If you have BT Sport, access to discovery+ should be free, at least until 23 July (when BT Sport is subsumed into TNT; don’t know after that).

as TNT is part of the discovery group i wouldn’t think anything will change for BT sport subscribers, i’m less sure about what will happen for sky subscribers(me) in the future particually when eurosport merges with TNT at some time in the future

that setup is the same as my rallon, orbea actually state in the manual to put loctite(think it’s the 638) on the splines, would have thought they would say the same for the rise as it looks the same setup.

    Protecta Board™ (Correx) Protection Sheet

this is a better option than rolls of carpet/floor protecter if its more than just a quick job, should be able to get it from builders merchants. used a load of it recently to cover up floors i’d just tiled when it was still a messy building site outside with loads of other trades coming and going and it held up well.

@superfli it shouldn’t be that much, seen plenty of qoutes of people saying ford dealers are saying about £1200, mate had his done not long ago at his usual garage and i think it was about £8/900. ford recalled his for a belt inspection and said it was fine but as he was on 80k he got it changed anyway.
mine isn’t on the recall list even though it’s only about 8 months younger and as its on 76k it’s going to get done soon, problem is the parts aren’t available at the moment, ford won’t supply the belt cover at the moment and i’m not sure about using non genuine parts for something like this(and don’t think mmy mechanic would want to fit them)

@molgrips a decent blade makes a big differance to how tidy they cut, ones i use are about £50.

takes to long to do the straight cuts with a grinder though, just had to buy one of these https://www.protilertools.co.uk/product/montolit-131p5-masterpiuma-p5-power-5-manual-tile-cutter-131cm
as i’d had enough of having to cut anything over 800mm with the angle grinder and the wet saw struggles with anything over 800 also.
just doing a one of job though angle grinder is the only cutter you need.

nothing was a dangerous to use as the old 240v 12″ stone saw i had to use at work about 30 years ago, **** thing was lethal. everyone was happy when it got chucked in a skip and replaced with a petrol one by the boss.

my 18v makita cordless is only really used for drilling holes in hard tiles, much more controlable and quicker than doing them with a drill, battery life is ok doing that but when my corderd grinder brushes went i had to use the cordless for cutting for the rest of the day, it soon eats through 4/5ah batteries.

wifesbeen commenting her g7 battery is now not getting her the day without a charge.

i’ve just replaced my g8 plus, battery life on that was getting worse and it was getting very unresponsive and freezing all the time. looked at other makes but like motorola for the near stock android so when i saw currys where doing the edge 30 for £200 got one of them.

before i saw the edge 30 did look at a poco but wasn’t sure on there version of android, apparntly it’s a very love/hate thing

( custom dipped beam are really bad)

Not my experience. Driven early and late ones.

it’s my experiance and the same as a lot of people i know who drive customs both pre and post facelift and also the custom websites are full of people complaining about how bad they are which is why so many now are running led’s.

    bigfoot

i know they should fail but my tester will pass them and on the transit sites plenty are using them ( custom dipped beam are really bad) and most have had no problem mot time although there has been some fails.

only reason they’re illegal is they have never been approved for use and have no e markings(and the cheap ones are shit).
i did read recently some led bulbs are close to being approved for use in germany, i’m guessing they are going for germany first as they are pretty strict there, if that happens i would think it would follow in other countries.

If you bought LED H4 bulbs then two things will happen:
Beam pattern will be all over and

not if you fit good quality ones, mine are h7 and my mate said they are spot on when he checked them on his MOT equipment the other day when it was in for a tyre, the h4’s in my wifes mini are spot on as well.

They’ll fail the next MoT because LED headlamp bulbs (not LED units) are an automatic fail

depends on the tester, if the patten is ok a lot are happy to pass them.

we tried uprated halagens in the mini but my wife still struggled at night to the point she wouldn’t drive, with the led’s she has no problem.

nobodys ever flashed her with them fitted which is also my experiance in the van and when she’s been driving behind me they look no differant to any other car with factory led’s. ours are both good quality ones, about £80/£90 a pair, i have heard cheap ones are not good for beam pattern and error codes.

