Not a hack as such but I walk to work a few days a week. My wife works 2 miles away from my office, I get a lift with her, then walk the 2 miles into work, at the end of the day I walk the 2 miles back. So typically I’ll do that 3 days a week, over time it’s made a real difference to me. Bot physically and mentally. I’ve lost over 2 stone and feel so much better having time to get prepared for work on the way in and decompress on the way back.

One of my work mates has started doing something similar, he just parks a couple of miles away from the office now and walks in. He’s beginning to see the benefits as well, shedding weight and being less stressed when he arrives in the mornings.

I moved to Bennetts last year, I always shop around.

Worked for years in insurance, you just need to find out who’s ‘buying’ new customers. Using MCN Compare and other comparison site is usually the best bet.

I binned mine off and got new windows from Camper Glass. Original one leaked constantly.

Thorns in Norwich, possibly my favourite shop.

Long gone now but Fraser & McColl in Inverness, even worked there when I was at school. Happy days, measuring out nails by the pound.

I think I still have an account. Stopped using it about 8 years ago. I didn’t like the way it was becoming a social media platform rather than a mapping and recording tool.

I’ve gone years without using anything but I’m looking at OS maps or Ride with GPS for route planning now. Going on a European tour for a couple of weeks this summer so interested in using something to plan our days.

Just a brief update, I’ve ended up with a pair of Showers Pass XC shorts. After a couple of rides I’d say that they are very well made, extremely comfortable and I’m impressed.
I’ve been wearing them over my bibs, they have a silicone gripper at the rear of the waistband and seem to stay put.
    I’d recommend them.

Thanks chaps, will give them a look, never had Specialized shorts before and never considered Fat Lad at the Back.
It’s a shame Endura don’t do bigger sizes it their gravel line, I love their MTB stuff.

Saw Mogwai & Brainiac on Saturday night, absolutely stupendous. Recently started going to smaller venues to see more new music, saw Oliver Beardmore supporting Swim School, both were excellent, I think the chance is seeing Swim School in a venue that small again is pretty slim, destined for bigger thing I reckon.
    Got the Lathums next month.

Just got a Sonder Camino Ti on ride to work. Quick enough on the road, seems very surefooted off road, looking forward to some longer gravel/off road adventures in the summer.
I got down to the choice of 2 the Sonder or a Lines, Sonder won as it’s ti.

Another test is to undo the chinstrap, shake your head from sinde to side and front to back.
The helmet should move with your head, not around it.

Died doing something he enjoyed, better than wasting away in some nursing home I guess.
Very talented guy, his driving was amazing.

Both my lads had 50cc mopeds and geared bike, taught them about riding on the road and riding in traffic, the eldest went on to a 125 and them passed his test, he’s just sold his Husquvarna 300.

They both learned to ride off road, where they could be as reckless as they liked, I think that helped with their approach on the road. They weren’t racing about taking risks (or at least from what I saw)

Personal opinion is that it made both of them a better car driver, passing their tests first time and also alot more aware of cyclists and motor bikes.

The big question is would you rather him on a moped or a push bike?

I rode bikes from an early age and had a 125 at 17, didn’t want a moped or a 50 though. Riden and raced bikes all my life, lost some good friends on and off the track.
Tough decision, only you can make.

The Fairlight looks lovely but when I start specing it up it gets a bit pricey.

    I’ll keep looking around.

Current favourites are the Camino and the Tripster AT

I’ll probably do a fair bit off road, lot’s of tracks and trails round this way, nothing to challenging in Norfolk.

Did look at the Ribbles but I’m not a fan of carbon.

Mrs M has a Lapierre Crosshill with the ebikemotion hub drive. She loves it, rides it to work, rides 40 – 60 mile routes at the weekend, mostly on back roads and gravel type stuff. It allows her to keep up with me and the others we ride with on the hilly sections.
I was a bit sceptical when she went to look at getting one but have to say I’m impressed with it. It allows her to get out and enjoy the ride as opposed to suffering and hating us for riding away at the front.

Another shout for Shed Seven, always a good gig, always smiling after seeing them.
The Lottery Winners are entertaining as well well.
Teenage Fanclub are very good live.

    The Charlatans, great live band.

    Obviously seek professional advice.

When I got divorced I kept my pension and my ex wife got the equivalent in equity of the marital home. Ours was a fairly amicable divorce.

That suited her better at the time, she was free to take the cash from the property once sold.

I could use some advice, my lovely girlfriend bought me Tamiya Escort MK2 for Christmas. The build has commenced but she didn’t buy a controller etc. as she didn’t know what I wanted. So I’ve taken a look but I’m unsure what the best options are, any advice or recommendations gratefully received. Cheers.

Get the front end lower by Letting the air out your forks, that should give you enough clearance.
