You can’t open an .rfa file format in Inventor I just tried and I don’t have Revit to try and convert it that way.

East Devon doesn’t appear to have got the Memo, currently 24 degrees and been raining this morning. Its quite pleasent really.

It actually takes quite a big Van to get a longboard inside without coming into the front seating area. SWB vivaro with a bulk head behaind the drivers seats could only squeeze a 9’6″ longboard going inbetween the passenger seat structure with a cut out in the bulkhead.

I can actually get a 10′ longboard in both a saloon and an estate Mk1 octavia between the windscreen and the the boot with the front and rear seat folded down.

I am 44 and just learning to Surfskate, I love it. I have surfed for a good while but it has made my surfing better. Did half an hour at lunch time, wear full pads and a helmet so far have avoided injury but fired the board off a good few times.

I scorched the top of a wooden table on an Ooni 2 when having a big party and running it for several hours. I just overhang the fire box off the back of the table now which seams fine.

We just had a big party for my next door neighbour both being 50 and 10 years clear of breast cancer. To say she has embraced life to the full since having it would be one of the worlds greatest understatements, I am just shattered thinking about the cool amazing adventures they have had in the last 9 and a bit years.

Stay positive, modern treatments are pretty amazing these days.

Just back from a self drive trip to Le Grand Bornand in France. First time with the kids and it really is an excellent resort for beginners. A good network of Green’s that link all across the resort and a couple of good beginner areas. Some nice blues to progress onto. We had amazing weather. Nice and sunny at the start if a little warm and spring like then a massive dump of fresh snow on day 3 followed by 4 perfect bluebird days with a huge range of easily accessible off piste to play on. Didn’t have a single vaccine check in the resort at any lift or cafe. Mask wearing in ques was not enforced and very few people were wearing masks except in the Gondola’s. Fantastic week had by all.

For vapour barrier I got mine from screwfix or tool station. For Cellotex I found the best prices were from a local small independent builders merchant. It depends how much you need but often the Delivery charge makes up a significant part of the cost if ordering from outside your local area.
Also worth remembering it takes up quite a lot of space to store and is easily damaged. Again the local builders merchant who deliver for free meant I could order it in 2 batches.

Is it just me that thought right from the off that the flexible drive for the alternator was a disaster waiting to happen. I know they were completely stuck for other solutions but I can’t see that hanging together when used in anger. Love the project, there patience to do it right and not cut corners is commendable.

Unfortunately Start Rescue will cover me in the UK but not in Europe.

We are driving for Half term. This will be my first family trip after a 10 year long break waiting for funds and the family to be at the right point to try it. We have the option of practically free accommodation close to La Cluzas and Le Grand-Bornand. These resorts are pretty low 1300 – 2000 tops with lots of the green and blue runs more like 1300 – 1700. 10 years ago at the end of Feb I wouldn’t have worried about it. I am prepared for it being slushy mid to late afternoon. I understand fully that there are no guarantees. Has anybody been to similar low resorts on the edge of the alps in the last few years at the end of Feb. We will have a car so can travel if necessary.

That Twmpa bike is amazing, first time I have ever thought that wood might be a credible alternative. I was presently surprised that the frame price was only £3500 for an early production item I think that is pretty comparable.

I absolutely love the look of the frame I might never ride it because I would be too busy staring at those joints.

As a kid we were given the task the only stipulation was that my Dad didn’t want a name that you were likely to hear being shouted in the local park. We ended up with a dog called Donut. Maybe it was coincidence but the name seemed to suit her personality perfectly.

I am with you, have tickets for Beautiful Days festival which if it goes ahead will just be an emotional, amazing, overly drunk 3 days in a field. Normally catch at least 1 band a month locally so its been one of the main things I have missed. Can’t wait to get back to it.

I am not a big watching sports fan much prefer to take part, I am genuinely so nervous for the prospects of another CAV win it must be terrible if you spend your life watching sport.

Expected finish time between 4:26 and 4:44 I will be watching. Come on Cav, I am not sure I have any tears left after Tuesday though.

Joined, never done it before but off the bike with a broken toe so more time to watch the TDF is the only positive I can come up with at the moment.

Ginkster & AnyExcuseToRide thanks very much for the help and advice will check out the links you have sent. I am within permitted development and as it’s more than 2m from the boundary I have 3m height to play with so a warm roof is possible.

Ajc thanks for the comments. Will put a vapour barrier on the inside between the stud work and the plasterboard, forgot to mention that bit. I hadn’t sized the roof truss’s. The snow loading in Devon is very low but will probably use 170 X 50mm timbers. Cables will be sized correctly although I am wondering about doing the cabling in trunking on top of the plasterboard.

