Paulevans…the HT should come with a LL tune Debonair RT3. It should also come with 4 spacers in the can iirc.

I am 95kg+ and didn’t get on with the debonair rt3, to me it just didn’t feel supportive and struggled with pressures to get anywhere near what I wanted.

I have now replaced it with a Fox DPS EVOL shock in a slightly firmer tune, the difference is noticeable. Funnily enough the newer HT come with Fox DPS EVOL as standard read into that what you want.

By the way love my HT, superb bike. Had it at 150mm front and now at 140mm in 29er. Can imagine the HT LT is a more focused machine erring towards the more gravity oriented end of things.

Worked shifts most of my life in one form or another, 47 now and it gets harder on nights. I am on a reasonable pattern now of 12 hour shifts, 4 on 6 off (2xdays then 2xnights). I haven’t found a solution but I stay up all day prior to first night then get in about 0800 after an hour drive, bit of brekkie then bed around 0900. Get up for the pee due to an amazingly reduced bladder capacity on nights it appears. Up again at 1230-1330 is most I can manage it get pounding headaches forcing sleep on nightshift. Luckily I only do 2 nights so it’s over quick, following last night I kip for a couple hours to take the edge off and sleep soundly first night back in bed. I am however fed up shift working generally and would welcome a change even just to 8 hour shifts.

New Anthem 29 looks a good bet. Orbea Oiz also good bet (owner here), Orbea have an outlet on they’re site selling off 2017 stock.

Used loads of flat pedals and found I really like the HT ANS-01 pedals. Great grip, light and seem durable.

T130 I reckon best for most if not all your riding imo. S150 is overkill.

Had a roof rack set up for years, new car has a detachable tow bar set up. After a year of use I think I prefer the roof rack setup, reason being it’s always on and bikes of all shapes accommodated. The rear rack is a pain to keep putting on n off. Also some bike combos don’t fit v well on rear rack taking ages to faff with then not being 100% about how secure it’s attached.

Guys it’s not so simple we work a rolling 4 on 6 off 24/7 , our holidays are “built in” to our 6 off through a strange contract drawn up years before I joined. However it was written in that if nothing operational was happening on bank hols you could have them off or if we were operating we got a lieu day and enhanced pay of 2x hrly rate. Company has historically honoured all this until a new manager arrived and his interpretation of said contract. He’s taking the stand it’s tough get on with contractual obligations. It’s making for some interesting HR communication between us, them and him ref contracts, custom and practice etc. Meanwhile we will just crack on as expected so for me it’s days Xmas eve then nights Xmas day and boxing day. I’m not rostered on next year but some other folk will be. Not going to dwell on it.

Had an email from our new grinch manager with the company attached terms on receiving gifts etc. No bonus. No card. Nowt. He’s demanding we all turn in on Xmas day and boxing day those that are rostered on shift even though it was usually given off as nothing happens on Xmas day so a nice 12 hour boring night shift. Oh and the pinnacle of his grinchness is he’s interpretation of our 16 yr contract is now that we get no day in lieu for bank holiday working and no extra pay either. I doubt a nice bottle is on its way to us. Merry Xmas

Or your rear shock is a Fox Evol or Monarch Debonair. If it is either let all the air out slowly. Then refill the air to 50psi then cycle the shock up and down about 25-50% travel 10 or so times to balance the negative air chamber too. Repeat this at 100psi etc until it’s at your sag pressure setting. I forgot to do this once and it was very stiff rigid suspension. Worth a go.

In the STW tradition of recommending your own Orbea Oiz,full Carbon frame, superb all dayer, very light, very nimble, very comfortable. I really like it even though it’s a racier geometry than is currently fashionable elsewhere.

I just use Mr muscle cleaner. I also find leaving rims in living room night before so they are warm and moisture free helps. I keep a hair dryer on hand to gently warm the area as taping not hot just warm.

I decided on a whim to commute tomorrow 13.5 miles to work on my overbiked Hightower running Nobby Nic tyres…..it’s going to drag but my XC bike is still at lbs a victim of the Fox stupidity currently. 0530 up 0600 start bet I arrive done but brain awake. I used to commute more couple years ago but it became a chore after a while even only twice a week, but I strangely missed it.