    @robertajobb

    Can you elaborate on the

“… but I’ve got a 2.0 euro6 Ford diesel engine with a wet belt so have bigger things to worry about than dirtying up the engine internals”…

    I’m a relatively new owner of a 2 litre diesel Ford Duratorq engine that is Euro6 (2017 / 2018).

What do I have in store that isn’t influenced by the kind of diesel I pour into the tank ?

2.0 transits from 17 on have a wet cambelt(its in the oil) and some(quite a few) have been delaminating and snapping, there is a recall for an inspection of the belt on 17 plate vans and ford will change the belt if any signs of delamination, if the belt snaps ford say they will replace the engine as long as it’s up to date on servicing, some people have had it done but others say ford wouldn’t.
my mates had an inspection a couple of weeks ago and ford said it was fine, a mates of his done about the same time had the belt replaced. my 67 plate has no recall but guessing they’ll move onto 67 plates when they get through the 17’s.
if you read on facebook and forums it sounds very common but when you think about how many transits are out there it’s probably not that high a percentage.
it’s meant to be caused by failed regens diluting the oil with diesel which breaks the belt down so could be worsened depending on what sort of driving you do and also by not doing enough oil changes, think ford say 25k but mine gets done every year which is about 15k.

ran my old integra type R pretty much only on v power but that was only as it was mapped for 98 from the factory.
havent got a clue if it improved mpg but could tell the differance performance wise.

never used it in anything else, not even my track car, power to weight in that was so good just got it mapped on standard fuel as didn’t think the small gains where worth it.

haven’t booked it yet but phoned for a price last week and a transit custom with 2 passengers was £327 return, don’t get the online discount for vans as you have to phone to book a van on.

booked a holiday cottage for 6 nights and taking the wife with me to make the most of the ferry costs, i’m sure she’ll find something to do when i’m on the bike, not going to get that much practice in though.

@mark88 no, never done it before but as there’s still no news on the scottish series a few of us decided to book it at the weekend.

i’ve got the metabo one you mention, it’s ok for me doing jobs at home but it’s a struggle to get the cuts perfect. probably as good as you’ll get for the money though.

bigger definatly not better though, my brother got a really big one last year, only used it a few times and sold it to get a smaller one(although it still looks big compared to mine). said it was to much hassle to set up, get on to jobs etc.

all 3 tweedlove races, pmba at ae, isle of man, ard rock and the naughty northumbrian booked so far.

will do the pmba at graythwaite if it goes ahead as it’s only about 5 miles from me. was also hoping to do some scottish enduro rounds but nothing announced yet, is it even going to happen this year?

definatly liking the sound of that kinlochleven one, adding a bit of variaty to the tweedlove races. think it was scottish enduro that did a race there a few years ago that looked good.

Yeah, there’s definitely a heirarchy! TBH though with track use it’s not so much trailering it there, it’s being able to trailer it back, it’s only a matter of time til something goes wrong…

Trailer’s more a sign of space than anything else though, wish I had room for one. And a car that can legally tow, that’d be useful

there’s also the fact that after a day driving flat out round cadwell(just about the furthest track i went to reguarly) the last thing you want is to be driving a 7 style car 4 hours home espeicially if it’s wet.
van and trailer gives you somewhere to sleep the night before and to put all your gear, spare fuel.

i had a sylva striker which i bought not knowing much about them and after a year ended up stripping it down to a bair chassis and rebuilding it how i wanted. started of with a 130bnp fireblade engine and ended up with a 170bhp R1 engine which at just over 450kg made it pretty quick, 60 in about 4 seconds and on some tracks it actually managed 125mph on the datalogger.
could keep up with a well driven caterham R400 on lap times although lost out down the straights once it got close to 100, just had to make it up on the brakes and corners.
it ended up a track only car as once it was propally set up for track use it made it not a nice car to drive on the road.

sold it to a bloke from holland about 4 years ago for about 5k, it did need quite a bit of tidying up work doing to it.

