The base coats dried really well so would all depend on what you were clear coating them with. If you did a scratch proof clear coat or ceramic clear coat then you should be bullet proof
The guys super helpful if you need to ask any questions too

Used cars are through the roof at the moment as they can’t make many new cars due to a chip shortage. This won’t get any better till they get the chips to make the new ones !

No problems. If you want to know the trade price of any of the kits send me a link and I’ll let you know.
The trade cards are fairly easy to get to be fair

I’ve got a cheap neodymium magnet. Use a screw tied to a string and pull that through with the magnet. Then tie the string to the cable and pull it through

Hi tpbiker, I was the bloke who was doing the bike frames. Drop me a pm if you like but my pms are a bit flakey.
Depending on what sort of thing you’re after you could self prep it and take it to a local body shop and ask how much it would cost for them to Chuck some paint on for you.
Happy to offer advice if you want some or can help with any decals you might need as I still have the vinyl cutter for and graphics etc

    Id also not bother.
You’d need to flat back the existing peeling paint till it was a reasonable surface. Spot prime areas. And basically paint the side of the car. Fully base coat the doors and wing and clearcoat the whole side.
You could machine polish the doors where the paint has sunk and gone dull and touch up the peeling areas to make it look better

I’ve been painting cars for 20 plus years and that’s what I’d do. Especially if you are saving and don’t plan to keep the car

Thanks everyone for their kind words about me. Makes me blush.
I tend to go chemical dip over sandblasting as it removes any corrosion and seems More gentle on the threads.
Then I tend to lightly cavity wax the interior of the tubes with a long pokey probe just for my own piece of mind that I’ve done all I can to make the job last

Personally I’d say get a professional to do it as the finish will be better than you can produce at home. 2k paints out of a spray gun will be better than you can produce with a rattle can.
As for cleaning it before then you could block the entrances and give it a quick jet wash. Just make sure it’s all dried off before spraying.

My tips would be use a guide coat. So spray the whole frame with most of a coloured aerosol. This will show up any chips or bits you’ve missed and give a better visual guide.
    Don’t start with 80 it’s too coarse

I’d guidecoat then 240. Then guidecoat. Then 320 then guidecoat. Then 400. Then prime the whole thing. And flat with 800 ready to paint.
Make sure you paint on a warm day if possible. And don’t mask up for a fade. You don’t need to.
Pm me if you’d like any other advice as I’ve done loads of frames

I’m not having a pop at brendog (sick) about riding outdoors with his mates.
The initial moan was about going indoors to a business to paint his bike.
If we are going moan let’s keep it on topic 😂🤣😂

I have one and I’d recommend it. After having one and then riding with out it I realised how much I like it. When you are riding fast or it’s windy it’s nice for a visual heads up if you can’t hear a car coming.

The olly Wilkins vid he’s just uploaded is more of the same and he even sarcastically says it’s “essential “ whilst filming himself and driving his car

Scummy cause if everyone was a little bit more sensible maybe we wouldn’t have such a high death rate.
They are holding hands at 5min point in the video so obviously not that fussed about common sense

And you say I’m the angry one?

All I said was is he breaking the rules.
As far as I’m concerned he is. Painting a bike frame isn’t essential any more than Instagrammers trips to Dubai are. I understand he’s got bills to pay but there are plenty of people who can’t work who also have bills to pay.

I haven’t been furloughed and have been at work all the way through as I’m an essential worker and have bills to pay and a toddler to take care off.
I’m having a massive party tomorrow round my house anyway and you’re all invited. I’m going to put it on YouTube and claim it’s my job so should be alright eh?

Chips away are not a paintless dent removal company. They will fill it and paint the wing. That colour looks a possible pain to match too. You need to look for dent devils or a local similar company

    bigyim

Depending on how much you like your car I’d get a specialist in. If you have a go yourself then decide to use a paint less dent removal person you might have ruined their chances of ever getting it out. I’d be getting a quote before trying myself. Some of the stuff I’ve seen them get out is incredible
