I love Shrophire. I lived in Ironbridge for years..hmmm
Isn’t Shawbury the UFO Capital of, erm.. Shropshire??
LGM anyone..
bikebouyFree MemberI ride it, it’s quite dull unless, like me, you ride hardpack XC on a ss29er and kill it, it’s flat, a few rolling bumps, never been stopped by anyone other than a couple sh*ging in the gourse, gourse can be hard on the legs, sandpits and lime trails, lovely pinepack woods further north in the NF you go. Loadsa pubs if you fancy stopoffs, beware of Neds and soft burms.
Enjoy, try to keep to the trails but if you don’t don’t fret too much you’ll come across another pretty soonish.
TBH you’d be better off going north of the A27 for more varied trails.bikebouyFree MemberNah, deffo the back entrance to the Duomo in Flo’ sorry, lived there for 2 years so know it well.
Too many churches to post here, seriously stunning stuff just inland from Flo’ over to Sienna.. “one must totally go there yah”Best thread so far. I like honesty in build, from worn out labour to inspired design concepts.. Huge fan, thanks for bringing this one up Elfin.. <clap clap>
Whilst I’m on Elfin, that Bar you posted earlier is call Bar Hubbub and I’ve an Appt over the road from there.. Loadsa stuff from the East End, excellent.. “it’s all cockeney init”
Why have the Europeans some inspired designs, we’re only just catching up, which is about time.
More pics please.. loving THIS thread.
bikebouyFree MemberThey’ve a great sense of humour the Danes. I know a couple of roadies and they’re a right old bundle of laughs.
Erm..
Great work ethic though, keen on “clean” foodstuffs, organic yadda yadda.. can’t see much wrong with them TBH. And someone brought up Blonds, well there are more Brunettes there than Blonds now.. Still all pretty mind, and they’re all reasonably healthy (looking at least) don’t find many fat Danes do you..and some stunning architecture, living standards…and clogs.
Maybe they have a point banning “additives” Binning TransFats was a huge step forward, thats to be celebrated.Still no sense of humour though.
bikebouyFree MemberMore bricks, and gold than you can shake a stick at… Sienna

bikebouyFree MemberWhite for road, less mud/crud/horse shi*t stains
Black for MTB, hides mud/crud/horse shi*t stainsbikebouyFree MemberThe letter of the Law states a Ban yet the case has yet to be heard, ok the appeal, so he’s ok to ride.
Quite simple really.
Shouldn’t this be in The Clinic?
bikebouyFree MemberBrill, honestly BBC2 has been a pair of old pants for a long time, this was an exceptional programme and really should have been on BBC4 where all the good progs are.
B’out time something got people talking instead of “B’enders”bikebouyFree MemberEK inspired millions of kids around the world. Despite his family life issues which we, as kids couldn’t give a fek about, got all me and my mates on bikes jumping drain ditches and pipe laying drainage system outlets back where I lived in FL.
If you weren’t seen with a Stars n Stripes cape on on your 10th birthday, then you were most deffo ghey.
I still aspire to those sideburns.
I still aspire to beating my M’sus up,
I still aspire to snuffing coke through $20.00 bills,
I still aspire to having my own TV prog.
All hail gold medallions, wild hair, capes, huge artics full of bikes and blonds in tight jumpsuits.Whats not to love about him??
bikebouyFree MemberOn CN there is a thread entitled “Contadors Head”
It’s hilarious…bikebouyFree MemberTry these lyrics for size..