90mm kingspan between the joists made a massive differance in our house. had to take up the floorboards to fit it though but needed to to get the UFH pipes and bisciut screed in(that was why i used 90mm as needed to leave 25/30mm for pipes and screed.
UFH isn’t connected up yet but last winter the room was much warmer/retained the heat from the log burner much better.

the fact they have any camping at all is an improvement over previous events( apart from the one year the whole event was based in a field near inners).
for the inners based events we always stay in the DH carpark but it always has been a hassle to get somewhere parked for the weekend at the peebles based ones thats in walking distance of the town.

not going to bother this year. overall i enjoyed it but the seeding stages weren’t up to much and don’t think much of blue doon. would be much better if they used top cheif after the snow( not ridden it but it looks much better)

the time i did it at glencoe was better.

going up past levers water to wetherlam is a good route, descent off wetherlam is a bit grassy but there is enough rock and a steep section to make it good and then it finishes with the good rocky descent to the coppermines road.

also been up dow crag from the walna sacar road and descended down past goats water once, didn’t ride it all and thought i was going to die a couple of times when i was riding, not done it since.

had been impressed with my kryptotal enduro casing on the rear in the dry, good grip and wearing well and not draggy. finally found out what its like in the wet at SES pitfichie on sunday and still impressed.

going to try one on the front when i finish of the wild enduro, might also need an argotal for when conditions get really bad.

once you know how much it costs to run you’ll probably turm it off and never use it again.
i have fitted it to some larger rooms under floors i’ve tiled(when electric was much cheaper) but generally i would say its only for small rooms.

karndean isn’t as cold a flooring anyway like tiles.

How many people will be paying £6.99 a month or £40 a year for GCN+ will be interesting

or will they put it on eurosprt like today? although the problem with that is like tomorrow when the xc is on they dont show it live due to road biking and superbikes being shown. i can understand the superbikes taking proity but not road bike, although i dont watch xc the same would happen with downhill.

commentary was a bit worse without rob warner but wasn’t bad, think it would end up ok once your used to him not doing it.

most of the decents in that vid above are way to overgrown at the moment, they are still rideable but no where near as much fun as normal.
this year seeems to have been a really good(or bad) year for bracken growth.

any decent tiler will recomend tanking all wet areas in a bathroom or a waterproof backerboard with joints sealed, vertually all my customers will agree to it, doesn’t add much to the overall cost.

Waterproof adhesive, ceramic tiles and a waterproof grout will do the same or more

adhesive and grout are not waterproof

it’s all very well saying mine’s been ok for 10 years, i’ve ripped out older bathrooms and the’ve been fine but also seen plenty that have suffered a lot of water damage, cracked/missing bits of grout and then the bare plasterboard behind disintegates is the most common along with failed silicone.

price in ambleside has dropped again, 189.9 for diesel and 179.9 for unleaded, cheapest in the area by about 5p a liter including the supermarkets in kendal.
don’t know whats going on, very rare for anything to be cheaper in ambleside.

at roughly 20% sag i would usually use all but the last inch of travel and occaisionally on a very big hit use it all, that was at 92psi. i tried it yesterday after dropping 3psi out of it and it felt a little better but i used nearly all the travel on a track i wouldn’t have expected to.
i’m hoping to get my bike back very soon so can’t really be bothered to spend to much time and effort getting it right

i think its the grip damper in the 38’s on the bike i’ve been lent by the shop while waiting for a frame warrenty. it’s terrible compared to my factory 36’s(2018 so HSC/LSC not grip2), just way to harsh on the rough stuff and my hands and arms start to suffer really quickly.

rebound adjustment isn’t good either, i run it 2 clicks from full slow which is still reasonbly quick(about right for me) but 1 click slower its extremly slow and by less than half way out it’s so fast. all my past forks somewhere in the middle of the adjustment range has been about right.

my stuff is all panasonic but would imagine they all work the same. sky Q and bluray(not that i ever use it) connect straight to the tv and then tv to soundbar via hdmi ARC on both. tv remote turns soundbar on/alters volume, sky remote turns everything on and alters volume.
viera link is what panasonic call the CEC

only time i need the sounbar remote is to change settings which once setup i never have
