Ultimately, nothing will happen. You’ll waste even more of your time and it’ll stop you moving on and finding someone who is better.

How hard do they need to be?

Easy – what was Val Kilmer’s callsign in Top Gun?

Difficult – What was the bible verse quoted by Samuel L Jackson in Pulp Fiction?

Don’t declare it but be honest and frank if it comes up. Tell them why this makes you better than, not “just as good as” other candidates i.e. self control, perspective, never have a hangover at work etc.

Probably not the easy journey I was planning on undertaking on a lunch break then!

I realise that as you go back there are more and more people you become aware of and that at some point you'll run into either a character or a historical figure. I'm interested on the path our family took from that point in history and why I'm not living in a castle.

The breakfast biscuit things with Johnnie Vaughan and Lisa Snowdon

    – it's plainly not funny ("What's next? Marmalade for lunch?!")

    – if you don't live in London you probably won't know that those two have a radio show together and will wonder why they're using the guy who hosted Big Breakfast about 10 years ago.

    – Johhnie's bacon roll looks much nicer than the dry biscuity thing

    – Lisa is intolerably smug

He seems to be a bit marmite.

Personally I think he's great. Search on youtube for his monologue "Storm".

Did my work experience as an Air Cadet in Survival Equipment Supplies at RAF Marham with (was 36 or 39?) Sqn Photo Reconnaisance Unit. The Nvaigator sits in the nose in a teeny tiny claustaphobic hole that didn't look too great.

Great stories about pulling up and irritating MiGs though.

I did Red or Dead and have now switched to Fallout 3. Fallout 3 is too addictive by half.

Looking forward to Medal of Honour though, they were great games on the PS2.

    in your opinion…

No, not in my opinion. An opinion on an empirical fact or tautology can be wrong. If my opinion is "A thing is different to itself" then I am wrong, although:

    – it is correct to say this is my opinion
    – I am 'entitled' to have this opinion
    – there is no objective 3rd party that declares the truth or fallacy of such claims so no-one can say with complete authority that "x is wrong" (but carrying on with false opinions can be dangerous or misguided (admittedly, it could also be beneficial).

And hey, what happened or didn't happen yesterday is my business ;o)

how can an opinion be bullshit? it's about the person holding it. It isn't meant to be objective.

That it is that person's opinion is true and can't be bullshit, however, their opinion on something may be misguided or wrong.

eg, it is correct that in my opinion , "Sunday 22nd August 2010 never happened". It is, however, manifestly wrong.

Binners – who's writing your copy? Quite frankly it's awful.

IS this one of those magazines designed as a vehicle to sell advertising space using the thin veneer of "lifestyle" content and product reviews?

Seems OK now – not sure if IOS 4.0.2 helped or if it was something else.

Graham S – "For proper maintenance of a lithium-based battery, it’s important to keep the electrons in it moving occasionally. Be sure to go through at least one charge cycle per month (charging the battery to 100% and then completely running it down)."

I bought it for the ps3 from someone on here. Really addictive game, but the central quest isn't as long as you'd like.

    New one comes out soon.

Just read that Apple recommend draining the battery at least once a month. I'm downloading 4.0.2 now and will run the battery down before charging tonight.

    Fingers crossed

Girlfriend is a primary school teacher and loves it – she's really good at it. A colleague of hers was a lawyer and jacked it in to teach – he's also glad he did.

On balance, it's no better or worse than most other jobs. You'll never be rich, but you'll always be comfortable. The work can be stressful if you're in a rubbish school with poor colleagues, or great in a better behaved school with more skilled colleagues. The holidays – you'll have a bit of work to do but can usually bat through this in the first 20% of the holiday – you'll never be more than a few weeks away from a break.

On occasion you might have to work a bit later than usual, but in my experience, nowhere near as hard or late as you might do in another challenging industry (I work in advertising)

If I wasn't so uncomfortable with kids, I'd sign up in a flash.

I saw Dark Knight in Imax and sat at the back on the far left i.e. as far back as possible and it was still too big. As FunkyDunc says it was too fast for Imax.

It seems a bit counter-intuitive but I'd sit as far away from the screen as you can.
