    DE will definitely help.
I used to use really struggle with neck rash when using multi blade types and a job that required a shirt and tie.

My main advice is never shave “against”, if using a decent sharp blade and gel/soap then a “three stage cut” (with the grain, then 90° one way then the other) will get nice and close with no irritation.

So, thanks to your intervention, a cat got ripped to pieces by two dogs, and the pigeon died anyway.
    Bravo.

    Early xboX one.

An audio adaptor needed to plug in to the controller.

This adaptor is no longer stocked by high street shops. Built in obsolescence – taking a leaf from apples book?

Leaving a car idling is an appallingly inefficient way to charge a couple of phones and run a small light.

I’ve seen people using battery packs for this sort of thing, that’s got to be a better option. They’re not that expensive nowadays, the fuel cost of a  couple of weekends worth of idling your car will probably cover it.

Plus think of all the nuns and kittens who won’t die from your cars emissions…

I’ve bought a few things from banggood, no problems at all. I’d recommend them for China imports (although don’t expect the tracking to work, it’s completely useless).

Still the same rubbish VW mechanism as ever. They haven’t really changed it. My T5 has needed both doors done, my Mates T6 has just had the driver’s side replaced under warranty at just 6 months old.

Nearly always needs a complete new mechanism.

    Don’t even think about it.

It’s a horrible job to do on a driveway. By the time you’ve rented or bought the tools, engine lift etc. that you need, you’ll hardly save any money on getting it done at a decent local independent.

Just don’t use Mr f***ing Clutch, no matter how cheap they seem.

She has form for this, unfortunately.

An almost identical incident happened when she lost the US open final to Sam Stoser where, just like this year, she was losing badly to a better player on the day.

All the headlines in both cases were about Serena, meaning the victors didn’t get the recognition they deserved.

Her behaviour has very little to do with sexism, and a lot more to do with bad sportsmanship and being a sore loser.

The Yukon is amazing, and very much ‘off the beaten track’.

Problem is, it’s not easy or cheap to get to!

Worth it though, I’ve never seen better scenery.

Took my lad to a junior parkrun (2k) this morning.

In a fit of stupidity I decided that it would be a good idea to follow him round.

What actually happened is that he cleared off into the distance, and then had to hang around for four minutes at the finish waiting for me to finish  – took me 11m, 47s.

I knew that my lad would be quicker than me (he’s represented Hampshire at cross country), but I thought that I would be quicker than that – I thought perhaps around 10 minutes.

It has come as a bit of a wake-up call, I am far more unfit than I thought 🙁

What I have to be convinced about is any of these small petrols or petrol hybrids being designed for 250k+ miles.

It’s a bit too early to tell long term reliability of the small turbo petrol engines, but hybrids have been around for a long time and have proven to be extremely reliable.

There are loads of Toyota Prius’s (Prii?) with well over 250,000 miles on them – check out your local minicab rank.

I know of one local Prius taxi with just under 800,000 miles on it and still going strong. Still on its original engine and gearbox, it has only ever needed normal servicing.

They’re dreadfully dull to drive, (and friends will assume you are moonlighting as an Uber driver) but if you want an economical car that’ll practically go on for ever, it’s hard to beat a Prius.

Good luck getting the police to do anything.

This happened to a friend, the police wouldn’t get involved and just referred him to his insurance company.

I’ve just had a look at prices, seems they’ve gone up in the last year. Presumably exchange rate fluctuations, shall we blame brexit? (Oops, sorry – wrong thread!).

The Chinese sellers are forever doing a “flash sale” so if you’re not in a rush you can probably save a couple of quid.

I got mine direct from China, via Banggood. Plenty of other sellers, especially on AliExpress, but I’ve used Banggood for a few things now with no problems.

It took about 3 weeks. No custom hassles with a low value like that. Never buy fast shipping via DHL etc.

I’ve got one, for the money it is brilliant.

It is very limited on what it can do, a smart watch it isn’t,  but for £16 you can’t complain.

It is quite basic but does what you need.

It tells the time and measures steps and heart rate.

Usefully, it connects to your phone by Bluetooth and buzzes discreetly when you get calls, messages etc. I leave the phone on silent nowadays and never miss anything. It also unlocks your phone when next to it so you don’t have to type in your code all the time which makes it worth wearing for that alone!

It is very small and light, waterproof and the battery lasts a month between charges.

I don’t think you can get it to link to Strava at all, it links to Google fit without hassle, and obviously Mi Fit. There are several 3rd party apps which may, but I haven’t bothered as it does everything I need it to currently.

It might be worth getting an extra strap (they’re only about £3 on AliExpress), I’ve used mine daily for a year now and the strap is just beginning to show signs of wear.

