I apply with a brush to an even thin coat and take all the excess off with a cloth that wont give of bits after an hour. If you give it a good going over / polish with a cloth as it drys it helps the level of sheen, only necessary for the top / final coat. The osmo oils are excellent. Definitely no need to sand between coats.

I cant do it this year due to family holiday, I really wish it wasn’t the first weekend in August as we always seem to be busy and it is such a good event.

    Enjoy.

Please can we ignore the planning permission issue and just focus on the cabin aspect, a toilet may not be essential.

PP might not be a problem, I think the president has already been set in our road. It could be built as an extension to our house but this would cost considerably more money. I am not completely against the idea of ignoring planning permission.

I have seen Mcmoonters creations and have copied several of his wood pile storage solutions. I am capable of building it from scrap but this would take a long time, the end goal is a usable building for Mrs bigsurfer not really another project for me.

Matt, that looks amazing. We are looking for a cheaper option to a solid block build building, I am not expecting it to last for 100 years. A lot of the log cabins at £2000 ish look like they are actually made of very thin soft timber. I am only currently starting my looking.

Yes the internet café was mainly the internet / computer services for foreign students / les technically savy people or those that needed fast speeds for the day. The café part was only really to offer those sat at a pc for an hour some light refreshment. We did open at 8am and got a few regular people pop in for a takeaway coffee on their way past. We never pushed this side of business as we weren’t really geared up to being able to cope with the rush and speed needed to make money. Everybody involved was young and we just did what we wanted to do which didn’t really include working hard before 10:30. It made good reliable money though.

If you are going to open up on or around Queen St in Exeter and appeal to the college crowd then make sure you can get your pricing right to entice them in when they only have to walk a little further to get to Macdonalds which now does very cheap coffee etc. I used to work in the internet café in the semi circle by Central station, it is a long time ago but their is plenty of foot fall along that road. Their does also seem to be a reasonable turn over of café / food outlets. Even Boston Tea party used to struggle with large groups of college students taking advantage of the comfy sofas while only buying a very small amount of food / drink. You obviously know your onions so I hope you do try it and make a go of it, I will be sure to come and visit from the food you have posted above which sounds just my kind of food. I would imagine that the rent on Queen street is very high but that is just a gut instinct.

It is very normal for a no claim discount to only be applied to one car. If you need a period where both cars need to be insured then you need a temporary policy your current insurance company would be the best people to talk to.

Bumper crops of strawberries is looking likely just started picking last week. The plum tree is full to bursting.

Both the apple trees are still quite young one looks to have a good crop but the other produced lots of blossom at the same time as the other but only has a few apples coming through.

The original will have almost certainly come from smudge. I have just bought a replacement battery from him for my troutie light, the original has done 6 years of service average use of twice per week so very happy with his products.

I have a Equilibrium disc and it fits Continental 4000s 2 28mm x 700CC tyres that fine with SKS guards as long as you deflate the rear tyre before removing the rear wheel. I love the bike it is a brilliant ride.

It doesn’t have specific disc mounts though so you either have to double up the guard mounts or use P clip type rack.

Otter Bright or Doombar for me every time. Did try the Spring Otter at the weekend and that was very palatable as well.

I don’t have any specific pains but could be comfier, I haven’t heard anybody say they had a bike fit and it didn’t improve anything.

Pallets can be a really good source of wood and would be ideal for batten material, also the blocks are prefect with holes drilled in them for insect homes.

If you can find pallets marked or stamped with HT it means they were heat treated as opposed to using chemicals as their preservatives.

Just seen the pic of the second crack and I reckon the frame is probably scrap from a financial point of view, I am sure it can be welded if you really love the thing that much.

You need to get the OD of the tube measured accurately if it is a common metric size I would remove the forks drill a small hole in the end of the crack to stop it continuing up the head tube and find a clamp to fit over the outside of the tube. A jubilee clip or proper type band clamp would be better than nothing but I think the most important point is to drill the end of the crack to stop it getting longer.

To answer a few of the questions. I don’t drink tea or coffee or any other form of caffeine drink, I haven’t drunk alcohol since new year. I am normally in bed by 10 or at the latest 10.30. I don’t need to get up to pee in the night. I am pretty sure it is just a routine but I have tried everything I can think to break the routine.

I have just had a nice set built by http://www.spokesmanwheels.co.uk/ contact mark with your requirements. I got Stans Grail rims on novatec hubs, weigh in around 1700g for just over £300. I did need a fairly strong wheel as currently around 100kg so needed 32 spokes front and rear also it is for commuting duties. I collected so have met Mark and I was really impressed by his knowledge and service.

Quite happy to shim out the disc, what do people consider to be a sensible clearance currently have less than 2mm probably closer to 1mm. I presume their will be very little flex that low down the wheel, possible more from the fork actually flexing. Don’t want to damage what to me has been a very expensive front wheel.

Give it a whirl, A lesson is a great place to start you can always book another if you like it. I tried for a good few weeks to teach myself and then got 2 x 2 hour lessons over a weekend and I was away, standing at the end of the first day and quite a bit of control by the end of the second day. Progress can be very slow if you don’t have the time to do it all the time.

    Its incredible addictive.

I have just had a lovely set built by spokesman wheels. Stans grail rims on novatec hubs suitable for a shimano 11 speed hub with sapin D light spokes. My build was specifically for a heavier rider. Speak to Mark. I only picked up the wheels on Friday so have yet to ride them but the build looks excellent and his service was very good.

Got my wife one for Christmas you don’t need to remove the watch from its strap to charge it, can’t comment on the rest just yet.

We have had 2 children as home births bought the birthing pool for the first one but my wife liked the tens machine so much she didn’t want to stop using it to get in the pool. We had 2 midwifes at both the births plus a trainee at one. The only concern the midwife had about the water birth was about my ability to lift my wife out of the pool if the worst was to be happening. They have hoists in hospital. I was very happy that I was more than big enough and strong enough to lift my wife out. Good luck with a nice trouble and stress free birth.
