I don’t think TTing is going to die completely but it will become more niche than it already is with fewer and fewer courses… This is also going to be a problem for road races that have courses that go through 20mph zones too.

I had this a few years ago, they were pretty insistent they wanted it repaired even though I wanted it replacing. In the end I got the money it would have cost to repair it (after it’d been sent to the repair shop and assessed at their cost) and that partially paid for the new frame. I won’t use those insurers again.

He wasn’t exactly flat out on all the climb though was he, he was talking to Ryan Mullen and the camera, and talking pretty well at that… Not sure you would be able to do that in a 20 minute all out effort, I certainly cant. His power was also up and down as he tried to hang on and race, rather than a steadier effort that would have probably given him a better time. Even so 4.2 W/kg as a starting point is still massive

Think I’d be going for the Kinesis Aithein disc as it looks amazing in the purple, though a Bowman would also be a good choice. I had a Bowman Palace R and it’s the best handling bike I’ve ridden. I ran 25’s on wide rims and never had any issues with clearance. It’s just gone back for a warranty issue so I’ll be getting one of the new Palace 3Cs as a replacement, apparently the new frames will take 30mm tyres.

Thanks for the suggestions, after more investigation it turns out I have a crack in the chainstay by the BB 😔

Yeah netflix is awesome, especially if you can use both the US and Uk version with an add on for chrome. New series of arrested development soon!

I’m 6’4 as well and I ride an xl spesh pitch. I’ve got mine with a 50mm stem and 800mm wide bars an it fits me pretty well. It’s running 55s and 1×10 gears and a reverb at the moment and is great for long rides (did the dyfi on it last year) and downhill playing. They don’t make pitches any more so maybe look at an xl enduro/ second hand.

I had the same problem as you with my set. The tst2 cartridge is a bit of a turd tbh, the first time it happened they went back to windwave and got a replacement cartridge, the second time I thought sod it and cracked them open and did the shim stack modification here: http://forums.mtbr.com/shocks-suspension/marzocchi-55-tst2-conversion-shim-damping-step-step-410874.html I got the shims from Loco for about 6 quid and now the forks are much improved, so I would recommend this if you don’t mind invalidating your warranty (mine were cheep so I didn’t!)

“The best forks. 2011 TST2 shimmed stacked/converted 55’s of course. Glad I took the risk voiding the warranty doing that mod.”

Sorry for the hijack, but can I ask where from and what size shims you used? I can’t find any in the Uk despite being a google expert…

How will the system work with people getting over taken on their runs, ie, a rider who finishes ahead of the guy who started before him? Anyhow im sure it’ll be a great weekend 😀

My first one and I really enjoyed it (though not so much the cramp half way round!) a great atmosphere and really well organised with some of the best downhills ever, especially the one that finished with the bar! 🙂