I was happy in the haze of a drunken hour
But heaven knows I’m miserable nowI was looking for a job, and then I found a job
And heaven knows I’m miserable nowIn my life
Why do I give valuable time
To people who don’t care if I live or die ?Two lovers entwined pass me by
And heaven knows I’m miserable nowI was looking for a job, and then I found a job
And heaven knows I’m miserable nowIn my life
Oh, why do I give valuable time
To people who don’t care if I live or die ?What she asked of me at the end of the day
Caligula would have blushed“You’ve been in the house too long” she said
And I (naturally) fledIn my life
Why do I smile
At people who I’d much rather kick in the eye ?I was happy in the haze of a drunken hour
But heaven knows I’m miserable now“You’ve been in the house too long” she said
And I (naturally) fledIn my life
Why do I give valuable time
To people who don’t care if I live or die ?More lyrics: http://www.lyricsmania.com/heaven_knows_im_miserable_now_lyrics_smiths_the.html
All about Smiths The: http://www.musictory.com/music/Smiths+ThebikebouyFree MemberHmmm, them there Lighweight wheels are bu*gers to keep true you know. I bought a set for my Z5 and sold them cos I had to true them up every couple of hundred miles or so.. I’ve got some FFWDs on and they’ve been superb.
bikebouyFree MemberSome important points raised here.
Who are the bio parents, Who has the right to disclose and who has the right to annonymity.
Points being objective as no one on here yet has actually been in that situation..
Unless..bikebouyFree MemberCustom builders do have lea time waiting, but that wasn’t really the case for me. Bob to Me in 5 weeks. But then I’m a pretty standard height/reach kinda guy.
There are so many custom builders to choose from it’ll boggle your mind. Ira Ryan, well he’s a demi god.For a very short while I chucked my 7900 (off my Orca) on my Z5 whilst waiting for my Red to come through, worked perfectly fine and dandy. Whilst the look of a bikes important, I think it’s the way you ride it’s more of an importance.
bikebouyFree MemberThe only reason I took to the Parlee was because of a roadie buddy getting one at the time and just at that time a woman knocked me off my Orca and killed it dead, so I was looking to replace that. Now I’ve ridden some hairy old beasts in my time and the Orca was the smoothest of them, but it lacked the “kudos” and I was looking for something a bit more “me” and unique. I’d taken a good look around before commiting to the Parlee, Condors Leggaro came close, but chose the Parlee having had a lengthy email conversation with them, they just seemed to care a great deal about me and what I wanted out of a bike. But I think many builders would do that, so don’t discount them either.
What about something from Independant Fabrication?? or Ira Ryan?? can’t go wrong with handbuilt from a specialist..
Just a thought or two..bikebouyFree MemberOld orrifice:
MS Conv, 330D Touring (2off), 530D Touring, 318Ci,Mini CooperS (4off) Cupra Turbo, Mini Conv (2off), Smarts (7off)
New orrifice:
A good few TT’s with a smattering of SAAB’s (9.3’s and a 9.5) and a couple of Merc C’s (but boggo spec’d).bikebouyFree MemberNo pipe nor cigar just simple “fag” what made it worse was he got in front of me and exhaled and I got a mouthful of his secondhand puff..
Urgh!!bikebouyFree MemberIf I was a doner I’d want to know the Womans provenance before letting her loose with my “swimmers”
bikebouyFree MemberI wonder if her bum looks big in that..
To be fair to women drivers though, some can actually drive pretty dam fast, certaily when taking the kids to skool and not seeing roadies on roundabouts, then knocking them off causing broken collarbones and busted bikes yadda yaddda, then driving off..
That’ll be the same woman who lives down the road from me then, who incidentally was prosecuted for said offence and I still see her now on the phone in her puke waggon.bikebouyFree MemberI was overtaken on my way to the station (I was on my Dahon) by a chappie on an FELT F1 (with a decent setup,SRAM Red etc.), whilst he was smoking..
bikebouyFree MemberLooks 695 is a beaut, but a tad mainstream for this fella perhaps,
So.
A Custom from Bob Parlee.
I’ve a Z5 custom and it fits me like a glove. I love it and I’ve only seen one other person (in London) that has one. I’ve had many many comments on both build quality/beauty and exclusiveness, and it rides so well it’s be hard to describe in a few words here, I’ve SRAM Red on it.
Well worth it IMO.bikebouyFree Member2, but a while back now.
