There’s a few manoeuvres that are supposed to help reset the inner ear. One involved lying down and getting vertical quite quickly which was recommended to my wife by the doctor. I can’t remember the name of it but googling vertigo cure manoeuvres will get you there

A small packet of grout would cost very little,or small tub of tile adhesive and grout combined. Can’t quite see how you would be ok with tape and yet a bit of poorly applied silicone would upset you :-)
As long as you let it properly dry then decorators caulk would probably last a few weeks

Only advice I can offer is choose the option to pick up from your house rather than use a pickup point. Despite being advertised as a pickup point most places I’ve attempted to use are usually pretty pissed off if you turn up with anything bigger than a shoebox. I used parcel force.

    Oh, and vertigo.

Yup, I put it down to my body fighting the allergy, or something like that, I’m no doctor 😂
It used to affect me so badly I would fall asleep regularly in the afternoon, bloody awful.

Had open surgery ( surgeon prefers it as success rate is higher), yeah 3k is the going rate.
It took weeks to get over it (5 weeks off work) but was entirely successful.
Plan ahead for constipation after surgery, by far the worst bit of the whole process…ooof.

Any of the water based varnishes are fine, polyvine sell a dead flat decorators varnish which I’ve used before many times

You can happily do a light sand after using osmo, works well in my experience

If you want a similar opaque finish and an easier solution, you could just sand off the flaky bits and not worry about the parts that have stuck well. Then paint with Treatex classic colour. It’s a very oily product that covers and sticks to existing finishes. On their website, under customer photos you’ll find Wharton Lodge, that garage had the same issues.

Great bikes, in an ideal world I’d have one to go with my Mega. I sold mine to fund an operation and regret it.

I guess there’s a production team to pay as well. Sometimes you can buy the e-book then add on audio narration afterwards for less than just buying the audio. I pay an audible sub, I can’t see me stopping anytime soon as I love them. Currently on the latest Rivers of London book…

Look at Treatex classic colour. It’s like cuprinol garden shades but oil based. Very good stuff but you’ll need two coats, the other downside is the small tin size but it’s still worth it.

I’ve tried a few options in the past,I really couldn’t get on with any of the tubed stuff, just couldn’t get a good finish. In the end I favoured the Toupret mastic putty, very much the old school linseed oil style only.. drier. Lovely to use, dries a little quicker and accepts water based paint.

Ex painter and decorator here. You’d be amazed how many people don’t. In the end it did me a favour as I stopped giving prices for work for my regulars as even they would rather I moved stuff. I remember one day in particular when my father and I turned up to do a bedroom for one lady (30s ,well spoken in a decent job) all her dirty clothes were still strewn about, even used underwear with stained panty liners still attached. No words were spoken,we just walked out.

Most of my suggestions are already said above. We always stay at Stackpole so Bosherston etc are always high on our list. So I’ll help with something else. West angle bay has a great café as does it’s partner at Lawrenny( nice estuary walk from here too)
The town of Narberth inland is very pleasant on a rest/rainy day, lot’s of excellent places to eat along with antiques and gift shops.

We had a dwarf wall, upvc windows, twin wall polycarbonate roof,it was awful. We replaced one wall with a timber clad frame, the roof with a well insulated fibre resin version with a vented velux. It worked a treat and we can now use it in even the hottest weather.

My Etsy recommendations are so nerdy I’m going to search for more porn to make myself seem more interesting. All I get is plastic printed counter covers for board games and painted furniture

The trouble with cheap emulsion is the very act of applying the second coat can scrub off the first. Cuprinol garden shades or similar will do it.

I really like Bitgym. Video tours in places I’ll never go. MTB trails as well as road. Some of it is structured training and some just video. I’m currently gobsmacked by how it can tell you your rpm using the forward facing camera

Could someone enlighten me, the bit where he dragged a wide bristled brush to raise the grain.. How is that actually achieved in reality?

Arriving tomorrow is Ticket to ride anniversary edition. I’m sure many here have already played it but I’ll let you know my impression

That’s a lot more complicated than our conservatory but..

We firstly had ours tiled by a friend which was a BIG mistake due to the pitch. Several leaky years later we had the tiles removed and re-done with resin. Basically he laid boards down then a mesh and a grey resin (very stinky but soon goes) is painted on. We are blessed with more windows than you but still had a velux put in and its brilliant in both summer and winter.

I have no idea of the planning regs but if that were mine I’d be looking into some fairly deep rafters with a fiberglass roof, a bit of carpentry wizardry could incorporate a dome roof light ( they come with vents which are great when its really hot. Deep rafters would allow space for great insulation, you could leave the bottom of them exposed for some extra interest and plasterboard in between.

Just one thing though, in the unlikely event that you go with my suggestion if I find out that you’ve picked out the exposed rafters in black there will be trouble :-)

Oh and look up Treatex oils, the Hardwax oils will achieve a better shine

    bigh
    Free Member

Sorry I’ve read your post properly now. The shine only comes from repeated oiling and buffing. If the original finish is ultra glossy then maybe it had a varnish / lacquer, in which case you’ll need to sand it all. How easy did the original finish sand off?

I have done several in the past using a mirka sander attached to my budget extractor (Henry hoover). Works well using 120 grit abranet discs. If you are lucky you won’t need to do too much to the good areas

The Reactor is an awesome bike, must admit I’ve sold mine (potentially) as i wanted more travel for trips to Spain next year so i now have the less playful Mega. I would have kept both but needed the cash for a bloody hernia op. Go for the reactor….

Obviously a bit cheesy/touristy but if you do head to symonds yat, make the effort to see the viewpoint at yat rock. If you go to the saracens head pub I’d seriously avoid driving to it, utter bedlam on a weekend. There’s steps from behind the pub that go right up to yat rock.

Borderlands, two is universally agreed to be the best, three is also good.

Its like a shooter with rpg character building elements.

The Tom clancy Ghost recon stuff is also fun.

( Must learn to search before starting a thread )
The wife and I currently have:-

Wingspan. Our favourite, Great artwork and fun to play, definitely gets better the more you play it, might be a bit dry for the younger generation.

Everdell. A bit more complicated than the above but with similar elements of gathering materials and card placement. Would be fun with more than two people

Sherlock Holmes consulting detective. We really love this, cooperative play, a bit unfair at times until you get to know the game. We will definitely be getting the two further games.

On order for my birthday is Mansions of madness, another co-op game with a horror theme and an app to help setup.
We haven’t gone full RPG yet but we did briefly eye up Gloomhaven, but the £100 price tag put us off, also I see there’s a new version of Descent on the horizon that will now utilize an app, £135….ouch

It’s probably already on this thread but Pandemic is consistently in the top 10 lists, the wife refuses to even consider it though, can’t blame her

    Professional here.

Pva is not recommended, alot of people will say but i’ve never had a problem which is fine, but why take the risk.
There are alot of emulsions labelled contract which are nice and cheap and cover alarmingly well, they are very soft and you can easily wipe them off with a damp sponge when dry, they were developed as a cheap breathable paint to let any dampness come through on new builds. They are ok UNTIL someone decided to wallpaper on top of them, then they can cause issues.

Plaster primers are good, but, you may as well use one tin right? Furthermore if you are painting the walls in a strongish colour you will be adding another coat to the job

Dulux vinyl matt, first coat thinned well. Followed by two (probably) further coats.
