The £5 off a £50 spend seems a good idea to me.

Few… Phew… Shmew… Whatever… I still have a Reverb at much cheapness. Just have to try and fit it to the bike for a big ride this weekend.

Few, the Reverb that has just arrived for me from Germany for £180 (posted and with bleed kit), is out of stock on Merlin and would have cost me £249.99 there, thank goodness for that. I still have a bargain.

Why do drivers still try and turn right when I am going straight on, I have actually had words with a woman driver about this, she thought I should have gone onto the motorway slip road, because that is what she was trying to do. Why can they not just wait instead of trying to take us down. Then you get the other drivers that overtake you on the other side of the road, surely my bum is not that big. That’s why I only cycle on the roads, only when I really have to.

I have cycled round Trevelez, it is lovely, try pop into the shop in the main square that has all the funny hats. The riding round there is great, best I have ridden. You will have a ball round there. I would take a cable, just in case though.

I have a slight chaffing of the skin on my neck as a result of a heavily twisted knit jumper. I don’t know if I can go on… I see a tunnel, should I go in to the light…

She will be very popular with the local residents of Edinburgh, they have already paid far too much for something they do not need or want. And she wants £1m, I know I am not happy with her, she should look where she is riding. Although putting the largest vehicle on the road and a cyclist in the same lane does not seem like a good idea for me, but that is how it is…

I’m 6.2 with a 32″ inside leg, I have a 20″ 2011 Five and it fits me perfectly. I do have a longish back though. I through it around anything and it takes it very well, I have a smaller Patriot that I used for DH, but I prefer the size of the Five. But really you should try before you buy. They are great bikes though. Mine just wants to go and go, but I never feel out of control with it, it just takes it.

Please tell me you have one of those collars for your dog that lights up, that would be so funny to see your Dog Kite with illumination. That would freek any passer by out good style.

I purposely don’t have a bike lock so I cannot lock it up anywhere, although I would never leave any of my bikes anywhere apart from locked in the car or the house.

How about a large sponge from Halfords, cut into it from the side, might need a bit of hacking into it, then slip it over the derailleur and pop a ziptie round it. Might need to ziptie the chain to the derailleur so it slips into the sponge. Someone told me about this method, but I have never needed to use it, but it sounds as though it could work.

Cheers for the info. There used to be dodgy folk and burnt out cars in the Balerno end car parks. I hope to do some night riding up there too, but will try it out in the daylight first, get some routes sorted. Is the one over the top OK, over Turnhouse Hill and Carnethy Hill then back on the road, might try that one first.
