No it loosened and worked perfectly smoothly afterwards, no need to take your pliers on a ride

Think it is a common problem, I posted a question on MTBR forums about the same thing.

You just need to use a little pressure. The floodgate knob is stiff on some of the Rebas, I used a pair of needlenose pliers on mine which worked a treat and it freed up immediately. Dont go crazy though!!

Used to have an 05 model for about a year and it was great on the downs but horrible to pedal or ride for long periods. Get a 5 spot Jim, you know you want to

    From urban dictionary

    v. to take one for the team is best seen in the example.

also known as: “jumping on the grenade”
Joe and his four other male friends go to a bar. They come across four very hot women, and one ugly one. Joe, being the good and pure one to his friends, gets with the ugly one to spare his friends the agony.

Buddy 1: “Hey, have you guys seen Joe?”

Buddy 2: “Yea i saw him an hour ago, he left with a real fat grenade”

Buddy 3: “That Joe guy is a good man cause he always takes one for the team”

Got the Conti Attack/Force combo a couple of weeks ago and well impressed compared to the Gatorskins they replaced.

35% discount at Ribble so £44 for the pair

Although if you read the FAQs, it would be useless for dogs that are hard of hearing.

Surprised no one has mentioned the sonic repellants; may be that they are a bit crap. This one is aimed at cyclists/joggers too (not literally :D)

Oh and generally you do not need hard evidence to get compensation from the provider, I have settled many complaints in the past where only verbal assurances were given.

You could try and sell on the TEP market.

Guidebook was Bike Scotland Trails Guide 2nd ed. The route has potential dont get me wrong, but is far from the flowery description in the guide. (The other group we met on the trail had visited due to the same guide and felt the same disappointment).

We were directed the wrong way by the young girl at the tourist info office and the tiny photocopied maps supplied didnt give much clue how to get back on track (no map was taken as the guidebook states that the route is clearly waymarked!!). Again after the radio mast the trail petered away and it was not clear at all which way to go. There were some nice bits on the trail (very short) but on the whole it seemed that they were linked by huge fireroad sections making the whole experience pretty unmemorable – like Glentrool minus the scenery.

Stravaiger, it was me you were talking to about that trail at the weekend!

Badly!, was down recently and got lost 3 times trying to find the trail head then got lost again on the way round. On meeting another group of riders at the end, the general consensus was that the trails are pretty crap and it was a wasted day. There are better place to ride in that area imo

Bear in mind that if you use it on a FS that there is a lot of weight out back, which I found ruined the sensitivity of the suspension on my bike. The Alfine is slightly easier to set up than a Rohloff and the cable is less sensitive to tight bends that can be problematic with the dual cable hoff setup. Definately test before you buy as there is a difference in drag between a gear hub and derailleur bike that some people cant stomach.

I have an Alfine on my unit 29er and have previously owned a Rohloff – save your money and go Shimano, the difference in performance is not reflected in the price difference :-)

I used the same shim for a GD on my turner (30.9 also) and found it to be loose. Measuring the shim diameter whilst on the post and it came out about 30.7mm so I ended up getting a 31.0mm alloy one from the CRC flood sale which is a perfect fit.

    They still have em too!

White spirit in a coffee jar – pop your chain in and give it a shake.

As green as a heap of burning tyres but cheap and effective!

Some lovely scenery but the fire roads become a bit tedious. I joined up with Kirro black and did a loop to add some fun into the equation but it makes it a long day in the saddle. If you are planning a long ride there are better places to go imo. You could try putting the route into mapmyfitness.com etc to get total elevation.

    Read this then.
    High volume can modification
It has really improved mine, making it much more progressive throughout the stroke without having to keep adding more pressure.

It is probably part way into U turn adjustment. Just compress the fork till the nut meets threads.

Doh misread that, dont have 823s but they are significantly heravier than the Stans.

    bigdugsbaws

Have both – 819s are dinged whilst the Stans with lower sidewalls are intact. Could be luck but the Stans dont burp air, are lighter and offer a far better tyre profile.
