just orderd a Rallon yesterday as well, M10 with factory fork, coil shock 150mm dropper and codes, decided against the extra wait for choosing a colour though and went for the standard red/black. still not getting it untill near the end of may.

got a decent chunk knocked of the £4800 it comes up at on Orbea’s site

had to drill one out last week, decent sharp drill bit at a slow speed and probably didn’t take much longer than a minute with the cordless. removed the cleat and what was left of the bolt came out with pliers

what about fibreglass instead of felt? the last few flat roofs my brother has done he got a fibreglass kit. would think it should outlast felt

i’m local and would go with the under loughrigg suggestions, plenty of people do park up there for a night in there van.
straight out of the van in the morning for a ride without having to drive anywhere.

PVA needs relegating to the bin, but some people want to PVA everything!!!

pva does have its uses, i use it a lot when plaster patching

since switching to a proper DH tyre on the rear i actually manage to wear out rear tyres now( and don’t destroy rims), using a butcher at the moment but most of the year use a slaughter

i would guess your pva wasn’t diluted enough, a second coat should soften up the first and still soak in. often used several coats for very dry backgrounds before skimming. anyway you shouldn’t pva plaster before painting just use a emulsion mist coat

i’ve blue/green gritted and skimmed over in the past with no issues but have seen it done where the artex has come away under the plaster. also particully heavy artex can take some covering.
for the sake of 1/2 a day and cost of a few boards i would always overboard now. its not worth the hassle of saving a customer a few quid and then potentionally having problems they’ll want you to fix.

i’ve used Bluestacks in the past

i’ve got one, only used it 4 times but it seems ok. never used it without the chinbar, got it as i needed a full face in a hurry and it was the only one in the shop that fitted.
worn it at 2 enduros and was fine to leave on for the whole event without getting to hot on the climbs, they weren’t in the middle of summer though so not sure what it would be like on a really hot day.
only issue i had was as i lifted up the visor between stages to put my goggles under it the movement loosened one of the visor bolts and i never noticed until it had gone. need to remember to occaisianlly check the bolts are tight.

i never work on a sq/m price, always hourly rate. but most jobs work out roughly as above. it does depend on the job and how much cutting is involed especially with nateral stone tiles as the cutting takes longer.

yes but like i said it was at least 17 years ago. for me a second box and multiroom works so much better. i can understand it if people don’t want to pay for multiroom but for me i’m happy to pay the extra, its not like its a lot.

why the need for a magic eye? i’ve not used one for about 17 years. have 2 boxes and multiroom at the moment, when i get Q will just get 2 mini boxes for the locations i want tv’s.
i have heard the wifi is crap but i’m putting in ethernet points so will run them wired.

mot sure i see the point of doing it, as you’re paying for sky Q might as well just get another mini box and have it fully functioning upstairs.
thats my plan when i get a bit further on with doing the house up.

as above, you have to watch the weight. i’m guesing if they are big they will probably be porcelain(although you can still get large ceramic) and pretty much most porcelain tiles are over the weight that you are meant to tile onto plaster. i think its about 23kg sqm and you also need to allow for the adhesive in that which you’ll use a lot of on big tiles on uneven walls.
in the past i have gone over the weights a little and its been ok but if its a paying customer i’ll refuse to do it and knock the plaster of back to the solid wall.
if you did want to just straigten the existing wall the best thing to use is a rapid setting tile adhesive preferbly non flexible so it doesn’t slump to much. and prime it with a proper primer not pva.

Got 4 tickets no bother. Sure there will be some released about now as if like our group all tried to enter and then only 1 went through to complete.

think we should of done that, i managed to get in but the 3 mates who were trying didn’t.
was 30 seconds before half past when they became avaiable

only tyre i’ve ever stuggled to seat even with a small compressor, ussually takes about 5/10 minutes of messing with it to get it on.

it rained a little just as i was leaving late saturday afternoon.
why the need for working showers, its a weekend of biking, beer and camping
must admit it would have been nice to have the option of a shower at ard moors though.

i never said it shouldn’t be used in bathrooms, maybe i should of said MR is no better than normal board rather than suitable. any plasterboard in a bathroom needs tanking in wet areas so its much better to use a fully waterproof tilebacker board instead if possible.

