Success, culprit no grease on internal threads on spindle so i couldn't tighten the left crankarm up enough to take up slack, greased and nipped up nicely.

I havealready got this crankset on my susser and have learnt to take an 8mm, and yes it does still use that 8mm.

Its doing my head in, not done this job before so not sure if the play is acceptable, it really is only a tiny bit.

Where i live its lots of little short ups and downs, which seem to destroy me, i actually prefer a longer steady climb at least you can get into a rythm then and usually its rewarded at the top.

Been a Virgin and NTL customer for years, never had any BB probs or TV probs. I will be staying with them as well cheap and reliable in my opinion.

Alfa's suffer from their deservedly bad rep from the 80's, it only had to rain andyour car was a rusting wreck lol.

I have an Alfa 156….rust no, as its galvanised panels now, had it 2 years no real probs just a new exhaust box and starter motor but it is10 yrs old though.

What you will benefit from though is a car that is a bit different, is gorgeous to look at and value for money as Alfa used prices are good due to the effect of the 80's reputation. Parts andservicing is reasonable too with many independant Alfa specialists about and there are some good Alfa forums around.

    Go for it.

Northwind…..sorry wasn't clear in my post, the bank honoured DD's above my OD limit, therefore i incurred OD overlimit fee's (high) and to make matters worse they seemed to pick and choose which they felt like honouring. Got to a point that my wages when i got a new job (substantially lower than previous job but needs must) were just about covering the OD overlimit charges. Bad times.

I was better off when i was younger and got paid weekly by cash on a friday. Actually having the money in your hand really teaches you the value of money, as you spend so it disappears. You had to actually go to a bank to put money in or get it out.

Nowadays though (i'm very guilty here) its all hole in the wall, debit cards etc so we all spend figures and don't actually appreciate the value of our spending.

Regards credit, to get any (store cards, loans etc) you had to fill out forms then await for approval, or attend an interview but thats changed now , you can borrow what you like at the touch of a button.

I have experienced bad difficulties in the past, due to bad management of money and being made redundant twice in one year. My bank wasn't helpful at all and practiced the honouring of DD then charging me for it even though i clearly had sod all in the account. Now it does make me angry with the folks who sit there and spout off that its peoples fault etc they shouldn't etc. Until you find yourself in difficult circumstances then you can't appreciate how hard it can be.

I have limited experience, in the early days of petplan, our vet recommended highly that we take out insurance on our puppy, peace of mind no more high vet bills only excess etc etc.

2 weeks before xmas dog needs an op around £325 worth of op, i think ok we're covered. Come to collect our dog, that'll be £325 please…i say no insurance covered so i just pay £50 excess to you then you claim off insurance……sadly no, i had to pay in full then the vet had to fill out the claim forms to which they charged me for £17.50 iirc.

Unless its changed never again, the whole point is so your not faced with high bills surely? No other insurance makes you pay then you claim back does it???

If its changed then its a good idea.

they'll probably be happy to stay with you as they won't have to pay your salary all year, only as and when they use you.

do you still have to pay ALL the bill then claim it back minus the excess?

I have to say American Werewolf , that bit on the Moor's….shiverrrr

Also The Fog (original) , that really made me pap, i had a paper round in the early mornings and had to go through a park that always seemed to have a mist/fog across it. I carried a hammer in my bag after seeing that film…god knows why!!

Oh and an awesome film of its time….The Thing. Which i understand they are re-making?

Mstly though its Werewolf films that make me uneasy…no idea why and i'm 38 lol.
