I’d have a look for routes starting around Cilcain taking in Moel Famau, lots of good riding round there,if a little moist at present. Some may be a little cheeky but its pretty quiet around there at present and you can string together routes with virtually no road sections at all.
Or just get a map and explore.

Here’s a good route to start you off.

I always park at the little carpark opposite the entrance to tackeroo campsite. All you have to do then is cycle through the edge of the campsite and join the trail with tackeroo bit. Postcode is
    WS15 2UA

I also always use this car park as its great base for all the off piste natural trails and it never closes.

Some cracking riding in that area , It just takes a bit of time and exploration,I’ve had a few u turn moments etc, but always found people in that area to be pleasant enough if you are initially happy and cheery to them.
Bit moist at present , but isn’t everywhere.

Mate, I feel your pain but as with a lot of transactions in life by entering into the transaction (i.e. by handing over monies and goods to be transported) you are entering into a legally binding contract and the supplier does not have to highlight the T&C’s to you the responsibility is on you to read them.
As far as their right to dispose of the goods without notifying you I fully agree is wrong (not necessarily illegal) but its stated in their T&C’s so they will argue that point in court.

I hope you don’t think I’m trying to defend the RM here, I agree they are a bunch of useless f**kwits and I feel for you but this is just another example of how companies operate under the umbrella of complicated and implied T&C’s.I’m not saying it is right but they will defend the case by stating that all their actions are highlighted in their T&C’s.

I personally speak from experience of this with RM and some motorcycle parts I sent and despite me using full legal advice I was advised it would be money down the drain to pursue the matter further.

I am wholeheartedly behind you publicising this as the vast majority of people do not realise how exposed they are to this sort of thing when sending items

The problem is as mentioned above, by handing over the item and payment you have entered into a contract with RM.

They discharge all responsibility for checking if the item is prohibited with this statement lifted from their website and states that they will dispose of it as they see fit.

You are responsible for checking whether or not an item is prohibited or restricted. If you send prohibited goods or restricted goods (and you do not comply with the relevant terms and conditions), we may deal with your items as we see fit, including but not limited to, disposing of the parcels concerned (in whole or in part).

Its harsh but I think you will have a hard battle in court to prove its theft or anything similar.

Nearest station (I think) is Barmouth, BUT its nearly a 4 hr trip from Brum and then a 12 mile ride to CYB from the station.

Not wanting to prolong the agony of this discussion, but as I mentioned earlier it is not only zero emission vehicles that qualify for a VED of £0 its vehicles below 100g/KM of CO2.
So my 1.6 TDI Seat Leon drops nicely into that and £0 is what I’m charged for my VED disc each year.

No one pays road tax any more, as the government changed it to Vehicle excise duty, so its flawed from the start. We all have the same right to use the roads, people pay to use their vehicle. But the average joe, is completely clueless to this.

Had this discussion with a guy at work last week.
As my road car has emissions below 99g/KM co2 my vehicle excise duty for the year is £0 for 12 months so should I not drive my car on the road??????

Bought my last 2 bikes from them and service has always been superb.
Also they will ‘price match’ most stuff and in a lot of cases beat a genuine quote.

it was as follows; SHIMANO FC M552 10 SPEED 175mm HOLLOW TECH

CYB is in my opinion one of the best trail centres in the UK and again in my opinion 100% better than cannock.
There is a lot of up and a lot of down oh and some rocks

I have a Garmin 200 (like you) and upload routes to that.
It provides a breadcrumb trail that I’ve found to be adequate when following most trails and if you deviate more than 5 or so metres from the route it beeps so you don’t have to keep looking down at it all the time.
Not so good on open moorland, but more than adequate for most trail journeys.
