Its not so bad where I am, but on the other hand the roads are so bad it’s hard to tell where the road ends and the verge starts

Landescape will do frame only but they’re not cheap, very good though

Definitly give JD Tandems a call, nice helpful folks.

    This is lovely.. https://salsacycles.com/bikes/powderkeg/2016_powderkeg

And oh my god so are these   http://www.ventanausa.com/bikes/

Neither of which are any help if you are on a tight budget, be careful, we were on a tight budget and then spent close to 4.5K :-)  Very happy with the end product though

Craig Alansons Expeditionary force books if you like a bit of the lighter side of sci fi

Ben Aranovitch if you want to read something that just has to be televised soon, just brilliant.

    Or this stuff

Turns any matt emulsion into a very washable surface. The dead flat still has a slight sheen viewed from an angle

Dont forget Osmo oil, yes it might need doing more often but its a shedload easier with minimum prep, and they do a uv protection version.
However you need to ask about compatibility with the residence 9 stuff

ianfitz: thats what I expected from my wife, i got the exact opposite. It took me longer to pick my jaw up from the floor that it took her to say I want one

Elshalimo: No idea how heavy, but it’s alot lighter than the “shopping” tandems we hired before we bought one :D Definitely not as heavy as two solo bikes though.

Mythic paints are highly rated by some in the trade, very odourless as i recall.

Also 120/180 grit flexible sanding pads are very helpful. Not the blocks, the flat foam backed ones

Im still a little underwhelmed by water based gloss, eggshells are now excellent though. Look up bedec, its british and good.
BUT, never trust claims about sticking to all surfaces though as you might get caught out, dulux supergrip or zinserr coverstain are your best options for a primer.

Recently went on holiday to Exmoor, we had the tick treatment for the dogs but forgot to use it beforehand so we applied it when we got home. Basically it kills the ticks after they attach themselves to the dogs and they fall out. We found out the hard way that dead ticks are far more preferable when small and empty rather than full of blood. We found them on the stair carpet, on the furniture, on the bed……yeuch
I can’t think of ticks and not remember that bit in Stephen Kings IT (the book not film), the bit with the fridge at the dump, oh dear.

Just a word of warning, not all mp3 players work with audible. There may be a workaround now but sony players used to be no use at all.

Ive done 2.8 maxxis on 35 mm rims no problem, managed to squeeze in a mudguard too. It did gather mud in very gloopy conditions though, and i do mean Very gloopy. Most of the time its fine

You can get stained wax, colour and finish in one, and it wont take hours to dry like oil will. Any diy merchant.
Nothings more hipster than wire wool in vinegar though, unless you have to buy the wire wool and vinegar and wax, in which case whats the point

Oh and look up gilding wax too, ooooh shiny

Zinsser All coat exterior, very good but theres no high gloss finish. Now comes in a solvent version which is good for the UKs dodgy weather, dries almost as fast as waterbased. Rustoleum also do a similar as do Sadolin now, possibly all the same recipe. One tin systems, no seperate primer or undercoat, its the way forward.

I would also avoid wallpaper. Look up zinsser permanent white, it’s mould resistant, but white…
If the walls are in a bad way and you have to wallpaper then look up anaglypta armadillo, it’s expensive but tough as hell. It does need painting over though.

Forgot, the zinsser perma white is tintable so you can get colours from some retailers

Cheap contract emulsions like the above screwfix product have caused me more problems than i care to mention.

Not picking fights here but 30+ years of experience have made me hate them , especially in bathrooms and en-suites.

For example, with Dulux Supermatt which is a more expensive version you can almost cover bare plaster in one coat with a good roller, which is what many disreputable contract painters do. A few years down the line subsequent coatings will gleefully come away from the wall in sheets, especially if you’ve wallpapered over them.

Iv’e never used pva, many sources of info say that you shouldn’t do it so ive always used thinned emulsion. Its a pointless step that can cause problems so why bother.

If you really want to seal bare plaster then Zinsser Gardz (very good but overkill in your situation) or Beeline primer sealer is better.
The reason given for avoiding pva is that its reversible, which means it never sets completely, which means damp conditions will make it sticky again.

TLDR : Just thin the emulsion first coat

Not using an undercoat with solvent based paints means it may not stick. It may seem okay, but the next time you come to paint it comes away in sheets when you get sand paper anywhere near it, this also counts for the so called one coat gloss such as Crown solo and Dulux Once.
IF you steadfastly flat the old gloss down using a wet sanding method, or use a de-glosser then you may get away with it, but the time taken is probably greater than undercoating anyway.

Eggshell paints are different (solvent) you can with some of them paint straight over old gloss after light sanding and washing down with sugarsoap. But even this is dodgy practice these days as the manufacturers are forced to meet new criteria.

Not using an undercoat could lead you to a world of misery in the future.

I can’t be persuaded that any paint could possibly let moisture out, and yet magically stop water getting in. The whole point of painting render is to keep it waterproof isn’t it.

As stated above if damp is getting in via the render then there either a cavity bridging issue or gutter problems. Whats the contruction, how olds the house? Is there a cavity in the walls?

On a modernish property just go with weathershied and forget about breatheable :-)

For me it all depends on the amount of detail in the surface that needs painting. You can now achieve a good gloss if you’re painting fairly flat straightforward surfaces. Things like staircase spindles less so.

Anyhow that aside, THE best option recently is the new Dulux quick dry trim.
    this[/url]
Make sure you don’t just get the old stuff that will still be on the shelves in diy centres, that stuffs rubbish.
    It will require two topcoats

Link failed, just use the drop down product menu and head to waterbased
