    What, there are 2 cougars??

I understand they are planning an expedition to climb the twin peaks of Mt Killimanjaro later this summer.

Don’t be tempted to buy one of those cheap combined crank pusher tool and socket for the bolt. I had one that just pushed itself out of the extrator threads in the crank, destroying the threads. Got a Park tools one and it was fine. Cheap tools can have expensive consequences.

TBH I looked at that and just saw a monkey and didn’t initally realise the reason for the outrage. Once I’d made the connection there was a bit of an “ooooh” moment.
I can see some groups being outraged, but I don’t think someone in the public eye would post something like that with the inention of being racist if they didn’t want their career to plummet.

Was there plenty of grease inside the CV joint itself? The clicking can be a sign of a dry joint, so its possible the grease just needs to be distributed throughout the joint.

nickc not a TH fan then?
FWIW I think TJ is doing exactly the right thing, giving people plenty of warning that he is approaching. No different from what any other normal person would do. MAMIL is the one with the problem.

If theres an uplift, why would you bring an e-bike? BPW is all about going down. Use the uplift, you get more downs per day and you get to sit in a van with a load of sweaty bikers for 10 minutes. Whats not to like?

Drew a cock and balls with added spurt on a vans windscreen the other evening. Its been dumped there for a month, so thought it fair game.
My son and I enjoy a good laugh at farting. Im only 47 this year.

Repair one? How would you do that?
I’d be a little wary of it, but their stems are usually pretty overbuilt so just keep an eye on the scratch.
Or if its new or from e-bay, return it?

If it seems too cheap to be true, theres probably a reason, and not a good one at that. By all means take a look, but be prepared to walk away.

I’d suggest a trip to the LBS with biscuits and a smile would probably locate one of those in their spares box. Most BSOs still come with that sort of BB.

This is what bullies rely on, they intimidate people and then they’re scared to do anything about it.
How would you feel if it was your child or member of your family? Would you be still be happy to let them off?
You have right and the law on your side. Prosecute them, they may just learn a lesson the hard way.

Invert the bike for 5 minutes, allows oil to move up to the top of the forks and lubricate the foam seals and bushings.
Right the bike and leave it for 5-10 minutes before riding to allow excess oil to return back to the lowers.

Get yer car taxed online and don’t use it except to take it for its MOT.
Although, many people seem to get away without having either for quite some time. If you’re really bothered and can’t tax it for whatever reason, then park it somewhere discrete off the main roads for a day or two prior to the MOT.

My FS bike only has 100mm of rear travel, but it really doesn’t hold me back. Given the bikes intended use I’d suggest that 100mm will be fine for pretty much everything barring DH I suppose.

It’ll be fine, I’m 46 and can sleep anywhere. Will bring the earplugs.
Hopefully mid-week at the end of may will mean there aren’t too many students about. Maybe. At least one night I’ll be rather pissed myself. Zzzzz
    Will update after.

I was was quite reckless with our old Mazda 323 1.8’s cam belt, but I knew it was a non-interference engine, so the worst that would happen is it would spazz out and not go.
As it happened the tensioner spring went and it jumped a few teeth, my OH amazingly managed to coax it two miles to her mothers and dump it there. I couldn’t even get it to start!
Tow home and an couple of evenings work to replace the water pump whilst I was at it. Job done! Still going strong now having sold it to a mate, 6 years later, although rust is probably going to hasten its demise at 20 years old this year!

I’ve taken the plunge and booked Palmers Lodge at Swiss Cottage for two nights for the princely sum of £25. I just hope there are no rowdy students, as I’m a grumpy bastard if I get woken up at night!

Thanks for the replies, the hostel looks like a possibility, earplugs and sleep mask required I suspect.
BIL is off to Snowdonia and the house is techincally his OHs so I feel its a bit cheeky to demand the keys off him! We get on fine and hes a mountainbiker too.

I’m with Cougar on this, vinyl these days is just a bandwagon powered by on trend cash. There is so much snobism about your hifi setup and what colour splatter version you have of your repress on 180g wax.
Yes I have vinyl from the 90s (some are actually worth £100+), because I hated cassettes, couldn’t afford a CD player and happened to have a decent-ish Sony turntable and amp setup.
The ONLY thing I missed about vinyl are the covers and the sleeve inserts. Everything else is just a faff.

That would have been a useful bit of information to have included in the original post.
I doubt a thorn would have affected the tyres structural integrity, so a patch inside might be possible. You could even try putting some latex type sealant in there and letting it seal the hole?

People going for interviews often forget its for both parties to decide whether you fit the job and the job fits you.
I’d certainly want clarification at interview stage whether you’d be able to WFH 2 days a week. 3 hours commuting is quite a big chunk of your time every day. I commuted for 2 hours a day and that was enough. I certainly don’t wish to be someone who sits on the train for an hour working in the morning, then at work all day and another hour working on the way home.

Im using Pure Planet (recommended choice by MSE) at the moment and they seem to be pretty reasonable. Its all done through an app and is pretty easy overall. Transfer went smoothly and their payments are pretty resonable. More in winter, less in summber. Saved me about £200 pa.

This is the very first result on google.co.uk, you did google didn’t you?

The Newer BH90 hose is actually SMALLER in internal diameter, giving better braking performance. (You lose less pressure from liquid compression.) The BH59 and BH90 Olives are identical, the barbs however are different, because of the different internal diameter of the tubing. They are not interchangeable.

But in the other direction towards Newtown there’s a cracking looking descent, again down to the shoreline, then some boardwalky stuff in the marshy bits in the vicinity of Newton Creek. This is the bit that has all the No Cycling signs.

Yes its not bad that descent, I’ve ridden it a few times, you don’t relise how much height you gain from Yarmouth. Its not particularly techy, but its a good blast, but then its boardwalky and access roads back to Hampstead road, plus I have been told off before now riding down there, but meh! I don’t get why there is such an issue with cycling, its probably one of the least used bits of the coastal path, mainly because its pretty dull, I don’t think I’ve encountered anyone along there.

Stef, I’ve ridden around Hamstead and Bouldnor without any issues for years. Hamstead there isn’t that much good stuff, Bouldnor used to be good, until it slipped down towards the sea. Never (knowingly) encountered the bobble hatted one, shame.
I’ve toyed with clambering over the wall at the end of the E Cowes prom, but you’d be going in blind with no idea of any of the paths. Perhaps a rekky on foot might be worth it?

We are indeed VERY lucky on the IOW.
Tennyson down is on of the places the NT don’t like people riding, that gets ignored by me, especially as the is livestock grazing up there, doing far more “damage”.
StefMcDef, you’re talking about the Luccombe Loon aren’t you!
