I read something over the weekend that says taking ibuprofen is the worst thing you can take, it surpasses the immune system.

    Paracetamol it is then.

I too am resigned to catching it, doesn’t seem that bad if you aren’t in any other those vulnerable groups. Best get it over with I reckon.

Little old lady 2 doors down is self isolating…. She’s an avid Yoga Guru so Lord only knows how she’s going to get on…

Me: Are you ok? haven’t seen you for a few days?

Her: (through the letterbox) Yes love, I’m self isolating.. now if you don’t mind stepping away from the door (she bursts out laughing)

In most peoples cases you’re not actually operating a business

Is my point, you are WFH for an employer not selling services on your own behalf.

I dip in and out of 6music. When it first started I couldn’t stand it, all that jonngly shit does my head in.

But over the last couple of years it’s become a more comprehensive music channel, and yesterday I heard some Contemporary Jazz on it.

Which means I’ll be listening to it more and more.

Can’t stand the chuffing crisp club, nor that bloke who insists on playing kids TV music from the 70’s…

    Brilliant thanks for asking.

Supplied 21234 laptops and provisioned all of them in 6 days, and distributed them to all users allocated. We’ve got a few been refused (looks like those thinking WFH means no work 💁)

Full support from employer and clients.

    Boom!

    Bring it on.

Just popped into Lexus to be told they’re stopping selling the CT/ES which are effectively saloon/hatchbacks and concentrating on SUV’s.

Is it right Spain has said “turn planes away, go back to origin”?

What will Gammon do now for anollidai?

We had a referendum to keep people out of this country, leave em’ there IMO.

    Less Tory voters?

Fewer? Anyway, I’d happily support this.

Employers will get to see that lots of people can be trusted to work from home and still be productive.

This is absolutely a positive. The UK needs to accept that workers can be trusted, we are not in t’mill anymore and we don’t need nannying nor bullying.

And positively helps mental and physical health, cuts down on pointless commuting and simplifies the UK age old transportation “system”

Surely if you you remove huge swaves of the populace the distancing has an effect,

Didn’t we have a referendum on this very topic?

Is it time for universal basic income to be introduced as an emergency measure?

Conservatives are the party of “business” (or so they claim) and why you propose is something Labour wanted to bring in…. but you didn’t vote for them so you’re not going to get it are you.

BA announcing job losses is the tip of the iceberg IMO… and plenty of people will be forced into Zero Hour Contracts to stay alive and out of debt.

But that’s what was voted for, so that’s what you’ve got.

My sister was invited to study there after achieving a 1st in Applied Maths via the OU. She popped 93% score and was called up by Cambs to do a post grad in Maths (can’t remember exactly what)

She thought she’d be laughed at attending, far from it. Being brilliant meant lots of students looking for help and assistance came knocking and have remained great friends.

She came from nothing, no school exams, ran away at 16 and after her first child at 21 decided to do OU study.. and it continued from there.

She said Cambs is one of the nicest friendliest collages where you aren’t looked down on if you come from nothing. The main cliques exist because kids tend to come from the same schools into Cambs and have already built up friendships over previous years.

I personally would be over the moon if my son went there, and I’d be helping him as much as I can to enjoy the experience.

    Best of luck.

Boris can either lead that effort, or follow in it’s wake. It’s interesting that he’s chosen the latter.

Lyingblohard isn’t interested in the British public as a whole, he only serves himself and his crony’s.

The first option wouldn’t even occur to him, none of his cronies would offer it up either because they just hide under Whitehall’s cloak of Invisibility when called to any sort of account.

He has neither manner nor spirit to lead anything other than his nose to the bog.

this Friday they’re trialing everyone in the business, throughout the country, working from home. Offices not even open.

    Anyone else hear of similar?

    we did that last Friday

Yeah, I made a right brag about on here yesterday… we’re WFH until further notice…

But as someone mentioned, there are still techs in the sites still there to support if necessary.

A few mates who work for other large Tech Companies are still going into the office as I type…

What will happen to all those who work for the civil service? Doubt they’ll be allowed to WFH and given laptops..

Sharing the good news: Petrols come down in price 👍😍👍

At 48 would anyone recommend doing their bike test, or just accept that ship has sailed?

I passed my test yonks ago… but sold my TL200 about a year after passing. Never ridden a motorbike on the road until last year, about 25yrs gap give or take.

Mates have bikes, those bike BMW 1200 enduro GS things… one said “have a refresher course before you hit the road on your trials bike” so I went to Barhnstomer near Alton and booked a weekends refresher course on one of those R9t scramblers.
Brilliant, utterly brilliant. Gave loads of sensible advice on handling/holding/starting and stopping, distance and road manners… even though I’m not going to use 70% of the knowledge it’s given me confidence that you forget you had when back in your yoof.

There is no reason on earth why you shouldn’t pass your test at whatever age. I’m sure there are riders around that are in their 80’s and thinking about it…

    And Yay!!! Once more…

I’ve just been given the “get outa town” / “wfh till further notice” hammer thrown at me…

Which is hilarious as 99% of my working life is from home 🤗🤪🤪🥳

I only went in today to eat from one of the 9 fabulous restaurants. And the only bad thing I can add is I’ve got wind from the artichoke salad 💨💨💨💨💨💥

This outbreak is going to be more than fifty percent idiocy control rather than infection control.

    51.8% ?

As for LyingBloHard, Y’a voted the monkey bloke in, whaaaaYaexpect.

I’m not going near a Whailing Daily Rag, but this does make me wonder what their take on LyingBloHard’s “let gammon die” attitude is.

Have you tried running? Or a-n-other fitness regime that stimulates the whole body?

I’ve never been a worrier, found sometimes getting things in perspective a challenge… so years ago started trail running. Been wonderful for focus on the immediate stuff and let go of the crap.

Worked for me. Don’t ride bikes much anymore, trail run instead.

Personally I prefer to use “indoctrinating”. It sounds much more sinister.

    🤪

We did use “witch dipping” back in the 90’s…. which was hilarious.
My old Director was a proper nobber, he got away with so much. Name calling a particular specialty.

He’d be punching out of his grave if he heard me use the term “onboarding” too..

    C’mon, y’all know I’m a ****… just thought I’d reinforce the stereotype.

And despite what you may think about the term “onboarding” its a well know worn out word that replaces 6 words. Time is money, wasted words = misinterpretation.

Decent road bike is a long term purchase

I’m going to say this. Road bikes (unless ridden over cobbles every weekend) last way longer than MTBs. Plus, roadies tend to settle on a frame size once they’re happy with the fit then upgrade as stuff wears out (so do MTBers) I’m just speaking from experience here, and a mix of my mates bikes that they’ve owned.

I’d take a straw pole and say our road bikes are at least 4yrs old, high grade frames.

But hey, don’t let that stop you enjoying road bikes. Surprisingly for some they’re fun too.
