It’s worth a ride round derwent water as well, if you’re both into running the paths round derwent water are great too.

How about a single duvet and a cotton sleeping bag liner in a stuff sac?

Another join for the Strava run group 😀 on as Lee H 😀
Doing mostly trails as I find it’s easier on the body and is more interesting! Doing red Jan on Strava, run every day, and doing really well imo lol!
I’m another big fan of sal speed X
Well done folks and keep digging deep 😀

I’ve also got the eco drive citizen with 3 spare NATO’s and a leather strap. It’s got the bond one on at the moment 😀

I’ve also used the cut off bits stitched onto my overalls so if I kneel down when it’s wet my knees keep dry 🙂

Another +1 for the ex army stuff. Why would you not at that price? Pack down really small and light as well. If you so desire get some iron on reflective tape for dark rides

I’m gonna have a sniff round to see if I’m owed anything as well, seems dead easy! I’m also going to try and claim for my dad who passed away last December, apparently any money owed is part of the estate and can be claimed so if anyone is in the same situation it might be worth looking into it.

Great points, deffo get it painted white, good floor paint down and some led lights and then it’s a perfect blank canvas to then do what you like. Keep an eye out for deals on halfords tool boxes

Just chuck up a wall, if anybody kicks off officially just take it down. I for one wouldn’t be dipping a toe in building regs just for a stud wall in my garage. Not as if you’re changing the use of it into a flat etc.

Tbh they could do with causing a few “accidents” to some of the unsavoury characters in this country who hate us and make no secret about it while taking our money and inciting others to kill.

We’d like a new bathroom and a couple of carpets, sex pond is getting filled in as it’s at the end of the garden so is a bit of a trek

Haha! A lot of it is grassed anyway even with the 210m2 paved

Sorry, a bit confusing, a 210m2 “parking area” and chippings for the drive bit to get to it

Well he`s decide to sofa surf part week at his girlfriends house and his grandparents place. Apparantly for 18 months to 2 years while he saves for a house! I wish him good luck 😀

I did think about the spots casting shadows, the strip lights look a good idea. Not sure if the panels will fit, I don’t even have the house yet

Zulu straps are excellent. I got a classic bond and bright orange strap for my citizen. Worth the cash

Remortgage? I’ve just lumbered myself with £130k mortgage, I’m not getting any more! As for a £10k bung, I’ve work to do on the new house so that’s out of the window as well! And 3 other kids to look after. Sadly I’m not a bottomless pit of money 🙁

Well it’s surprising that someone mentioned it but there is a 16 plate Ibiza fr sitting outside that he is indeed paying a couple of hundred quid a month for. I got my first new car when I was 44!

Still some great points of view!
He has been shown what it costs to run a house so is fully aware. The meeting last night went well. His attitude of assuming he could be kept while paying a minimal amount still was blown away. He was trying all ways to minimise the amount by suggesting he stayed in our house x amount of days per week but I told him it’s not a pay as you go arrangement.
We’re not trying to force him out but at the same time we’re not subsidising a working adult with means to support himself. He’s never been to uni so costs of living and budgeting have never been an issue for him.
The biggest issue is that we’ve 3 other dependants to financially care for as well.
    Times are a changing

We’re lucky in our area that a 4 bed terrace with a garden can be had for £110k so with a wage of nearly £2k a month it’s affordable

No confrontation with the son. Partner agrees that he should pay his way. He argued why should he pay to live with his mother. Sadly he has no idea that freeloading for the foreseeable future is unacceptable. He said he’s moving out so his mother said fine, crack on. He’ll be begging to move in with us when he sees what a great deal he’s getting

It’s broken down as £30per week lodge and the rest as a 3rd of the bills. So when he’s swanning round with all the lights on, troughing thru the food and spending half an hour in the shower that’s what he’s paying for 🙂 not unreasonable for living in a £270k house imo

Gonna suggest to him putting the difference away between moving out and paying lodge here so he saves lots and is used to budgeting that amount every month.

    Some great points there folks.
Also gf has a 15yo girl and 21yo son who is at uni. I also have a 13yo girl that doesn’t live with us full time so there isn’t only the 3 of us needing looked after. We’ve looked into how much it would cost for him to rent or buy a 2 bed terrace and with everything included, no furniture tho, and it’s at least double what I am suggesting. Easily affordable for him, less than half his wages when he stops wasting it all like he does at the moment. We’re having a chat about it tonight together!

If you`re that bothered get a tubeless repair kit and repair the tyre, I had to repair 4 holes in mine before I made it tubeless, no problems so far

My daughter used to be terrible for getting her hand on door frames when she was about 2. I had her in the car seat behind the passenger one day. Strapped her in and shut the door, a BMW 5 series so no lightweight, wandered round to the drivers side and as I opened the door all I could hear at the top of her lungs was WHAAAAAAAAAA! she`d reached up as I shut the door and had all 5 fingers trapped between the big door seal and the car! 😀 no damage tho 😀
Stepdaughter once did the pointing at me and using two fingers to point at her eyes, I’m watching you type thing. And with a serious face while doing it poked herself in both eyes 😀 oh how I laughed 😀

I went to see it at the cinema when it came out. The local branch of the NVA, normandy veterans association was in the foyer with a collection. They will have made some pile of cash while that was being shown!

Read born to run by Christopher McDougall and feel inadequate 😀 It`s quite a good book that goes into some of the biomechanics of running.

I wear New Balance Leadville trail shoes on the road as I found my road shoes were not doing me good 🙁

I tried one on at the Keswick mountain festival, it fit really well, I struggle with arm length being long enough. Top quality shirts but couldn’t pull the trigger on £300+ although tbh I could see me wearing it a hell of a lot. My mind could be changed 😉

I`ve had a couple of saloons, e39 530i and a 850 T5, and found them a PITA, unless you get one that the back window lifts like a Octavia saloon the opening with just a boot lid is useless.