I couldn’t do without it now, but I can’t see that a smarter watch would do anything more useful.

Certain brands of car you cant jump start Jaguars and BMW, being 2 it does something to the ecu and screws them a huge bil to fix, a freinds cost her 800 quids

Not true, they clearly didn’t do the jump start correctly.

I’m an AA patrol so have done plenty of jump starts…

The 1.6 diesel engine isn’t one VW’s best.

Well known for eating injectors, and like most modern diesels, expect egr and dpf problems.

However, £2k is a steal for a low mileage Golf, so you’ll be a few quid up to pay for repairs.

Bare in mind the current backlash against diesels will affect resale values, and several cities are talking about banning diesels.

Having said that, a Golf is a nice place to be, and when running well you might well see 50mpg.

I have no problem with folding mirrors as an idea, but why do they have to be so noisy? The other halves latest car is a 1 litre petrol engine and is virtually silent at tickover, however when she pulls up the electric handbrake wheezes noisily on, then the mirrors grind into place – it’s like a locomotive parking up!

I think the OP is looking for a solution to viewing images on photobucket, not storing his own images.
I also want to find a solution, so would be very interested in an add-on for chrome or firefox that works.

That certainly looks like oil in your coolant.
Not necessarily head gasket, it could be egr valve or oil cooler.
Whichever it is, it needs fixing immediately – take straight to your garage.
That engine isn’t known for blowing head gaskets, you’ve been unlucky if that’s what it is.

When did this happen? Mine was working a couple of days ago.

Yes cheers, Been thinking about it on a Mi Mix 2 from Gearbest, but still just not sure I’m prepared to take the risk on the money.

The Mi Mix 2 looks gorgeous – my next phone I think! (It also has every 4g band in the world, so no UK B20 problems).

If you are thinking of going down the Chinese route then there’s a few thing to bear in mind.
I’ve got a Xiaomi Mi5, which I am delighted with. I paid £180 pounds for it and it is equivalent in specification to far more expensive phones like the Galaxy s7.
I imported it directly from China, via Banggood. Banggood are one of the more reliable importers but it is still a comparatively risky way to buy a phone.
Delivery takes anything between 2-4 weeks and the tracking is completely useless. Buy the insurance and pay by credit card. Choose standard delivery and chances are you’ll escape the import taxes – if you want fast delivery you’ll get hammered by DHL charging you a handling fee and customs adding 20% making your bargain phone much less of a bargain.
If your phone goes wrong you are likely to have issues – nobody has spares in the Uk so the “guarantee” means it has to go back to China. I’ve heard stories of phones taking months to come back, or not coming back at all.
As I am careful with phones and always use a sturdy case I decided this was a risk worth taking. Speaking of cases – you obviously won’t have the choice you would with an iPhone, but I’ve got a couple via aliexpress which have been fine.
Band B20. China doesn’t use this 4G frequency so most Chinese phones come without it. In the UK B20 is used primarily by O2, although all the providers use it a bit. If you are O2, Tesco or Giffgaff this is a major issue – no 4G. I’m with EE and I haven’t noticed any problems – 4G reception is better everywhere than the iPhone 6 I had before.
Xiaomi are about the best Chinese phones, I’d be wary of an elefone or doogee for example. Xiaomi use a modified android called Miui, I love it and it contains very little bloatware but it’s not to everybody’s taste – if you are used to stock android it’ll seem a bit “iPhoney”.
Sorry to waffle on but when I was looking to do this I couldn’t find much information from people who had actually imported a phone themselves (as opposed to being sent a phone to review) so I thought this might be useful for someone.

All these people who are retiring their Sony Z3 compacts – Can I buy your phone case?!
I’ve recently got a Z3 compact for my son, but I’m struggling to get a decent case , all the best ones are no longer made.
So if you’ve got a nice strong protective case going spare I’d be really interested.
    Thanks, Mike

    I’ve got a Xiaomi MI5.
    Not heard of it?
    Thought not.
They’re the third biggest manufacturer of phones in the world (iirc) but don’t officially import to Britain or the US so nobody writes about them.
Brilliant value for money, similar specs to a Samsung S7 but only £180. Very pleased with mine.
You can only get them directly from China, I used Banggood with no problems at all.

I splashed out on a Xiaomi Miband 2 – £16 on a slow boat from China.
It does everything that a fitbit does – heart rate, steps, sleep monitoring etc. It even tells the time! – all for a fraction of the price of a Garmin or fitbit etc.
The app is a bit clunky but it syncs fine with Google fit which is all I wanted.
For the money you can’t go wrong, a cheap way to find out if a fitness tracker is for you.

    Ok, now I’m torn.
The Mi 5s is now only about £20 more than a Mi 5 – has anybody got one? Is it worth the extra?
    Ta!