    Thanks for the advice.

Sharkbait, you may well be correct. Mrs Bigsurfer was chatting to some paramedics the other day and it turned out that one of them was basically doing full on the job training to be a paramedic starting from pretty much nothing. It just started us thinking. Some sort of assistant type position would be perfect to get a better idea of the exact type of work she may want to train for.

I presume the only way to find how deep the drain is to measure down the manhole cover.

    bigsurfer

No the drain currently runs to the side of the house where the current shed and patio are but under where the new shed will be built.

    bigsurfer

To clarify the access points will not be directly affected by the new build.

    bigsurfer

There is an access point in the back garden and another one in the front garden. They did come and check the drain a few months back the first time in the 10years we have lived hear. Won’t need any deep foundations just 150mm of hardcore and 150mm of concrete. I was going to build it to be a hang out space for the kids but with an eye on it being a garage once the kids stop using it in around 10 years. Wanted the concrete floor for when it gets used as a garage.

Thanks all and garage-dweller. The car I am hoping to buy is in the cheap motoring class. It has had the emissions fix done, confirmed by VW dealer. My driving is fairly well suited to a car with a DPF when back in work its 14 miles each way of hilly A roads. Gets a good run 1 hour each way at national speed limit at least once per fortnight. Might look into getting an aftermarket Remap to undo the harm done by the emissions fix. Going to test drive it on Friday if it doesn’t sell before.

I agree with scruffywelder that if Hogs are out through the day especially little young ones then its a sign that they can’t hibernate and need to be taken to a rescue center for a check up and possible overwintering somewhere.

Have had them go on slightly older passats and they normally also give a judder to the power steering towards full lock when stationary. I ran our for several thousand miles before changing it with no issue. Can’t imagine it would failstraight away or constitute an MOT failure. Its easy to check if you can remove the tension from the belt, soin the pulley one way and it should free wheel and spin it the the other and it should be solid once they fail they are solid in both directions.

Definitely give Cycle in Honiton a go, Gary and Suzi are superb. Sounds like it is probably your closest as well.

Zilog you are correct it looks like Solar PV is self funding which puts it out for us. Might still look into Solar thermal as we need a new hot water cylinder ideally unvented anyway.

    bigsurfer

Zilog I am by no means an expert but I put our details into the Covid scheme and both solar thermal and PV seemed to be covered with quite a few local installers. I was after solar thermal but now thinking that solar PV might be the better option. I don’t as yet know what the real world savings could be though.

Thanks Greybeard but my experience is that you still need at least 32gb or prefferably 64gb of actual phone storage to run a reasonable amount of apps, SD storage just doesn’t seem to work for too many things.

Slight thread highjack but I presume the weight of https://www.superstarcomponents.com/en/mavic-open-pro-ust-wheelset.htm can’t be right at 1460g for a 32 spoke wheelset. It would probably be my perfect wheel if it was. £200 for the set with the code road50.

My boss at work told me it was the best thing I had ever done when I emailed around a link to lightningmaps.org during a thunder storm. Not sure what that says about the rest of my work but a compliment is a compliment.

Exactly what you said Mr Overshoot. Both of our local bakers buy in bulk for there own needs but also bag up 1.5kg bags for resales and sell 50g blocks of fresh yeast. Because its a manual process at the level of the local bakery they can easily up the amount they bag etc. Unfortunately everybody only supports the big supermarkets that are incredible fine tuned machines that are also very inflexible when something changes rapidly. The only downside is that right now they are having to use plastic bags as the supply of paper bags has also run out.

Pierre, Thanks for that, I am more than happy with £10 per month just didn’t twant to have to pay for a year up front if it doesn’t get used.

    Thanks

How much does simply Piano cost I am struggling to see the actual cost after a 7 day trial period?

    bigsurfer
    Free Member

Both of our town baker’s have a range of flour always in stock and fresh yeast as well. It’s just the supermarkets that can’t now cope with the demand for packing flour into small bags.

As a 90kg rider I had a pair of the CERO AR24 and struggled with the rear wheel snapping a spoke after about a year, replaced properly by a good wheel builder but it kept snapping other spokes. I then had the wheel completely rebuilt with heavier gauge DT spokes but it still wont stay true. The rim is just to weak to take any decent tension. It might be unlucky although I am 90kg I have never struggled with any other wheels. Now running Mavic Ksyrium Elite and they have been perfect so far. From memory they have a weight limit of 110Kg or 120kg where they suggest more regular routine maintenance will be required.
