Just had a roller door fitted after losing both bikes to theft, its much more secure ( although nothings totally secure) but the biggest surprise was the extra storage due to not needing space for the up n over to move.
    £900 quid fitted

We never had any intention of staying in what I viewed as our “starter home”
But then we are now months away from paying off our mortgage, so sod that we’re staying here for life.
Totally different circumstances to you as we have no kids. If I had any sage advice to give it would be this, if you don’t move now you probably never will, I can’t say with hand on my heart that Im overjoyed living here, but i am happy with the increasing level of spending money and holidays.

Might have a look over the weekend. I’ve ridden something by there a year or so ago, but not sure if it’s the same trail now

Paint a small area with emulsion. Leave to dry thoroughly. Try scratching off the emulsion with fingernail or stick sellotape over and yank it off. If emulsion stays stuck then the walls were painted with water based.

What sort of paint? If it’s gloss or oil eggshell then sand to provide a key, use a ready mixed paste. If it’s water based then normal paste is fine.

Anaglypta wallrock thermal lining paper. I’ve not used it but I’m hoping a customer will want it soon. Gotta be better than that awful warmelene stuff.

One tip, whatever editing software you use dont try to do it all in one go, adding a thousand pics at a time will only end in tears. Do it in smaller chunks, render several videos then stich em together again.

Unless of course you have a real beast of a machine :D

It does seem that facebook pressure does work in these cases, pal of mine had his returned recently after it was stolen. Wish it was the same for bikes :-(

Did it last weekend, the new bits don’t spoil any of it’s charm. One of the most scenic man made trails around with a wicked sting in the tail for anyone who treats it like the new breed of trails around these days.

Done some fab stuff around Morzine etc, but if im quite honest it was a recent ride around the Black mountains. We did the killer loop ( Crickhowell-hermitage- y das- Gwyn Fawr) which was just sublime and a real change from our usual 50k fod stuff. Great autumn weather and unusual trail conditions helped.

Alot of good satins, farrow and ball little green, and again the new Dulux qd trim. Satins easy, gloss less so

Dulux have a new product called “Quick dry trim”, best water based gloss so far. All oil based paints will yellow over time.
Make sure you buy the new paint as Dulux do two other inferior versions

Along with jonny rocky mountain I’m loving my Am classic wide lightening. So much in fact that I may have difficulty in the future buying wheels with narrower rims. Tyre choice is an issue, for instance I did not like rubber queens on wide rims, but maxxis are perfect.

Edit. That’s interesting scruff, maybe conti tyres are too soft for low pressure on wide rims, as I felt exactly the same.

Never spend too long explaining to the BT guy whos testing the sockets in yer bedroom (not a euphemism) that your muscle massage stick behind the bedside cabinet is not in fact a sex toy.

other sex toy/massage sticks are available..

They work brilliantly but, mine didn’t last long due to it being too brittle. It cracked in under four months, not good enough for £40

We used to use oil based eggshell on walls years back, smelly job but durable. These days there’s more water based alternatives so no need to really.
I would use Dulux soft sheen or the more expensive water based eggshell. Another harder wearing alternative is normal emulsion followed by two coats of polyvine decorators varnish (matt or satin). Please note that the varnish while as clear as is possible will still slightly darken the finish.

I struggle to read anything that isn’t non fiction these days. But i love audiobooks at work, and they’re 90 percent sci fi. Hyperion was excellent, so good it left me hollow once finished in the way that good books do. Speaking of hollow, theres a book called Hollow world thats also worth seeking out.

If you’re going to change product now, get some osmo oil wax, it comes in colours and will be easier to apply with skirting in situ

Had one last year that had me seething, especially as i had and always do, slow down, made plenty of noise, ridden past with plenty of room. but despite all this the waspy old bi*** testily told me to get a damn bell…on a cyclepath. I felt like a child being scolded by an adult and almost went back, which wouldn’t of ended well as i always lose my cool and result to swearing. Im rubbish at arguing my point :-(

No don’t just paint it, well yes do but..:-

Wash it with sugarsoap (its bound to be dirty)

Paint with a problem solving primer (Blackfriars or Zinnser bullseye 123 plus)

Then you can paint it with whatever (emulsion rather than oil based would be my choice)

If you just throw paint at it you may suffer in the future, or not, but it’s not worth the risk.