1) Mummsy dearest had a sub post office in deepest Derbyshire and some nut job came in the office brandashing a knife and a gun and demanding the £’s out of the safe. I was only bringing Mummsy dearest a coffee and some buscuits whilst I was staying for a few days and ended up with a blooded nose and a scar on my leg when I tried to wrestle the nutter to the ground, my Mum (bless her) stayed behind the armoured counter…I was in the shop. Oh the Gun.. it was fake, you could tell that, the knife wasn’t though. He got put away, he’d done a few in Buxton/Leel a few weeks previously.. He wasn’t “all there” if you get my drift.
2) I got pulled over my desk for firing a lad who was a nob. He’d been playing up for ages and I just had to let him go. He turned all Angry Arnie on me and I ended up loosing a tooth..bikebouyFree MemberHahaha, yes I drilled the rotor out to accept the six bolts, beleive me it was so easy to do and there was more than enough solid metal on the rotor for me to feel confident in doing it. It’s been sweet as since and with some cracking new pads on it I’ve had no issues with it at all,
The rotor inner (not the outer brake surface area) isn’t hardened see, so provided you’ve enough metal there to drill through it’s fine. I’m not the only one to do it.
Anyway that 4 hole single sided hub thing is hard to get rotors for.
Invention/mother/cure.bikebouyFree MemberMichel Herberlin Newport which I won when I won the French Nationals Sailing a Melges24 a few years back.
bikebouyFree MemberYup another vote for a hair dryer pre/post sticker adhesion. Then brake cleaner too to get the glue off.
Some frames have little laquer on them, some none at all. I’d say you’d need a pretty harsh heat to melt the binder in the carbon weave and once done then you’d be hard pressed to get rid of the burn/bubbles thereby making the weave structurally soft and brittle.
You’ll be fine..
If the laquer does come off then rub the remaining part of the frame down with wire wool and make it matt, or re-laquer it with some Yo 2pac..
I have a nekkit carbon bike and have used white tape on the inner forks/stays to great effect. I used the hair dryer to soften the decal and it’s been fine for 8mths now.bikebouyFree MemberRapha caps x3, though not worn all at once.
Flat caps x7, though not all worn at once and only worn backwards, a variety of colours worn in matching stylee.
Baseball caps (a few) for sailing.
Beanies (lots) when I can’t be ars*d to do my hair and it’s cold.bikebouyFree MemberI run a 180mm on mine. I upped from the 160mm std last year. No probs what so ever and not too sure why you want to go any bigger.
I changed the whole brake setup at the same time. The only issue I had was the holes for the rotors. I think mine had 4 holes and the rotor I bought had 6, but 2 fitted perfectly and the other two I had to dill/expand the hole to get it to fit. Funny cos the rear was a 6hole.. which was confusing at the time but hey ho, 180’s I have been running.
Oh, no probs from the gaitor at all.bikebouyFree MemberNo action this morning for me either, light drizzle early on probably put the others off.. Not me though and still in my Rapha LSJ.. I’ve yet to see carbon rims and TTbars anywhere near my commute.
And only one Woman with a child seat and basket..
You lot get all the Views..bikebouyFree MemberYou’d be better off in some stylish trousers with lycra woven into them so they both bend and flex then return to original form. As for a top well a neat jacket covering what you would normally wear would be goodm again lycra woven in ot too..
I guess really you’d be able to pick up anything as Women seem to have this linda thing covered in every day wear..
If you are talking about specifics, and cheap, then you’ll end up looking like the rest of the commuting fleet and Endura will be de rigure.. It’s nice enough.
But you don;t really need to go that route do you??bikebouyFree MemberDepends on how/whats being calculated doesn’t it. THey took mortgages out of one calculation, so there are more than two methods being used.
And it could be “seasonally adjusted” too where another basket of produce is replaced by another, depending on season.. Substitute salad for potatoes as an example..
And old ladies bloomer for thongs.
