You won`t need to replace the disc the surface will come back to normal after a few muddy rides or brakes
same goes for the pads too!!

i`ve never ever cleaned a rotor either!
aerosol disk brake cleaner from the local car spares place IS the stuff to use,
but don't do it unless the disc is contaminated with chain lube etc

having gone through 3 phones in 3 months
it was time to change and get a water/dust/shock proof one
