I overdo it, almost to the point of completely crossing the lines as if it were a car I was overtaking. I hate riding on the road, our few have factored in two fairly hefty hills on the journey to our local trails just to avoid the main road

I absolutely love my Cotic Solaris, not sure about full suss 29ers though. I normally ride an Alpine 160 but it may be some time before that comes out again. Its just different, huge fun on long distance rides, I was sooo close to buying a fs version but thank god I didn’t.

What concerns me a little about this whole thing is newcomers to the sport not getting enough help to make an informed decision at time of purchase. I recently guided three adults who were fairly new to mtbs around the Fod and all of them had carbon specialized 29ers just because they were told they roll faster etc etc. And i can’t help feeling that’s what the shop wanted to sell them just because they were the latest thang.
Oh, and one of the frames snapped :-( not that it means anything.

Lawnmower has changed, first half is not great, second half is as good as ever was. Dr johns is fine but will be a mudfest on the first bit…as usual.

All depends on a code found on the hub, which of course you wont know until you buy them or ask the seller. I think the general rule is 2011 no, 2012 yes.

Easy, i spend a few minutes every day I go to my local (FoD) talking to the 60-70 year olds still riding bikes. I want to be like that, also would probably be 16 stone and smoking if it wasnt for my two wheeled addiction

Not fair game. Had an interesting chat with a wildlfe ranger with tracker dog who had been employed to look for signs of people going out at night and killing them with crossbows and other silent methods. He was not a popular chap, had several attacks against his person and car, and many written threats to poison/burn/decapitate his dog, nice!

Stretching cures it for me every time, just the simple holding ankle. pulling foot to bum and straightening back. Seems having stiff legs pulls me out of alignment blah blah. Also try some core work, even simple glute bridge exercises might cure it.

Yes you should, but what you should not do is lose the abilty to ride in flats when you want to.
Personally I wish I had learned to bunnyhop, manual, and wheelie before using clips.

Well as of today its gotten worse, but if there’s no rain tomorrow it will improve (am i being a tad obvious?)
Whats even more depressing is a few days ago there was real DUST on the trails :-(

Or you could do what we did, ride the course with a bunch of mates instead of doing the actual race, yes its a cop-out but bloody hilarious just the same.

    MTFU …no sod that.
Try WGAF instead (who gives a ****)

You are , or were, out getting massive exercise and enjoying yourself. Forget the drops and gnarly bits and concentrate on the bits that give you the high, the rest might follow anyway.
