If you haven’t spoken to Islabikes it is worth giving them a ring I have always found them very helpful. The bike I had seen online which looks similar to Islabikes is by Ribble, gone up in price since I first saw it but worth having a look to compare but again probably wouldn’t be available until June/July & I don’t know anything about the Company but have seen them mentioned on this site so sure information is available.

Hi, I have had an eJimi for 18months & love it, I use it locally to go to shops & park & on rides along Canal paths. I did a lot of research when I was thinking of an e.bike & got tempted by the Moustache Samedi 27X5 which seemed to have everything & more. It did & have to say it was a beautiful bike, unfortunately I hesitated to ride it as didn’t feel confident on it as didn’t feel in control because of the weight which I hadn’t seriously considered. I also sometimes use the bike tow rack & really struggled lifting it on & off & having to take the battery off each time. For many years have had Islabikes for Grandchildren & always been impressed with them although I know these days there are other good childrens bikes available, so when I saw they were doing the ebikes feeling very guilty that I had made a mistake buying the Moustache sold it & got the eJimi.
I love it, the handling is fantastic, weight makes such a difference, also where the battery is makes a difference to handling as these can be very heavy. The eJimi does only have the smaller range but I don’t do long distance & I am also aware thet if for some reason I did run out of power because it is so light I could just use it as normal bike, admit I would puff a bit up a hill though.
The only thing I wonder about is that the battery is in the tube & cannot be removed, I can see the advantage in that I don’t have to worry about anybody pinching it & the other thing I’m not keen on is having to use my phone as the computer on it.
Having bought so many bikes for Grandchildren over the years, sizing is a nightmare & am very wary of going off what is recommended. If I went off Islabikes size I would be XS which as e.Jimi started as S I did query but was assured would be fine, it is & I would have been ok with Medium. I don’t know where in the Country you are but they do have there own track at their Unit in Ludlow where they will advise & you can try out for size, it does need to be booked. They did allow you to receive a bike & try it & if it wasn’t right you could return it, I’m not sure if they have altered the ‘trying’ bit now.
I did notice a few months ago one of the direct Manufactures is doing an ebike considerably less cost & with a very similar weight to Islabikes & also the pictures looked very similar. I can’t bring it to mind at the moment but sure somebody will know who it is.

Nationals BMX are there this weekend. If you do go & are parking, not only don’t leave your bike for a second but make sure you lock your vehicle

On the Facebook HSBC National Cycling Centre Site on 25th Feb it recommended not attempting to ride the trails until clearing work to remove fallen trees after the storms & it would be updated once completed. It has not been updated since, they are not very good at updating this site but might be worth checking with them. The other thing is if you are driving there this weekend the 1st of the Summerr Series National BMX Racing is on on Saturday & Sunday, I think it is at the Centre not the Outdoor track. I’m there later so will check, if it is parking is a nightmare

I would definately go for CNOC16, having had over the years probably every Islabike size for Grandchildren & Adult (me), I appreciate your concern on sizing. I always had bikes that were not too big for them but have found that the actual recommended sizing Islabikes give was smaller than the children were happy on. I have an Adult Icons Jimi, I was apprehensive going up on the recommended size on it but glad I did.

Now on my 3rd e.bike, expensive learning curve, I would put weight as very high up on the list. 1st was a Kalkoff Automatic when ebikes were only just taking hold & I thought I ought to bike, learnt from that weight at the back made it like driving without Power Steering if anybody remembers those cars. Hardly rode it as felt it was too big for me apart from weight.
Always been into exercise but biking never appealed but following an accident & making a mess of my knee decided that biking was now going to be best so thinking I now knew what was important to me I did loads of research on line & at shops, the Moustache seemed to be my dream machine, it’s amazing how when you find something you really like you forget the most important thing on your list, weight. Probably because I chose a top of range that had everything & of course couldn’t find this exact model in a shop, ordered one.
Beautiful bike but just couldn’t take to it at 27kg, lifting weight has never been a problem to me but now probably because of ageing found it heavy to lift on & off bike rack even with battery off, plus had to admit that I did not need all the great things on it & it spent more time in garage not being used. Within a short time of buying this saw Islabikes were doing e.bikes in their Icons range, having been very much a childrens Islabikes fan I was gutted, then Singletrack did a review & that finished me so with heavy heart the Moustache went & the eJimi came. My only consolation is 3rd time lucky & I love it, it has brought it home to me how important weight is & to be honest with myself what I actually needed on a bike.
During last lockdown my Grandson took great delight in bike handling training & had me around cones & all sorts of bike exercises, still not as good as him on figure of eight & got a needs more practice on picking up a water bottle. I did have no problem beating him on hills though although not on change of rules, slowest up the hill. All these things would have been impossible on a heavy bike. These things were challenges, not needed to ride a bike but very confidence building for a previous non-biker & very much brought it home how weight was important in an older age group, maybe not at a present time but things can happen that changes ability without warning.
To sum up from my own experience be honest with what you actually need, not just at this time but perhaps near future, don’t let the eyes take over when you see a bike you like, go back to that list & check it off & most importantly weight.
If they are looking at bikes I live a few miles from Manchester Airport & they are very welcome to come & have a good look at my e.Jimi.

E.bay say it is for security, fair enough, but I also wonder if it is to stop people doing a deal when they view, seller removing item from site saying no longer for sale so avoids fees. I don’t sell much but have had a request to view a couple of times, the first time I replied to message with my address & telephone number & the message was automatically intercepted by e.Bay & I got a warning that if I tried to send it again my account would be suspended. Second time just said wasn’t allowed to. I am very aware of security issues & do try to put in a good, genuine description together with my area with first part postcode & closest Motorway junction or landmark. I have recently sold a nearly new electric bike on the ‘Pay a £1 fees’ & felt happier that with the new system I did not have to worry about making a decision whether to pay PayPal fees or ask for cash on collection & buyer had a code from e.bay for me to scan to show collected. I know there is always an element of risk selling something but this system worked for me, they buyers details are logged & also stops people coming with cash & wanting a reduction.