i have had to skim onto MR boards before, they are meant to have a coat of Bond-it on first to provide a key but the customer wouldn’t pay for it so it got skimmed without at his risk, was a few years ago now and i’ve never heard of any problems with it.

bigjohn unless epoxy grout is used all grout can let moisture through and can take a while to dry out especially in a heavyly used shower, i wouldn’t recommend using epoxy though.

mentioning new builds doesn’t mean much with the standards most are built to nowadays.

whats bollox and if you think it is you obviously haven’t got a clue about tiling

    bigfoot

Use cement board or, at least, the green (water resistant) plasterboard for the bathroom

agree on the tilebacker board but moisture resistant plasterboard is not really any more suitable for a bathroom than normal plasterboard. it would still need tanking.
best not to skim plasterboard when its being tiled over, all it does is lower the weight limit for tiles. just tank straight onto the plasterboard in wet areas but again tilebacker boards are much better.

last 3 private car deals where buying for 10k, selling for 8.5k and then buying for 6.5k all done in cash. most recent one was 9 years ago when electronic transfers weren’t as easy.
don’t think i would deal in those amounts of cash now.

was thinking about replacing my reverb with the stealth version but mentioned it to a mate and it turns out ones on his spare bike. can’t remember what he said about it apart from suggesting to get something else.

if thats where i think it is don’t think there’ll be any pics of me in that bit as i launched through it on the wrong line with to much speed and sent the camera man running out of my way completly screwing up my entry into the next corner, annoyingly the high entry line i used in practice worked perfectly.

that rut certainly looked deeper than last time i rode it but that was a while ago.
no, niether of those two you mention and the latest post on facebook mentions sharing the transistion to stage 1 and 2 with the go ape vans so yes rowley wood and probably the newish one with the deer gates opposite the way in to rowley wood.

PMBA in grizedale, forecast not looking to bad, just a few showers tomorrow and dry sunday. probably means heavy rain all weekend.

even with the rain the viking wasn’t to bad last night, need to keep out of that deep rut near the bottom of the steep bit though.

lowey, from what i’ve heard the only stage on coniston side is the viking/bomb holes then down to the lake.

sounds a bit soon to me but it does depend on what adhesive was used.
individual tiles can be removed without damageing others if your carefull about removing the grout but not sure about not damageing the membrane, decoupling membrane isn’t normally needed on a newly screeded floor anyway.

i normally tile after the kitchen has been fitted but done a few first and never had to go back to sort any damage by the kitchen fitters

bearing life on mine doesn’t seem that good particuly for the chainstay rear ones and i don’t generally clean it with anything but a gentle hose down and then usually only if the bike is still wet when i get home.
as i live in the lakes it does spend most of its time being ridden through losts of water and down trails with rivers running down them as well as the muddy boggy ones so i guess that plays a part on bearing life.

hasn’t put me of the bike though and would have another one but as my next bike will be used with the G150 as a spare bike i’ll probably go for something else.

no matter how much light you have you can still get lost in dense trees.
was doeing a bit of exploring last winter and the path just disapered, spent about half an hour battling trees trying to find it again before i gave up and got my phone out to see where to go. strava upload showed i’d been going in circles and doing figue of eights and hardly actually got anywhere.

my G150 seems to go through bearings quite quickly, uasually the ones at the back of the chain stays. those 2 have just been changed again only a couple of months since it had a full set fitted, hoping that was a one of as they normally last a bit longer than that.

listening to the rain hammering on the van most of the night was putting me of riding but glad i did.the rain had turned it from a sticky claggy mess to a wet sloppy one. we were on 4 on saturday when they decided to close it and there was loads of people we passed just pushing down it.

it was an entertaining fun day for me, once your wet and covered in mud you forget the conditions. climb out of 5 was tough especially as both my legs started to cramp up so had to stop for a couple of minutes.

we were finished by 12.30 and couldn’t belive how many people had gone but it meant we had an easy clear run out of the field.

got round in just over 20 minutes and only slid of once so happy enough with that

cleanup when i got home wasn’t fun though
