Missed out,the 2 stores near me were sold out by the time I got there.
Might have to look at the Sports Pursuit one.
    Any reviews on that?

I ended up going with a Pendle rack. Solid, can carry 4 enduro bikes including an XXL.

Solid rack, more industrial than Thule, I like the fact that it uses wheel loops rather than channels and you can get wider ones for 2.6 tyres. easy to adjust for different length bikes as well.

I like the 4 bike carrier so much I’ve bought a 2 bike version as well.

Another vote for the Pinnacle Lithium, my girlfriend loves hers, quick enough on the road, fit some MTB tyres and it’s a great bike for light off road duties.
Nice frame with rack and mudguard mounting points.
She always mentions how light and nimble it feels compared to her Spectral.

I get the whole pro mouuntain biker/content maker thing and agree that they’ve got to keep sponsors happy. I don’t really think that they’re the problem.

There’s plenty of idiots around spreading the virus who aren’t on YouTube trying to get their sponsors in front of an audience at a time they can’t really undertake the main aspect of their job.

My girlfriend’s sister being one of them!

Fitted a Fox DPX2 to mine, no issues with the piggy back but mine is an XXL.
I’ve tended to run air shocks on my lads bikes as they’re easier to set up and tune as they get bigger and heavier.

    Yamaha RD350LC
    Yamaha RD350 YPVS F2
    Yamaha RD500 YPVs
    Yamaha TZR 250 v-twin
    Honda VTR 1000 SP1
    Husqvarna SMR 570

I’d buy them all again if I had the money.

Gutted when I heard the news.
Remember Craig coming passed on every XC race I entered, fast, fit and great technical skills. Really nice guy as well. I remember he won an early.Scottish downhill on a Pace RC200 I think he raced it at Red Bull hill chasers in Edinburgh about 20 years later.

    Ride free.

Just picked up a Mondeo estste last year, 13 plate 26,000 miles diesel, £7000, full service history etc.
Do a similar mileage to you, business miles tend to A roads and motorways, the rest lugging mountainbikes around. Have a tow bar carrier for 4 bikes if it’s onlt 2 sling them in the back.

Looks smart enough for visiting clients, untilty enough for what I really need.

Thanks, have been for beers a couple of times.

we’ve stayed in a chalet for the last 6 years or so but I’ve had enough of cooking and cleaning so toying with the idea of a hotel because it’s easy.

I work for a software company as an account director, per covid I’d be out seeing clients 2 or 3 days a week and in the office the rest of the time.
I really miss the face to face contact with my clients, teams or zoom isn’t the same.
My partner is a nurse, she’s leaves for work at 7.30, usually home at 6.00 in the evening. I find it quite lonley, during the summer it wasn’t too bad as I’d get out for a ride at lunchtime but during the poor weather I can’t be arsed. I did manage into the office a handful of times when we re-opened it after lockdown, although with all the measures in place we’ve gone from a capacity of 20 to a capacity of 10, the busiest it ever got was 5 in on one day.
I doubt we’ll ever get back to full time in the office.

Generally get fitter, get out more, I was pretty good during lockdown 1 but totally lost my enthusiasm after the summer.
More specific, get over to Chatel with my lads and smash out laps of the bike park with them.
Ride Dyfi, Revs, BPW and generally ride more, Covid permitting.

Have nothing but good stuff to say about Greg, I was pretty seriously ill a few years back so my mate got a message to Peaty and him and Greg sent me a selfie with them holding a hand written get well note. We saw him in Morzine this year and I’ve never seen my girl friend pedal as quick, she asked him for a picture, he was on his way to get some lunch but he stopped and chatted complemented her on her kit. We passed the bar he was in leter and she waved and he waved back. Seems like a genuine decent bloke to he and still fast as ever.

I remember driving our first dog to the vets for the final time he was 14, I was only 17 and hadn’t long passed my test but my mum was so upset she couldn’t drive. That was 33 years ago, still miss him, used to come everywhere with me when I was a kid.
Just remember all the good time and the laughs you had. Feel your pain, don’t let him see you upset, be brave for him, big man hugs.

I have a 2020 Jeffsey 29, 150 rear 160mm front, does just fine in the Alps and the UK, I looked at the Capra but think it’s just too much for UK trail riding, youngest son has a Canyon Spectral 150 mm front and rear, perfect all rounder, my mates on DH bikes couldn’t get near him in the Alps this summer.
I think modern geometry and decent set suspension a medium (150mm) travel bike is more than capable of taking everything you can throw at it.

Live in Norwich, was up in North Norfolk at the weekend, Friday evening in Sheringham was busy but not ridiculous, arrived about 6 and parked the car above the beach. Sunday afternoon headed to Wells/Holkham, ended up at Holkham beach as Wells was busy. A few parking spaces, beach was busy but if you walked for 10 minutes you had plenty of space. Didn’t bother heading into Wells for chips at the end of the day as we knew it’d be crowded.
Hope this helps give you an idea of what it’s like.

Out in Morzine at the moment, everything is open. Drove over, took the tunnel. Usual precautions of mask in service stations and shops. Masks in the lift queue. Mostly a normal summer out here.
Be sensible and it’s no worse than anywhere else in Europe.

I’ve had 2 strokes, first at 45 ah the second two years later to the day.
First time got up feeling strange, rode to work and had to fight to stay upright on the bike, couldn’t write, looked like someone else’s writing, couldn’t type either. My mate gave me a lift home, went to bed thinking a good night’s sleep would sort me out, got up the next morning and felt more confused, when I struggled to eat breakfast my wife called an ambulance. Straight to hospital, was there for 3 days then home, few weeks rest and I was fine, statin, asprins for the rest of my life.
2nd one very similar situation, this time I drove myself to hospital, Scans showed it was the other side of the brain, recovery was much longer, about 3 months, affected me very differently to the first, kind of wiped out my emotions and reinstalled them, I describe it as your phone doing an upgrade, it looks the same but different. Impacted my marriage, ended up splitting up and left me struggling, felt very unemotional about things.
Had a monitor implanted in my chest to keep an eye on things. Transpires I have an irregular heartbeat.
Currently on Pravastatin, Edoxaban and Ezetimibe.
Biggest benefit is that I appear to have found some skill since the second stroke but then if my Brian’s had an upgrade what can you expect.

Make a cheese sandwich with whatever filling takes your fancy, crack 2 eggs into a dish a whisk loosely with a fork, dip sandwich in egg, fry in pan until golden, serve with brown sauce. What we used to call cheesy dreams.
