in the class and I found myself getting distracted I used to imagine I had cold wet y-fronts on. If that didn’t work I would imagine Maggie naked that always worked

Are you so morally deficient that you cannot understand why civilised people abhor killing for pleasure without utility?
    POSTED 1 MINUTE AGO # REPORT-POST

But is okay when it is for food. The pleasure may be about catching your own food or it may be about the thrill of the chase, who are you to decide what someone’s motives are. And that brings us back to fishing

Don’t forget discus and the hammer as we’re banning all these deadly events

Fishing rods, they’re used to kill things too for pleasure. Yeah I know some catch and release. But most are for killing animals to eat, yummy fish. Guess in TJ world we’ll be banning them. But it’s for the best we should try and distance ourselves from our food and how it gets to the table.

Thats a very biased and pejorative interpretation of what might happen

so the only answer to that is to say its a nonsensical question designed to elicit a particular answer thus there is no real answer

Still practicing to be a politician then TJ.

    Woo hoo

As a result of the Police travel warning, we are now advising all staff who have to use any form of transport to go home immediately.

Unfortunately I have to cycle into the wind, only a couple of km so shouldn’t take to long.

And there was me thinking that the flying spaghetti monster was an attempt to stymie the creationists from getting their beliefs being taught in American schools. Oh well since it’s Elf he must be right.

Having arrived in Aberdeenshire in the late 80’s from the south of England. I saw in some respects no difference spread around comprehensives, but some grammar type schools. I was at Mackie Academy in Stonehaven and it wasn’t what I had expected. But with hindsight I see that it was the key difference between The Scottish and English systems. In Scotland there was a higher percentage of schools that saw a classical education as essential to produce rounded people that could deal with any circumstance. But I could be wrong.

Correct TJ. But I have such a strong memory of the horror I felt, when you introduced me to those mischeviously evils creatures. That it was etched in my mind.

Doubt it all you like. That is what you said to me when your first introduced me to you trolls. “these are my trolls, well they’re not actually mine. They’re my sisters I’m just looking after them”. But that was about 15 years ago so you might not remember it so well.

Bikepawl – we would have a large pot of money to smooth out undesirable effects such as you mention

I get the food and fuel. But surely if we then subsidise exports we are back at square one, except individuals can no longer afford to drive. Would the EU not have something to say about subsidising for export only.

    BikePawl

TJ can you answer what would happen if just the UK raised fuel prices. Would we still be able to export goods and services competitively?
Would the poorer section of society be able to pay for food? that would be hit by transport costs.
What about those in Fuel poverty?

Whilst some of me agrees in principle with what TJ is saying, planned change is much better than forced change.
From other threads it has been debated and a common theme is that we need to keep growth in the economy to avoid recession. If we now hike taxes on fuel will we not stunt growth over the whole of society, impacting the poorest families.

I’m mystified as to why the Italian people jolly well have not afforded him the same treatment as their last Duce.

Bikepawl – it was the wrong place to explore that issue as this is. You had a basic misunderstanding of the situation you referred to.

You want to explore that email me.

I am quite happy to be challenged however I do find being called a liar repetitively very offensive.

I don’t think I’ll bother with e-mail, your attitude is well summed up by telling me that I have misunderstood the situation.
Well to stop being called a liar repetitively, don’t lie about the past.

I think a part of the issue is that many folk on here do not like to be challenged so will not accept that the sexism exists on here so see no need to change.

personally I think the sexism will be less tolerated now – at least for a while

    I standby this absolutely

I have never done this and didn’t on that thread. I remeber the thread and I did make an arse of myself. However I did not lie which is what you are accusing me of. I do not and have never been serious about something and then claimed to be in jest when debate goes against me.

I do not lie like that. I take it very amiss to be accused of lying about my motivations.

So you are saying that in the thread in question you did not tell any lies at anytime?

But your original post in the thread wasn’t the truth! You were pretending you could ride the rock shute for comic effect. Then when you were questioned about your riding ability you argued that because you can ride black trails you could ride the obstacle. You said that you could ride the black trail at Laggan Wolftracks.
